  1. Re: Is this deal really so bad? Fabregas for Pato,Gourcuff and 2mil I actually think you got a good deal mate. Yeah Fabregas is a class player but he didn't have the best season last season, and Pato was fantastic, and is surely in a few years time gonna be one of worlds best, and Gourcuff is only young and again he is a fantastic player. I think you done a great deal.

  3. Re: Gold Championship 62 Match Reports/News/Transfers Thread Everton 2 Sunderland 1 P.Jagielka 68 J.Roberts 80 V.Anichebe 77 It was despair for new Sunderland manager Jordan Gallagher on his first game in charge as they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Everton and Goodison Park. Both sides handed debuts to new signings, with Everton fielding Del Horno,Degen and Chatome and Sunderland giving run outs to Jorge Andrade and Jason Roberts. It was a level first half, although no sides were bottling it, with 3 Sunderland players being booked in the first 45 minutes. However, the 2nd half was to prove to be a much livelier affair. Roared on by their supporters, it was Eveton who took the lead, and it was through England defender Phil Jagielka, who powered home a header from a corner after weak marking from the Sunderland defence, which is sure to anger the manager. This seemed to life Everton and as they grow in confidence, it was inevitable they would increase their lead, and the 2nd came in the 77th minute, when a brilliant through-ball from Leon Osman was latched onto by Victor Anichebe who beat Craig Gordon easily. Everton looked home and dry but Sunderland were not prepared to give in too easily and they got themselves back in the game immediately though debutant Jason Roberts, and what a goal it was. Picking up the ball on the edge of the area, he knocked the ball to the side before slamming it past the helpless keeper. A perfect way to introduce yourself to the fans!! Sunderland pushed and pushed for the equaliser but to no avail as Everton saw out the win and leave Gallagher looking for his first point as Sunderland manager.
  4. Re: Gold Championship 62 Match Reports/News/Transfers Thread Sunderland Echo Today manager Jordan Gallagher further added to his squad with the signings of free agent and Dutch legend Edgar Davids and highly rated Welsh midfielder Joe Ledley from Cardiff, for a fee believed to be around £7million. Both players and fit and will be in contention for tonights season opener away to Everton. Everton v Sunderland Match Preview Jordan Gallagher will see his first game as Sunderland manager, and its a tough away to Everton. For Sunderland, they have all their new signings fit and ready, with Joe Ledley, Edgar Davids, Jorge Andrade and Jason Roberts all set to feature at some stage in the game. As for Everton, they have a full squad to choose from, including new signings Asier Del Horno, Philip Degen and Clement Chantome. Both new managers will want to get off to a positive start in their first game, and bookies have made Everton clear favourites for this one, with most pundits expecting a home win at Goodison Park today.
  5. Re: Gold Championship 62 Match Reports/News/Transfers Thread Sunderland Transfer Update Sunderland today completed the signings of Jason Roberts and Jorge Andrade. With the first game of the season tomorrow evening, it didn't leave much time to get players in, but manager Jordan Gallagher has insisted there is still more to come. Roberts arrives from Blackburn Rovers for £5million, whereas Jorge Andrade was snapped up having previously being a free agent. It is thought both will be in contention for tomorrows season opener against Everton.

  7. Re: Manchester United - English Championship 3904 - Match Reports/Transfer News Tevez Wants Out Carlos Tevez today announced that he wants to leave Old Trafford. Tevez has been unsettled for a while now, due to a lack of games in the first team, and after United splashed £15million on striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar yesterday, Tevez had admitted he doesn't see a future with the club, stating "I Want to thank all their fans for their support of me at this club but for me to progress in my career i need to be playing regular games, and i do not feel i can achieve this here". It is rumoured that Gallagher will offer Tevez as part of a deal for right back Daniel Alves, although when questioned the manager refused to be drawn into any speculation. Manchester United today also signed Brazilian wonderkid Douglas Costa, fighting off competition from West Ham for his signature, the attacking midfielder signed a 4 year deal with club, and was immediately loaned to Wolves, hoping to gain some experience of playing in the Premiership for the first time.

  13. Re: Manchester United - English Championship 3904 - Match Reports/Transfer News United Make First Signings Of Summer Jordan Gallagher made his first signings as Manchester United manager today when dutch forward Klaas Jan Huntelaar and French midfielder Yoann Gourcuff both signed 4 year deals at Old Trafford. Speculation had been mounting for weeks over Huntelaars future, who was said to be out of contention at Real Madrid, and it was Manchester United who finally pounced with a £15million bid. He will join fellow attackers Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov and Michael Owen in the squad. Subsequently, the signing of Huntelaar has allowed talented young forward to move on loan to Bristol City for the season, hoping to gain valuable first team experience. It had been widely reported that United were tracking an atacking midfielder, and these reports proved true when United splashed out another £15million to buy talented playmaker Gourcuff from Bordeaux. He will face a battle to get into the first team though with Michael Carrick, Anderson, Darren Fletcher, Paul Scholes and Owen Hargreaves all fit and ready for action. Finally, Polish goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak has left the club for a fee of £4.7million, joining newly promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers.
