  1. Re: Available Teams, No Job Offers! (GC Teams Only!) I was curious so I went to check them out but they're already taken by "Otmar Hitzfield (The Second)" (is that General Gipsy?) so yea...they look nice tho, good job.
  2. Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread GC81 - My Perotta for his Toni. Do it?
  3. Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread Same deal here. His loss, my gain. =)
  4. Re: Available Teams, No Job Offers! (GC Teams Only!) the sky is falling! The sky is falling!
  5. Re: Available Teams, No Job Offers! (GC Teams Only!) I agree. I thought the Hertha I had in the GC was good, but now I have a Roma, which is by far the highest rated club I've ever managed in a GC. And there's a CSKA and Wolfsburg still out there...wowwww.
  6. Re: Available Teams, No Job Offers! (GC Teams Only!) That was my old team. I had two Udinese's and really have no vested interest in the team itself so I decided to drop one.
  7. Re: Available Teams, No Job Offers! (GC Teams Only!) Decent Racing Santander in 63 getting raided. Decent squad with 1 90, 4 89s, 1 88, and 4 87s (Missing Luis Garcia and Buss Henrique however =/). However, most of the good players have bids, if you're planning on taking over, take over fast. Oh and 2nd season just started with a win, so no worries record wise.
  8. Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread I have to say, I picked up a Real Betis in GC62 that I'm really excited about. Has roster from the end of the 2008-09 still intact, before the exodus took place, and relatively untouched aside from a couple of smart transfers from the previous manager.
  9. Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread Nothing but domestic shield matches today. Highlight was Siena beating Internazionale 3-2 in rd 3, after beating Juventus in rd 2. If I lose this cup now it'll be a darn shame lol. my other three teams, Goias 71, AS Saint Etienne 72, and OGC Nice 73, also all picked up wins.
  10. Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread I like how the ME is unrealistic when your teams are losing
  11. Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread After a couple of bad gamedays, I had a pretty good one this time around: GC73 OGC Nice 3 - 3 Grenoble Foot 38: Another draw, not really a good start with this team, but not a bad one either. Will try to turn it around next match. GC72 AS Saint-Etienne 2 - 0 AJ Auxerre: Good start with this team. First match was a 5-1 demolition of Tours FC, here Payet did all the work to take Saint-Etienne to 3rd. Only downside is that the old manager somehow managed to get demolished 6-1 by Velez Sarsfield at home in SMFA Shield, pretty much impossible to
  12. Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread Wow, terrible night, 3 losses and 2 draws (1 still to come). I'm almost tempted start cursing the match engine. I can understand my loss to Inter in GC68 with my Chievo, I looked back at my tactics and I made some dumb decisions, but my others teams got ridiculous results... Back to the drawing board EDIT: Oh, make that 4 losses. How exciting.
  13. Re: Available Teams, No Job Offers! (GC Teams Only!) Just rejected Napoli, GC68. Pretty good side, and better than the average Napoli, just having some trouble in competing (They are still in SMFA Shield though, Round 3). Hope this goes to a good manager who'll add some extra competitveness to an already competitive league.
  14. Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread Okay, well seeing as I wouldn't dare deprive Aaron of the title challange he is so greatly craving, it seems that I will be sticking with my tiny little Chievo side, at least for now. Whoever gets that Napoli side will be lucky, its actually alot better than the standard Napolis even if the previous manager made a couple of dumb trades here and there. And Aaron, don't I play you next? I think I can put that one down as a loss, my team doesn't perform very well vs the Big 3 (Juve, Milan, and Inter). Good luck though!
  15. Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread Guys, I need some advice on this one: In GC68, my tiny little Chievo are still top of the table after 17 matches, but have a very poor squad (3 88s, 2 87s), and even though my tactics have been working really well thus far into the season, they can be unpredictable and go really wrong at times (5-0 loss to Milan is prime example). Nevertheless, their ability to perform well as perennial underdogs is quite enjoyable from a manager's perspective. However, today I got an offer to take over a Napoli side in the same game world. This Napoli side
  16. Re: Official Gold Championships Discussions Thread GC10 Zaragoza 5 - 0 Real Madrid Castilla: First game in charge, won the 1st round Cup game. Good win, good squad, hopefully this will be the first of many wins for Zaragoza. GC18 CSKA Moskva 1 - 0 Rubin: I actually dominated this game with 66% possession, but somehow only managed to take one shot on goal. Going to have to watch for this trend in the future, definitely going to need more shots on goal to win games. Onto the Russian Shield Quarters. 2/2. Just picked up both sides too. Good stuff.
  17. Re: Available Teams, No Job Offers! (GC Teams Only!) Well for the last year, I've been in a lot of places...haha I remember reading their blog explaining their logic behind creating all the GCs, but I don't remember when they said they would stop. And yes, I know that GCs have been losing their value for sometime now, I'm just saying that that loss of value is occurring at a much faster pace than before.
  18. Re: Available Teams, No Job Offers! (GC Teams Only!) There's also a bunch of others good sides still left: Celtic, Sampdoria, Espanyol, etc. May be gone now, but when I checked they were there. Do you know how long they're gonna keep making new GCs on a weekly basis? I feel like they lose a bit of their value everytime a new one is created...
  19. Re: Available Teams, No Job Offers! (GC Teams Only!) I mean being the best I've ever worked with isn't saying much. I'm a very picky manager who like to start from decent sides and grow out from there so my five other current GC teams are Siena, Goias, Chievo, Genoa, and Krylia Sovetov (68-72, not respectively). So as you can see, being my best isnt saying much.
