1. Re: The 4 Nation Challenge

    Hi guys

I have quit Betis. It's been fun, but I simply don't have the time to be involved in an "active" set-up; new responsibilities both in my personal and professional life.

Take care and good luck. I'm keeping my forum account and will be dropping in from time to time.

    Best regards Marty/Jinx

Hows this place getting on now? Still 100% full? How are 5579 and Villarreal getting on?

Betis could be a way in for you, mate.

  2. Re: The 4 Nation Challenge

    Nice signing Dom.

Espanyol complete the cup double with a 3-1 win over Newcastle :) Early goals from Zanetti and Pastore gave us the advantage before Higuain pulled one back' date=' but Zanetti netted his second to give us a deserved victory. Unlucky Dan![/quote']

    Awesome work, dude! Congratulations.

  3. Re: The 4 Nation Challenge

He was announced on the thread weeks ago ' date=' Im confused as you dont know :P

That is his name Gurnak , I state the obvious as it is the answer. Link below is his forum account :P

    He certainly is :D

    [url']http://forum.soccermanager.com/member.php?u=22018

Ohh, so he was annonced!? I probably missed that as I have had a busy period at work and at home.

Regarding stating the obvious, I was looking for something like which club he manages in 5579 and so on (Huddersfield, I know), not his name.

  4. Re: The 4 Nation Challenge

You dont even know who your new team mate is?

Just as confused as you. Has he been announced on this thread?

Its Gurnak by the way :)

Thanks for stating the obvious' date=' Dom. Considering I stated that his name sounds familiar in my previous post, I was kinda looking for more than his name...

Poldoski has stars on his debut as we thrash Genoa 4-1

    Podi is a beast!

  5. Re: From minnow to macho ; a thread for little boys becoming big boys

Want to revive this thread as there were some very good 'projects' going on in here.

Would be great to hear about dedicated GC managers rather than constantly hear about 'club hoppers' in the 'Official' GC thread.

Kettering are now currently in 2nd place in their debut PL season after winning leagues 5' date='4,3 and 2, and are 1 point off the leaders.

    Team is currently:

    GK [b']SIRIGU 89,

    DF SAGNA 92, ABATE 90,

    DF HUMMELS 92, N'KOULOU 88

    DF TAIWO 89, ANGEL 88

    DM KHEDIRA 91, PAULINHO 88

    MC LUCAS 88, YACOB 86

    MC MARCHISIO 91, CLEVERLEY 86

    MR MENEZ 90, BLASZCZYKOWSKI 88

    ML NANI 93, CESAR 88, MESBAH 85

    ST CAVANI 91, GAMEIRO 90

    ST HIGUAIN 94, STURRIDGE 89

That is one crazy team! Well done, mate.

I just updated the following two teams:

    Frosinone (GC77)

    Notts C. (GC74)

  6. Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread

dominic (swindon1991forum) latouche has become the new West Bromwich Albion manager.

I gave Ed my word I would return some day and here Iam :)

Bazinga! :) Welcome back' date=' Dom!

    Hi Guys,

Just a quick note to let you all know that i am still alive :D

I can announce the news that me and my wife are expecting a baby and that is the main reason behind my recent absence from the forum.

We found out the news on boxing day and it has been non stop ever since i have had to redecorate and have still not finished so i haven't had a lot of time to get on here.

At the moment i am just setting up my teams for the present time until i have my house straight but rest assured i am not quitting the game just yet.

Hope you are all well :)

    Congratulations mate.

  7. Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread

Don't like the guy to be honest' date=' tried trading him out but nobody was having any of it so in the end I settled for cash.

Proud to announce my latest signing in the form of Kevin De Bruyne, didn't expect to sign him for 15.5m but it was accepted, brilliant young player who will hopefully join Chelsea or another big club in the summer.

Here's how my starting XI will look now:

    [center']Alves (89)

    Azpilicueta (89) -- David Luiz (90) -- Agger (90) -- Monreal (89)

    Isla (90) -- Pastore (90) -- Elm (87) -- De Bruyne (87)

    Remy (90) -- De Jong (88)

Very happy with this new look side, but I would like to sell and replace Agger, Monreal and Alves and then I will be 100% happy.

