    Season 5, Turn 22 - Update
Not long since the last league update, but we've made significant progress towards our goal of promotion to Division 1. The target that we want for promotion is 68 points, a point tally that Enyimba are currently on course for, which will usually be enough for automatic promotion and we've got 9 points closer to that tally in the last 3 games.
We feel that 22 wins, which will get us to that tally, will be enough for promotion, and we're now just 6 wins shy of that total with 17 games to play, meaning we need to play like a largely mid-table side for the reason to guarantee promotion. So far this season we've managed 16 wins from 21 games, so if we can play anything like we have so far this season, then three consecutive promotions will have been achieved which is some achievement in an incredibly competitive setup. We definitely feel like we're capable of doing that, having won our last five games, and with every game that our winning running continues, our aim of promotion because more and more simple within the remainder of the season.
With Adalberto Penaranda leaving the club, Josh Maja has excelled in his absence and been an improvement in terms of goalscoring, which has been surprising. The key man in the side though has been Dan James, who leads the way in both goals and assists, with increasingly strong performances since his most recent rating change, and he's the favourite at the moment to win the club's Player of the Season award.
Next up we've got FK Partizani, a decent team who beat us to automatic promotion last season. However, since then our team has improved significantly in terms of rating, and we're now the stronger side. We're away from home, but it's a game that we'll be aiming to get all three points from, which would take us that step closer

Is there really any point in them giving League 1 a full review? It's going to take forever, with there being 23 teams in the league and there's so few ratings in the division that really matter.
The only players that are worth reviewing are the few stands outs in the top 6.

Wait, so does this mean Ben White has been overlooked yet again for a higher rating than 82?

Some of the inconsistencies of this Championship review are incredibly irritating, not that anyone really cares.
Joe Rodon staying at 80 is absurd, as our best player by some distance, given that plenty of players nowhere near his level reached 82 and 83. Yes, he's had an injury, which he's now recovered from, but that didn't stop Bristol City's Jay DaSilva increasing to 82 despite having half the minutes of Joe. Add to that his contribution to Wales qualifying for the Euros, and his guaranteed starting position at the tournament and it's just a joke really.
He'll get the rating he deserves in time, probably after the Euros, but he should be at that 83/84 level by now comfortably.

    Max Bird
    Age: 19
    Rating: 73
    Predicted Rating: 78
Another Championship youngster comes in, with the signing of Max Bird, who's established himself as one of the star performers for Derby County. He's still very young, but has been very effective as Wayne Rooney's midfield partner and has been earning rave reviews from Derby's supporters so we had to bring him in.

Quite random, but every now and then I'm amazed by how this thread became the main predictions thread (main overall thread on this forum). I started it casually, and now we have 854 pages, 21k replies and 987k views.
    It's quite nice

How on earth is Jack Butland still rated as high as 87.
He's been rubbish now for 18 months in a league that's cap is 85.

They aren't really worth it even if they do get the rating increase but I don't think they will. It's so rare for a player currently in the Championship to get an increase to 85, and that's even when they've reviewed it at the end of the season. Ryan Sessegnon went to 83 when winning Championship Player of the Year, Bamford got to 84 a few years back when winning the same award.
The one's to get are your 77/78 rated player who are looking to push towards 82, which represents a big increase in value. Key ones being:

    Jayden Bogle - 78 (Derby)
    Joshua Dasilva - 78 (Brentford)
Nathan Ferguson - 77 (West Brom)
    Lewis O'Brien - 77 (Huddersfield)
    Marcus Tavernier - 77 (Middlesbrough)
Han Noah Massengo - 76 (Bristol City)
Jude Bellingham - 75 (Birmingham City)

I don't know how SM are going to do this so I'm not going to go for individual predictions but I'd expect all to hit 80 or 82, which represents a good profit for all of them.

Four Luton Town players reviewed today, is this the start of a much earlier than anticipated Championship review or was it just random?

I think all are big talents, all are worth getting. They'll be reviewed in April, when I'd expect:
    Ferguson, 77 > 82/80
    Bellingham, 75 > 80
    Massengo, 76 > 80/82
    Ebe Eze, 82 > 83
    Mbuemo, 82 > 83
    Bogle, 78 > 82

I think Michael Obafemi only getting a rating increase to 78 is definitely harsh. 13 games this season for Southampton, 6 of which have been starts, as well as his first cap for Ireland. He's only scored twice, but has been good for them, and they are quite high up in the table now.
I guess with players like this, they'll get their deserved ratings eventually as they're reviewed at least twice a season so it's not the end of the world.

    Rating Changes
    Chris Mepham, 83 > 85
It's a really good rating increase for Chris Mepham, perhaps due to his accomplishments with Wales, given that he hadn't played too many minutes for Bournemouth given his injuries. He's recently undergone surgery, and will be out until April, so had he not been given a generous rating increase now then he certainly wouldn't have got one later in the season so it's much needed for us and gives us some real strength at centre-back. Mepham should now be certain to start for us in our campaign to reach Division 1, and I expect that his likely centre-back partner will end up being Reece James when he gets his rating increase in the next week or two.
    CB: Mepham (85), R. James (82), Adarabioyo (82), Clare-Salter (82), White (82), Rodon (80)
    Aaron Ramsdale, 80 > 83
This was the first real disappointment with for us, as despite out performing fellow HJK players who have got rating increases to 85, such as Chris Mepham, he gets a disappointingly stingy increase. He deserves to be 85, and will be for sure when he's next reviewed, but we're going to have to wait now until the April/May review. His rating increase does cement his place as our first choice goalkeeper though, and helps to improve the spine of the side in what was previously the weakest position in the side. We're hoping that his performances can warrant a rating increase mid-season, as is sometimes the case for some of the top prospects.
    GK: Ramsdale (83), Peacock-Farrell (80), Travers (76)
    Mark Travers, 73 > 76
A nice rating increase as well for Mark Travers, who looks to be established as Bournemouth's back up goalkeeper. He's on his way to potentially challenging Peacock-Farrell as our reserve goalkeeper, and he is still very young for a goalkeeper at 20 so we're pleased with his progress.
    GK: Ramsdale (83), Peacock-Farrell (80), Travers (76)
    Strongest XI
    Ramsdale (83)
    Aarons (85) - Adarabioyo (82) - Mepham (85) - Lewis (85)
    Brooks (87) - Davies (86)
    Wan-Bissaka (87) - Cantwell (85) - James (85)
    Penaranda (83)

    Pre-Review Strongest XI
    Ramsdale (80)
    Wan-Bissaka (87) - Adarabioyo (82) - Mepham (83) - Aarons (83)
    Brooks (87) - Davies (86)
    McNeil (83) - Roberts (84) - James (85)
    Penaranda (83)
The next player due for a rating increase is Ben Wilmot, who we're hoping will get a small rating increase for his game time out on loan at Swansea. It shouldn't be enough to provide competition for a place in the first team, but provides us with good depth in that position with one of our original signings who's making solid progress in the Championship.
    Premier League Predictions
    Max Aarons, 83 > 84/85 (85)
    Jamal Lewis, 83 > 84 (85)
    Todd Cantwell, 80 > 84/83 (85)
    Aaron Ramsdale, 80 > 84 (83)
    Chris Mepham, 83 > 84/83 (85)
    Ben Wilmot, 78 > 80
