Bit of a ridiculous opinion though isn't it. Falsely playing the race card- I think you need to try growing up.

I've clarified what I meant in my original post, even though I was under no obligation to do. Your bandwagoning on Soccahappy's ridiculous behavior does nothing constructive here and only serves to inflate his ego and validate his threats.

95% of the people I know in-game don't use this sub anymore, and I have to say, after this, I'm very likely to follow suit.

So you would welcome your post being reported to SM for their consideration???

You are welcome to report whatever you'd like whenever you'd like to SM. You have no class using this as some sort of threat to get me to change my opinion.

Man-up & apologise for accusing SM of racism over something so silly as missing a rating increase. Then & only then can you be taken seriously. I could accuse them of being racist about not dealing with cheats but that would be equally stupid, ignorent & just plain wrong.  Up to you, as I say just apologise, surely you can see there is not an ounce of truth in what you said?

I don't owe an apology to SM for a damn thing. It's my opinion and I've stated and stand by it unequivocally. You've stated your disagree--fine, to each his own opinion. But an apology? Get out of here.

  4. Listen, it might just be that they're ignorant/incompetent, I concede that. I'm not trying to build a hard and fast case for racism here. But I'm saying there are few, if any, cases of missing rises that are more definite than Salah, and it does make you wonder if it is more than just incompetence at work here. After all, Strootman, Nainggolan, Dzeko, Emerson were all given risers...the only other definite riser on Roma's team was Salah.

Racism lol. Plenty of players have been missed, including Insigne who had a similar season to Salah. SW are a lot of things- good for nothing, incompetent, useless, hopeless, but not racist lol. They don't discriminate against anyway, everyone is equally missed :D

    Oh dear...

To be clear, I'm not talking about blatant racism of "he's not white so we won't give him a rise." I'm talking more subtle... you get an English player or European player with Salah's stats and he's a definite 92, perhaps even a 93. I believe subconsciously that whoever does the ratings for SM (we all know it's not soccer wiki consensus, but some guy behind the curtain) saw Salah's stats or his name or whatever and subconsciously thought that based on his background, it probably wouldn't be wrong to make him wait longer to get his rise. That's subtle racism, even if you consider racism to be a loaded term.

  6. Ahead of the new season, I wanted a permanent post where I could provide a little information on the players I was selling as justification for their price, and add or remove players as I saw fit without needing to post the information on the newsfeed all over again. So I am using this thread to do just that. My top needs this offseason are an elite or young central midfielder and elite or young highly-rated GK, ideally with Hart going the other way. However, I am open to most young talents or players with potential for growth. I also would not say no to an improved left-back, though it is not of the highest priority.

Nottingham Forest Season 18 Prep Transfer List:

Miguel Layun (Porto - 28 - 89 - D,DM,M,AM(RL)) - Transfer Price: p/e. The Mexican jack-of-all-trades started the season strongly linked with Real Madrid, but unfortunately, injury problems and a good run of form for the team during that period saw Maxi Pereira preferred over him down the stretch. This transfer season, early rumors already have him on the radar of Inter and Barcelona, and given his lack of PT down the stretch, it is probable that he takes the opportunity to start anew elsewhere. A starting role at Inter or rotation role at Barcelona would definitely put Layun in contention for a +1, adding to the already high value of a playerc who can play 8 different positions in SM.

Iborra (Sevilla - 29 - 89 - D,DM,M(C)) - Transfer Price: p/e. Sevilla's unsung hero, Iborra has managed to record another 7-goal season despite playing as a defensive midfielder for most of the season. He even recorded a hat-trick vs Celta Vigo as a centre-back! Sevilla were 8-2-2 in the games he started in the league, and 10-3-2 if we include the games he came on for at half-time. He will undoubtedly be at the center of the action next season if Sevilla are to match or surpass this season's performances. - EDIT: NOT currently available due to injury of Wijnaldum and transfer of Rooney.

Walace (Hamburg - 22 - 87 - DM,M,AM(C)) - Transfer Price: p/e. Young Brazilian midfielder was instrumental in Hamburg's dramatic escape from the relegation zone after they were favorites for the drop at the season's midpoint. Hamburg is probably well above his level, and I expect he'll move on to a bigger club in due time.

Zeneli - (Heerenveen - 22 - 85 - AM,F(RL)) - Transfer Price: p/e. Bright Swedish-Kosovan talent looked unstoppable in late 2016 before the season collapsed for Heerenveen and the club could not buy a win. The team and Zeneli will look to rebuild next season, but judging by his work in the Swedish Allsvenskan and early on in the 2016-17 Eredivisie season, he's got world-class talent that just needs to be nurtured in the right system by the right coach.

