Re: Thomas Eisfeld - New Arsenal signing

and no such name in Germany U19, U21?

Leitner played four games and scored once for U21..

maybe Dortmond has entered such a golden era that someone like Fabregas have to leave Barca and develop overseas.. yeah they just brought Reus for next season

But if you watched the Japanese comic: キャプテン翼 or "Flash Kicker" in Eng and "Die tollen Fußballstars" in German, some mysterious German talents that people only heard of but never seen would suddenly appear and shine when the appropriate time has come.

Re: Thomas Eisfeld - New Arsenal signing

In his defense' date=' he only hadn't appeared for the first team at Dortmund because of his long term injury.[/quote']

Actually, he's never even been close to the first team, not even the reserve/U23 team. Not before his injury, and not after his injury.

As harsh and arrogant it may sound, he moved for one simple reason, and that's because he has a bigger chance of first team football at Arsenal than he has at Dortmund, where there are actually half a dozen of players - and all of them are only insignificantly older, or even younger than him - ahead of him in Götze, Kagawa, Lewandowski, Perisic, Gündogan & Leitner, and for next season, there's also Reus, Bittencourt and Amini coming...

Re: Thomas Eisfeld - New Arsenal signing

it doesnt matter what was his situation at borussia ,from what i`ve seen in the game for arsenal reserves the other night he has talent and what matters is to work hard ,stay injury free and under wenger`s guidance he has a good shot to flourish into the kind of player he wants to be.

Re: Thomas Eisfeld - New Arsenal signing

I'm not saying he's bad but comparing him in the same sentence as Iniesta is just stupid.

The comparison is, whereby you earlier stated, that because he is 19 and only just getting into the reserves. He will not become anything. I offered the example that Iniesta didnt play first team until 22.

Ian Wright didnt turn pro till 22/23.

There are countless other examples.

It is harsh, to dismiss someone as not going to make it, at such a young age.

And the comparison with Gotze is only there because he is from Dortmund. An endless amount of players get these kind of tags, but that is just usually media hype! So take it with a pinch of salt.

Thats not to say, that this guy will not make it. But its unfair to also say, that he wont either!

lmao.. even if he manages to avoid serious injuries or become one of Wenger's sitting vase' date=' he'll be sold for $$$. Wait.. sorry this is not Arsenal's thread, just the player, just the player.

Gotze's not even a year older and he already has "the new Gotze" guys walking around, epic! :P

This is from owngoal.com right?
