  1. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread Hey everyone. It's been a while. I've just taken over Stoke City so if anyone fancies doing some deals then just contact me.
  2. Re: FIFA 12 Official Thread Brought in Godin(81) on deadline day for just over £10 million. That's us out of cash now so I don't think anyone will be joining us in January although I hope to punt the rest of my deadwood when that time comes around. We currently sit 7th after 13 games in what has been a decent start to the season. The only down side is that we are out of the league cup having been beaten 4-0 by Newcastle in the last 16.
  3. Re: FIFA 12 Official Thread Decided to start my CM with Aston Villa as they have a decent team with a number of good youngsters like Bannan, Delph, Clark etc. Shifted the deadwood and have brought in these players so far; Cissokho(78) - £7.9 million Obraniak(77) - £5.7 million Traore(75) - £3.75 million Smith(77) - free I didn't have any LMs to begin with so that's why Obraniak and Traore have signed. Smith will be my new no2 keeper and Cissokho is an upgrade on Warnock. There's still a few weeks to go in the transfer market so I'm hoping to make one more signing, probably a striker or CB. Pre season results Aston Villa 1 - 0 FC Augsburg (Bent) Catania 0 - 0 Aston Villa Aston Villa 2 - 2 Lorient (Bent & Agbonlahor) EPL results Fulham 2 - 1 Aston Villa Dissapointing result especially considering Andy Johnson lobbed Given in the 90th minute to get the winner. We play Blackburn next so hopefully we can get at least a point there.
  4. Re: FIFA 12 Official Thread Got my copy of Fifa 12 yesterday and after playing a few friendlies I'm looking to start my CM tomorrow. I wanted to go Hibs but after finding out that around 8 members of my first team were going to be out of contract at the end of the season, and the rest of them going out of contract the following year, I think I'm going to have to go someone else. My PSN is PatrickC_1875 if anyone fancies a game.

  6. Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread GC40: Fulham 1 - 3 Man City Picked up my first win as City boss thanks to goals from Gomez, Sahin and Cahill. That shoots us up to 14th and hopefully we can continue to climb the table in the coming weeks.
  7. Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread Portsmouth 3 - 0 Fulham A strike from Arshavin and a double from Quagliarella sees us remain in 6th. However, after picking up his 5th yellow card this season in tonight's match, the Italian striker will miss our next game against Chelsea.
  8. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread Charlton Athletic 1 - 3 Arsenal A goal from Arshavin and a brace from Aguero sees us move up to 7th. Unfortunately, Lucio will miss our next game after getting himself sent off in tonight's match.
  9. Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread GC40: Lost my first game with Man City against West Ham last night. Oh well... Has anyone had a problem with the manager Jim Doc in this GC? Right from my arrival he kept making cash bids for my 90+ players and despite me sending him a PM telling him explicitly to stop, he's continued to make these sorts of bids!
  10. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread No one? Anyway, Arsenal remain in 8th despite a 2-1 win over Darlington last night. David Silva scored the opener in the 48th minute which was followed swiftly by a Luis Fabiano equalizer a minute later before Haggui got the winner 8 minutes from time.
  11. Re: Help With Deal(s) Thread... Should I do the following deal; £8 million + Turan + Oxlade-Chamberlain = Darren Fletcher I would be the one getting Darren Fletcher. I'm not really fussed about the money as I have plenty of that but I'm obviously not too keen on letting Chamberlain go. Thanks in advance.
  12. Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread Well done on the victory. You've spoiled our winning run though. I'm still looking to do some deals and can offer two of my first team(bar Soldado unless the player in question is reasonably young)for 1 player rated 92+. Contact me if you have anyone that fits the criteria.
  13. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread Looking to sell Bobo(88) for 1 or 2 talented youngsters. I don't care what rating they are, aslong as they are 21 or under, so if you need a decent striker and have anyone that fits the criteria they let me know. I'm also willing to let Ulreich and Stepanenko go for the same aswell if anyone is interested.

  15. Re: Soccer Manager Chat I've been critical of SM "developments" in the past but I think the chat feature is a great step forward as it should allow quicker negotiations among forumers and non forumers alike(and hopefully encourage the latter ones to become the former).
  16. Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread Konoplyanka is a good player but I can't see him rising anytime soon at Dnipro while Alaba has a big future ahead of him and is already a regular Austrian international at 19 years old.
  17. Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread GC40 - Man City: Despite firing in quite a few bids I haven't been able to complete a deal with another human yet although I have completed the signings of a number of youngsters and free agents, the most notable of which is Leverkusen defender Omer Toprak for £4.6 million.
  18. Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread A debut goal from Michael Essien saw Portsmouth move into the next round of the cup after a narrow 2-1 win at home to Burton Albion. Plymouth Argyle await us in the next round. This result caps off an impressive few weeks for the team which has seen us go on a 7 game winning streak. Let's just hope that this run can continue for as long as possible. I haven't posted in a wee while to welcome to all the new managers.
  19. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread 1. Anybody interested in Arshavin? 2. Anybody got a 89+ LB for sale?
  20. Re: English Championship 106 - Discussion Thread After the disaster of last week, where we lost twice in the league aswell as being knocked out of the Cup, Arsenal got back to winning ways last night after a 2-0 win away at Sunderland. The result moves us up to 8th at the half way mark of the season. I'm going to quit Spain in a few minutes, as internationals still lack something for me, so keep an eye out if you are interested. I'm assuming international teams don't get offered out to another manager??
  21. Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread Decided to give GCs another bash after picking up a rather nice Man City in GC40. I'm looking to put my mark on the squad so if anyone has a team in this GC then just let me know if you fancy doing some deals.
  22. Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread 3 teams available! We need to get this EC back up and running again. Still looking for 92+ players and can offer 2 members of my first team for them. I've already done one deal so far with Michael Essien joining us from Sunderland and I'm hoping for more big name signings in the near future.
  23. Re: Official Euro 2012 Qualification Thread Spain did have a few chances to score but to say everything looked under control is a bit of an exaggeration imo. If Goodwillie had laid the ball back to Mackail Smith' date=' it would have been 3-2 and then who knows what might have happened? I also thought we played much better in the second half and had a number of decent chances throughout the game but just couldn't take them. Anyway, I'm obviously disappointed about the game and the campaign in general but there was some positives to take from it. If we can get S.Fletcher back into the team, I think we have a pretty strong squad going into the 2014 qualifiers. Oh yeah, I hope the cheating Czechs get humped by whoever they play in the play offs.[/font']
  24. Re: Official Euro 2012 Qualification Thread Well if it wasn't for that cheat' date=' Rezek I think it was, we would have qualified for the play offs already.[/font']
  25. Re: Official Euro 2012 Qualification Thread Looks like we're going to play the same team that beat Liechtstein at the weekend. It's good to see Bannan and Mackail Smith have recovered after picking up injuries in that game. I think in reality we're going to have to hope that the Lithuania can take all 3 points off the Czechs tonight as even without players like Iniesta, Fabregas, Negredo etc I can still see us getting beaten pretty comfortably is we're not 100% focused for the whole 90 minutes. C'mon the Scots!