    Looking good there, mate.

  8. Re: The 4 Nation Challenge

    Marco REUS +1 88>89

    Thomas MULLER +1 92>93

    Robert LEWANDOWSKI +1 88>89

    Kyriakos PAPADOPOULOS +2 85>87

    Lukas RUPP - +4 76>80

    Knowledge MUSONA +4 78>82

    Maximilian BEISTER +2 82>84

A few German risers in @the Toon

Nice rises, mate. Especially the top two!

Mario GĂ–TZE got his +2 at Betis and is now rated 91. :D

  9. Re: The 4 Nation Challenge

Real Betis outclassed Lecce and beat them 5 - 3 in a thrilling Division 1 encounter.

Gourcuff was impressive and scored a hat-trick, later being voted Man of the Match for his performance.

Lisandro was also on the scoresheet for his side.

5579 on the up. Too bad Dale. You almost had 'em.

  10. Re: The 4 Nation Challenge

    Team-match against Ed's Villarreal tonight.

Some juicy risers for Betis' youth team over the last week:

    Adam MAHER +8 to 83

    Frederic BULOT +6 to 83

    Ali AHAMADA +5 to 85

    Mathieu PEYBERNES +5 to 83

    Ola JOHN +5 to 83

    Mickael FIRMIN +2 to 77

Fingers crossed that LISANDRO doesn't drop 1 and DEBUCHY get his +1 tomorrow.

  11. Re: EC Anno Domini - General Discussion, Banter etc.. VACANCIES IF YOU WANT IN

Doncaster Rovers beat Leicester City 4 - 0 in their Division 2 fixture.

Augusto scored a goal and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.

Mertens and Kaboul were also amongst the goalscorers.

    Doncaster have swapped:

    Danilo (87) + Vorsah (88) + 1,3 mil for Augusto (90)

    Boruc (88) for Bengalio (89)

    Schaars (89) for Payet (89)

I'm delighted with Augusto. Sorry to see Vorsah and Danilo leave, but Augusto will do more for the club.

Benglio was an easy choice. He's made some mistakes this season, but he is a great keeper.

Payet is brought back for a second stint at the club.

Some interesting wingers at Doncaster for the time being; Augusto, Payet, Ayew and Mertens

  12. Re: The 4 Nation Challenge

Whoa' date=' very good night for the '79 -

    Genoa 1 - 5 Levante

    Getafe 1 - 1 Newcastle United

    Real Betis 3 - 1 Bayer Leverkusen

    Lecce 1 - 2 Espanyol

    Bolton Wanderers 0 - 1 VILLARREAL

Well done fellas, thats more like it :)[/quote']

    Well done, guys. Lovely round!

Real Betis beat Bayer Leverkusen 3 - 1 in their Division 1 fixture.

Lisandro scored all 3 goals for Real Betis and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.

  13. Re: The 4 Nation Challenge

The match ended 1 - 1 between Real Betis and Palermo in their Division 1 fixture.

Briand was on the scoresheet for his side.

A rather bland draw against Palermo. Quite pleased based on the squad that Palermo boasts though.

    Leverkusen up next.

Nice work on the stats, Fitzy.

  14. Re: The 4 Nation Challenge

Stiff competition' date=' eh? Well it is [i']hard to better Zak's :P

    Funny! :P

Real Betis beat Cagliari 2 - 0 in their Division 1 fixture.

Gourcuff had an impressive game and was voted Man of the Match.

Lisandro and Neymar were amongst the goalscorers.

    Delighted with the win.

    106: 7 - 8 = -1 x 2 losses vs rivals = -2 points

    5579: 12 - 9 = 3 x 3 wins vs rivals = 9 points

    7046: 5 - 7 = -2 x 2 losses vs rivals = -4 points

    7345: 16 - 16 = 0 points

    Acceptable turn for 5579.
