  1. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Well, I guess I can't hate Arsenal being offered to the #1 current manager in Div4...congrats to the Rotherham United manager.
  2. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread second one this season actually
  3. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Forest barely make it past a resilient Doncaster Rovers side. Taking Ahmed Musa out seemed to knock my team back a bit...think I'll avoid taking him out in future games. Almost paid the price.
  4. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Another game where we dominate but can't make our advantage pay off. Iniesta scored with a free kick, Dzeko responded with an equalizer. 2-4-1...seems I always pick up an excessive number of draws to start the season. Hopefully we can get back to winning soon.
  5. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Hey guys, Loving all the hard work everyone is putting into 7046, from the blog articles on transfers, TOTW and everything else, to the M/R reports, to the Predictions thread. We truly are the undisputed #1 setup on SM, don't think any setup can compare with us at this point, at least not in terms of activity and member involvement. Was a tad disappointed with our result in the midweek, as we dominated possession, but a 3-3 away draw after going down 0-2 early on is not the end of the world. We'll be looking to bounce back vs Chelsea; they're
  6. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Have to say, those of yall who are able to spend 2.2 mil on youngsters worth 300k who won't even see semi-regular game time for at least a year or so...I envy you. Then again, you're probably not losing 600k a week (300k a game).
  7. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread I know I've always been against naming and shaming...but this one was too good to pass up. Not mad, I appreciate the cheekiness...just wanted to share it with the rest of the 7046 world Unfortunately, Forests' cash is starting to dry up, but after something like 30-40 youth transfers, I think I'm pleased with our business. N'Koulou's money has been well spent
  8. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Was so close to making it three wins in a row, but City equalized at the very end to grab 1-1 draw. Definitely a fair result on the balance of play though. Up next, Huddersfield. Will be fun to finally be able to play non-defensive tactics
  9. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Didn't realize Dirk Kuyt was a former Boro player...makes his success with us all the more sweeter
  10. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread At least you've been offered a job once upon a time not that I would leave Forest for any team in this setup but it still would be nice! That man Dirk Kuyt makes it five goals in four games as we claim a tight 1-0 win over Liverpool. Knew it was gonna be a tough game after they mauled City last week' date=' but decided to play a little risky with a five man backline after halftime (which almost always backfires on me) and it paid off. Even better, Anyukov followed the trend of under-performing players beginning to turn up by assisting the w
  11. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Right there with you. Don't even know what to do; if I hold onto my cash, it'll disappear in a matter of weeks, so it's not like this system is restoring value back to cash in that manner... SM is trying too hard to reach a level of realism that is simply not fun. In reality, big clubs dominate and little clubs stand no chance; who wants to play in a game like that?
  12. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Have to say SM have thrown a real curve ball at us with this last game update. It seems player deals will pretty much be extinct from this point onward, and risers will either have to be kept or sold for cash, as buying external players via p/e now seems very difficult. By far the worst of the recent changes imo.
  13. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread For the record' date=' 88+s can't go on loan anymore in SM. One of them new developments of theirs. Always love your previews Longnose. Glad you noticed how that worked out!
  14. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread It wasn't easy by any means, but we managed to pickup our first win of the season. My somewhat drastic moves paid off; Trasch, Anyukov's replacement, fared far better than Anyukov normally does, and Schafer also did a solid job. Berbatov especially responded well to his new substitute role, bagging two assists. Ahmed Musa scored the winner and won MoTM on his debut, and Kuyt continued his fine scoring form with another goal, making his the league's top scorer alongside Mario Gomez. With Liverpool absolutely annihilating Manchester City, it'll
  15. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Yes he's old, but after an 18-goal season for Rayo Vallecano in La Liga, I couldn't avoid picking him up. Would be crazy if he didn't get a +1/+2 soon...put in a loan bid before that happens so you can reap the benefits.
  16. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread I can officially confirm that Berbatov is a useless striker, at least at Forest. Had at least four good chances, all of which went begging. If anyone is interested in him, get in touch, would love to swap for a half-decent striker, especially in a 2 for one deal.
  17. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread After enough pestering, and Saleh Gomaa is finally coming to Forest. Lost out in the initial race to sign him, and as such had to pay over the top to finally bring him in, but I do think it'll pay off. Star of the Egyptian U-20 team, and soon to be an Egyptian international I'm sure. Also looks likely to move to Borussia Dortmund very soon after a successful trial there a few weeks back. Also recently brought in Thorgan Hazard for 6.5 mil to my youth team, think he'll be a good asset for Chelsea not this year but the following one. Also, wou
  18. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Very pleased with my first few transfers of the new season. Hugo Almeida's gone for a decent sum prior to his drop, and Schaars has been exchanged for Kuyt, who gives me an additional 90 who I can play upfront as back-up for Berbatov (along with Ruiz). Plus he's one of my favorite players Still trying to shed some of the depth and lessen the player count at Forest though, meaning I'm still looking to do 2-for-1 deals. Also, if you're a smaller club looking for good loans, a great way to grab the best loan players I have is to put a loan bid fo
  19. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Looking to get all my transfers sorted by this Friday at the latest; after that, I will start accepting loan bids and will not be cancelling those loans unless I receive mind-boggling offers that I cannot turn down. Fairly satisfied with where my squad is now; only minor tweaks could take this from being a top 10 side to being a top 4 side, and we'll see if I can get any of those tweaks done before Friday. In other news, loan list for smaller clubs: Aluisio Moraes (5th top scorer in Ukraine; good chance of +1/+2) Jozy Altidore (outside chanc
  20. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Think he's referring to "retarded" not being an appropriate synonym to stupid or crazy...similar to how "gay" is sometimes used as a synonym for something unpleasant, stupid or unlikable. These terms have become negatively stigmatized by society, and so they aid in the stigmatization of those actually retarded (mentally handicapped) or actually gay (homosexual). So basically craig would prefer you use a more appropriate term
  21. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Think that's our best ever, right?
  22. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Very keen on offloading Ibrahim Afellay & Jadson, two 90s who really aren't at risk of losing that rating. Just too heavy on the wings and looking to bring in more elite players or solid talents. If you've got players at either side of the spectrum and are interested in quality wingers, hit me up.
  23. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Also, anyone read the recent game changes? I get the whole make it easier for the little guys thing, but it's kind of getting out of hand at this point. Especially automatic wage increases? That was one of the biggest things about scouting risers, was it not? EDIT: I suppose I'm okay with the 92+ thing, will be nice to see the big guys struggle a bit more with wages, but I'm not sure about the whole automatic wage increase thing, tho everyone knows its not like im swimming in risers or anything
  24. Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread Willing to part with Stijn Schaars (89 CM' date=' DM, LM) for a modest fee. I think people need to calm down a bit. Raz may badger the (blank) out of the people whose players he wants, but almost always he offers them a good deal. Makes me wonder if his team ever actually improves , but that's a question for another day (jokes Raz, jokes). I agree with the general message, but with the exception of Peterborough, who just sold everyone they had, the managers who've come in new have held their own pretty well. I'm with the Ipswich manager;