Aminu Umar (Osmanlispor FK - 22 - 85 - AM,F(RL)) - Transfer price: p/e. Sharp, direct Nigerian playing in Turkey, who is capable of creating his own opportunities and has already picked up a few caps for the Nigerian national team. Still room to grow rating-wise with his club if he can up his consistency.

Leigh Griffiths (Celtic - 26 - 85 - AM,F(C)) - Transfer price: p/e. Not much needs to be said here. Had one of the best seasons in Scottish league football history last season, and remains arguably the best player in the league. Has started to get opportunities for Scotland as well.

Others potentially available: Giovinco (if anyone would like to preagree a deal for after his TB is up, p/e), Tosun (p/e), Compper (p/e)

  7. Hey  guys,

I've decided to quit SM at the end of this season. There are many reasons for my decision: it is partly due to limited time, partly due to frustration with SM as a game and partly due to hitting a ceiling with Forest. I've done a lot of terrific work with Forest over the years, building up the squad from very little, signing top talents and roaring back from relegation twice to finish in the top four twice. At this moment I am in the setup's top five managers of all time by points, and should manage to overtake Ben & Dan by the end of the season.

Although I am very proud of my work with Forest, it cannot be denied that there still exists a massive gulf in quality between my Forest side and Liverpool, Sunderland, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham and so on. And though I make a few good signings every season, I am skeptical that I would be able to close that gap prior to season 20 or more.

What really has sealed the deal for me is SM's current rules. For whatever reason, SM has decided that I am no longer eligible to acquire newly added players. This does not seem to be tied to squad value, as I've lost out on top talents to clubs worth more than mine, and it does not seem to be tied to squad size, as Ipswich has won several of these newly added player battles over clubs much small in size and value than themselves. Constantly missing out on the top newly added talents means that my primary vehicle for improving my club, via youth player rises, is foreclosed & sharply limited. This has happened on at least ten occasions in the last ten weeks, and is likely to continue happening, as SM still have yet to explain how this random lottery is decided.

Cash injections also remain deeply problematic. Although it is good that they no longer go the big clubs, it is disheartening and unfair to spend so much time scouting risers and selling them on to make, at best, a 3-4 million profit, only to watch X club which has sat around doing little in the market for the season get a 50 mil boost to spend come the next season. Makes it all rather pointless in the end.

Finally, I would be remiss to not mention the stagnation of the transfer market. Simply put, there are maybe five to seven clubs who actively look to engage in the transfer market. Of those five to seven, two or three are looking for a tier of players possessed by only two to four other managers in the setup. Meanwhile, a solid 75%+ of the setup engages in very little to no internal transfer activity. The setup sadly comes to life most in the mid-season when a club gets a new manager who in his excitement is finally willing to do some deals to change his squad and bring in new players. This state of affairs only helps to ensure that those with the strongest squads remain strong, and takes out an important aspect of the game. If I am not mistaken, it is partially what ultimately lead Dan to leave his Liverpool.

I may change my decision, as everyone experiences the desire to leave at one point or another, which is partly why I've delayed the ultimate decision to the end of the season. I will conduct all transfer activity as I normally would until then, with the exception that I will not agree any deals with parts to be resolved in next season.

Thanks for reading, and good luck to everyone, except those facing me, with the rest of their season.

What sort off offers would i get for Dzeko ?

Somewhat interested, although would depend on what I'd be giving up.

I always like to start a season with at least one big transfer to reinvigorate the squad, and so I've been throwing bids around and sending PMs here and there. But I'd be very happy to receive offers as well. As anyone will tell ya, I always reply, whether to bids or PMs. In the market for a young RB rated 88 or higher first and foremost, and would not object to an upgrade on the wings either. Giovinco & Ben Yedder have gotten a good amount of interest, but will only be going in a p/e deal for an RB or better winger.

  9. Forest Season Update

Last season was a season of deals; our biggest deal with Raz saw Oblak & Kapustka (along with Henrique & cash) leave for Eriksen, Joe Hart, Miguel Layun. Cavani joined in exchange for Forest legend Iniesta; Savic, Umar & Pereira joined midway through in exchange for Boufal + Mor; Gonalons joined in exchange for Fortounis + Bauer; Ozyakup & Hendrix joined in exchange for RVP + Schopf, and Kovalenko also rejoined from Liverpool for Partey + Willock. To wrap up the season, veterans Lichtsteiner and Mathieu left for Mere + Pasalic and 10 mil, respectively. I also decided to ditch Paulo Oliveira, who just sold for 6.5 more than I got from external :(, for Badstuber, hoping, perhaps foolishly, that he'll stay fit this season and come good for Bayern.

