  1. Re: Victor Valdes Rating of 91 I can see his point as players are rated in SM based on what league, what team and how well that team is playing. Obviously international caps and personal performance as well but I've thought for a while now that its strange that he is rated 91 when he has played consistently for one of the best teams. I have him in none of my teams and don’t have great experience of him playing so cant judge on that but I would have thought a 92 or 93 rating would have been fair for the amount of games he has played. To play 40+ games for the last six seasons for a club like Barcelona then this guy is no mug and not as bad you some are trying to make out. I don’t understand why some of you are saying he should not be rated higher just due to what club he is playing for as this is how most of the ratings get judged on from what I have seen in the couple of years I've being playing. You play for atop club and then you will get a higher rating than playing for a lower rated club no matter how well you play for the lower rated club.
  2. Re: Bids "Reset" for external players? I hope pending rating changes are going to be delayed for a few days now as some of my accepted transfer may involve rating changes tomorrow. I had arranged around 20 transfer/swap deals and all had been accepted yesterday and would have gone through today. I lost all these and have had to reset them all back up and just hope they all go through again and without any rating changes happening until they do. As I am on a tight budget I had to do a lot of wheeling and dealing to be able to finance all the deals so it was hard to remember what deals I did first time around. I'm in an old setup where good players are hard to find and get the deals accepted before anyone else bids so I was gutted when I noticed this.
  3. Re: Yossi Benayoun I think he should be rated 91 at a minimum if not 92 if compared to ratings of other Liverpool stars like Kuyt rated 92. How he is 89 I don't know as he has starred for Liverpool for a while now Liverpool 2007-08, 47 appearances 11 goals (including 11 champs league and 3 goals) Liverpool 2008-09, 40 appearances 9 goals (including 7 champs league and 1 goal) Liverpool 2009- 7 appearances 3 goals (including 1 champs league) 75 international caps with 19 goals! With those sorts of stats for midfielder for a club like Liverpool how is he 89??? Any other player with those stats would be rated 92 imo
  4. Re: Brazilian Changes Review/Discussion MsF, I think the ratings are excellent ;-) and I think you are superb and can't thank you enough. The work you have put into this is 1st class and you deserve some kind of medal. You really are a top bloke for doing this as with your help I have taken my fourth division Walsall with 3m in the bank and a squad value of 12m to a squad value of 91M!!!!!! With only eight games played. I have a squad value as high as half the 1st division clubs so I'm well chuffed. With further ratings change to come and the extra money I can make selling, I recon I could be on for a 300m squad before the end of the season. Just hope my SM increase my stadium in the next few seasons so I can pay the wages ;-) I want to give you Rep but the only thing I can find is that I can rate this thread which I have given a five out of Five. (It deserves more ;-) If I need to click on somewhere else to give you rep please let me know. Many Thanks again and keep up the good work ;-) I owe you one so when I create a new game you can have a pick of the teams if you wish.
  5. Re: Giving every team a fair chance, will make the game so much better. Ok mate, let’s agree to disagree if you can’t see my point. But I don't know how you can try and make out no one wants it to change? You mean you don't want it to change? As there are thousands of threads saying different so that’s a strange thing for you to say. Also to say it won't change is ridiculous as Sm is changing it constantly to try and fix the above mentioned issues. SM and players do want it to change to fix these issues and that why the rules keeps changing! Think about what you are saying as it’s not making sense to what is going on with SM right now. All I am doing if offering a suggestion for what I think is the solution to the things SM are trying to change. Sounds a bit like you believe if you keep saying what you think everyone will agree. Not I mate but thanks for your input anyway. Maybe instead of trying to blow peoples ideas down you should try coming up with a good solution yourself to fix the issues I have mentioned. This was just an idea and I was hoping for some input to come up with a solution but I think something based on this would help. Whether its keeping with the same stadium sizes and drastically reduce how many fans turn up I don’t know. It looks like SM is already doing this as players are complaining they are only getting 1 or 2 thousand attendance. The game needs to be balanced so the better you do the more you earn and the worse you do the less you earn.
  6. Re: Giving every team a fair chance, will make the game so much better. Sorry I forgot to reply about your comment that this would ruin the game. Having games half empty and leagues where you can't do transfers has already ruined the game. This is the solutions imo. The reason players keep getting new team is because old leagues have been ruined and need fixing with something like this.
  7. Re: Giving every team a fair chance, will make the game so much better. Thank for your reply again but I think your missing the point this is a game and it’s not realism! So the game playability is what should and is worked on and imo it’s what people enjoy. Also I am not saying that every team should be equal. I'm saying there needs to progression. The better you do the more you’re rewarded. It makes sense, why should bad players be rewarded with lots of money when they are playing badly just because they got to select the big team first. What I am saying is already been implemented in SM as teams are finding there attendances are getting lower so they don’t make so much money. But using the basis of what I suggest this could be fairing on players as they would know exactly what they can expect to earn rather than it being a lottery. Also there is only one way to show this would work and that’s offer it as an option either in testing or custom games. Surely I can't be the only one that thinks you should be able to progress well with your team up the leagues? The forum is full of players moaning about just this!!!!!! and its not full of players asking for more realism. Also if you are after realism then this idea would make it more realistic as for the points I’m mentioned already, not having small teams with loads of money they can’t spend, not having managers changing teams every week, not having transfer systems where no one will sell no matter what the price. Not having leagues with only ten managers. If you want a more realistic game then surely you would agree with the idea as it would fix these problems!! Thanks
  8. Re: Giving every team a fair chance, will make the game so much better. Thank you for your reply and opinion, I too respect what you’re saying but while I agree SM is realistic for player ratings going up and down at the end of the day it is just a game and far from realistic and never will be. And as I said we all love realism but we all want to take over a club and make them great so that option has to be viable. I too love a challenge and in normal management games I would take on the task of taking a small team but that option is not an option imo in SM at the moment due to how the game is set out. You will struggle to take a 2nd division team in world games to take them up and compete with clubs that have a 90,000 crowd no matter what you do, To carry on with realism the game is far from realistic when I see players complaining about having a 12,000 capacity but only getting 1,200 crowds when they were getting sell outs the year before so it’s crippling there finances. When smallish teams have bank balances of 50-100m is unrealistic. Managers leaving there clubs several times a season and the list could go on. You will never make a game like this completely realistic but with my suggestion I think it would clear up the other problems within the game and wouldn’t it be better if we didn’t have half empty leagues? And managers that leave there clubs all the time. Not having the mad rush to try and get a top team. No league would become boring so there would be no reason for players to leave and join new leagues. As I can’t see this taking much code changing I wonder if it could be added as an option in custom games? And if it was I know which leagues would be full and fun to play for longer and surely that’s what we want and that is the point of the game imo rather than complete realism.
  9. I've searched the forum and this suggestions thread and can't see a thread offering a suggestion like mine. It cover topics already discusses about stadiums sizes and finances but I don't think this take has been looked at. My apologies if it has and I have already replied to another tread with this suggestion but wanted to list it in the Suggestions forum for your opinions First off we need to get out of this mind set that SM should be as realistic as possible. Yes we want as much realism as possible but it’s a game so the playability has to come first. I love SM but there are two major failings with SM imo. One is small clubs are not desirable so this leaves many leagues half empty or managers swapping teams way too often. Two is finances of bigger clubs stay to strong causing the hoarding of top players causing older leagues to become static and boring with clubs having massive bank balances. I can see some steps have been taken to try and solve issues like this but imo I have what I feel is a perfect solution to both of these problems. Every league has a set attendance for every club and you fill your stadium in relation to what position you are in the league that week. This way players that have there team playing well will keep progressing. Players that don't will drop down and this will free up more bigger name clubs and make them less desirable which will fill leagues as every club will have a chance of winning the top league over time. I know this will lead to some unrealistic league like Barcelona in division four etc. But remember this is just a game and players will take up the challenge of taking over a division four Barcelona and making them great again. This will mean it’s possible to take your local team and make them world champions! Isn’t that what all good management games are about and is why we play them? Example, Every League one club = 60,000 capacity Every League two club = 30,000 capacity Every League three club = 20,000 capacity Every League Four Club = 10,000 Capacity Then depending on where you are in the league that week you will fill you capacity from round 40% to 100% Example for league 1 1st position = 60,000 2nd 58,000 3rd 56,000 4th 54,000 5th 52,000 And so on to 20th 22,000 Obviously these figures are just off the top of my head and could be ironed out but I think this idea has the basis to take this game from a good game to an excellent game with every league being nearly full. Also if these figures of capacity are got right this will fix any problems with to much money in the game as if large clubs do poorly they will lose money instead of hoarding it. This will force the sale of there player and make sure cash has value in games so players don’t just want to do swaps. Gold games and crying out for something like this with there static transfer market as no one wants to sell! It seems the obvious perfect solutions to me so hope you think so too. Many Thanks for reading.
  10. Re: Crippling custom game world attendances. I've thought for a long time there is a problem with attendances within SM and it looks like its getting worse although I have not experienced it myself with the teams I’m managing at the moment. (I don’t use small teams as there is no way of good progression in this game) I was meaning to post ages again what I think the solution is, but have only just got round to it after reading this thread. First off SM and everyone else needs to realise for this game to work well players need to be able to pick up a small team and with a lot of work be able to win the top division in there league. The only way this can happen is, as you progress you get awarded with higher attendances. As you do worse you get punished with lower attendances forcing the sale of top players. Just like it would be in real life although this game will never be like real life and that leads me to my solution to make the game 10000% better.