This season I expect things to be far more calm. With the exception of a strong right-back, the team looks pretty solid and the aim will be on building depth. I also think I'll sit back a bit and allow my risers to rise, as lord knows that checking daily to see if SM has decided to review them only drives me crazy.

I am hoping to consolidate though; I keep signing risers and increasing my squad size, but I'd love to pass these guys on for solid players with higher ratings. I'm a little burnt out of seeking out trades, but if you see a player you like please get in touch; I'd love to do a few p/e deals to kick off the season!

  10. Hi all,

Number of things currently going on @ Forest:

1 - On the hunt for a top RB; either under 25 and 88+, or under 32 and 90+. I have been working on a deal with Stoke, but would love to talk with others in the event that does not pan out.

2 - The following guys will be TL'd soon, so do your research and lmk by in-game PM if they might interest you:

    Rodrigao (9/6), Riveros (9/20), Duarte (8/29), Ferrareis (8/31), Ermel (9/3).

3 - Players still available for loan: Politano, Younes, Jahanbakhsh, Lapadula, Ruiz, Tannane, Hanni, Kainz, Hendrix - each one of these guys is a riser so do your research and lmk by bidding if interested. I would say Younes & Lapadula are likely to rise soonest but Hendrix & Hanni have the highest potential at the moment.

4 - I'm looking to generally do 2 for 1s, where I offer two of players for one good one. Squad is bloated and is in need of shrinking for sure. If you've got an interested in a couple youth players, or Ben Yedder + a youth player, let me know.

  11. I'm sorry, it seems I misunderstood the rules. I thought we were only allowed to buy players below 85 in the game world, and that players above this were off-limits unless they rose.

In light of this confusion, I must withdraw. I do not wish to start behind the managers who understood the rules differently and bid for higher-rated players. Best of luck with the game world everyone.

  12. Did they say something along these lines?

Which I don't get. Surely the transfer side of things is something that SM can deal with

That is exactly what I got. And you're right, it is. The issue originated at SW which is what they are referencing, but that is a silly and unacceptable excuse.

  13. Sent in a bug report to get the transfer reversed.

Probably gave you the same response as me. Keep nagging where you can though. It is absolutely ridiculous that we have to put up with this and I will not stop complaining about the problem until corrective action is taken.

  14. As I'm sure many SM users are aware by now, a few weeks back a number of young talents showed up in the game's database without being listed as new players first. This caught many SM players by surprise, but once we were alerted to the fact that these players existed, we scrambled to purchase them as they were/are highly rated talents in the real world.

It turns out that the players were added to the database through some mischievous SW users. These users apparently edited old players who nobody knew about and turned them into young superstars, presumably to get an edge on the competition in their SM gameworlds and as a backdoor method of adding players not yet added to the database. Even though SW did not catch the users before their changes went through, they did eventually identify them, ban them, and reverse the changes.

The problem that has arisen and continues to exist is that after the players were changed back to what they were before they were edited, many of us, me included, were stuck with an old, worthless player, and lost between 600-800k on our investment. I opened a ticket on SM when the change occurred, only to receive the same, tired answer anyone receives when they report a player-related issue: SM has no control over SW.

Even after I explained that I was essentially being made to pay for an error on the SW-side of the game, and that it would only take one small reversal to rectify the situation, I was first shutdown again, then ignored when I opened another ticket to continue to explain myself and my case further.

I have been a member of SoccerManager since July 2009; I've had my share of grumbles about different changes and modifications to the game, but I've overwhelmingly enjoyed my experience. There are very, very few games that I've played as long as I've played SoccerManager. And yet, there is a small list of things that I will not accept. I will tolerate game changes, interface changes, game engine changes, all of it; I'm happy to adjust and continue on, even when many of my friends have called it a day. But I will absolutely not accept the absolutely atrocious customer service that I've received in the last few days. I paid for several years of gold membership and different features from SoccerManager, and donated to the campaign to get SoccerManager 2016 up and running. To be treated like a waste of time is both insulting and infuriating.

I do not know if posting here will help get this issue addressed; the cynical part of me tells me that it is unlikely that anyone with any real power will visit this thread, but the hopeful part of me says that there is always a chance. If I can get a proper response from SM on my bug ticket, addressing the problem and reversing this transaction, I will carry on enjoying the game that I've enjoyed for over six and a half years. If not, then it may be finally time to call it a day and say goodbye to SoccerManager for good.
