Sale at Spurs

With the end of the season looming, Tottenham boss Ross Philp is getting rid of his season one duds, and has named them in a press conference there.

''Want defenders? Well for sale at the club is Javier Garrido, Michael Dawson and Ledley King. After a great first season, Pascal will be going nowhere''.

''If its midfielders you are after, then you're in luck. Get bidding for Didier Zokora, Stijn Schaars and also Ndri Romaric''.

''Midfield/Striker supremo Ryan Babel is also free to leave. With a first season which was injury-plagued, Ryan has been told to find a new club''.

SPFC_1935_800x600.jpg

Season endings is new begginings for Brasilian outfit Sao Paulo as Scottish born coach Friel takes charge at the Morumbi stadia.

Friel's first game in charge was at Pachuca

which say his side pick up a impressive 4-2 win away from home.

A Goal from DAGOBERTO in the second minute was the first of many to come, poor communication with the back line led to Dago slotting home.

Just 9 minutes later Pachuca equalised after SPFC's GK

(Bosco) fumbled a easy strike and let in FRANQUART's shot

Next up for Sao Paulo was Williamis SOUZA with a powerfull header straight into the back of the net

Sao Paulo kept up the hard work right after half time and it paid off for Ribeiro THIAGO whos shot cannoned off the crossbar but unfortunatly for Pachua the ball landed at his feet and score a tap in

63 Minutes gone Pachuca pulled one back with central midfileder Omar ARELLANO latching on to a through ball rounding the keeper and giving Pachuca a chance of a comeback

This was not to be though as Henrique HUGO put the game beyond dought with a unfashionable toe poke just minutes later

It was a impressive win for Friel's squad who kept hold of the ball and made thier chances count unlike Pachuca who had 17 shots with just 12 on target.

News from the Lane

With a huge transfer kitty, and a few players such as Babel and King to use in exchange, Tottenham have set their sights on a top striker. Atm they are looking at Liverpool's Dirk Kuyt, and are possibly set to make a bid which will include Liverpool target Ryan Babel.

Babel, has gained much interest over the last day or so, and a bid of over £25m has been made, as has a decent offer from Atletico. Both bids will be considered greatly before a decision is made.

Another target is Atletico's Yakubu who Philp greatly admires, and where a similar deal will be offered. With that similar deal, Sergio Aguero, Nikola Zigic, da Silva Eduardo. He is also pondering over launching a cash bid for Liverpool forward Andriy Voronin, who is lacking in match action at Liverpool - He doesn't however, know of the Ukrainian's availability.

It looks as though Javier Garrido is off in a deal worth around £20m. It has been agreed verbally, but an official bid has not yet been made.

A reminder to all managers that Paul Robinson, Michael Dawson, Ledley King, Didier Zokora, Ndri Romaric, Stijn Schaars, and of course Ryan Babel are all for sale. Cash deals are acceptable, however player exchange is more likely to be accepted.

Re: Gold Championship 7

Sporting Boss Slams his "lazy" team in an astonishing Attack!

Manager Tim Sansoms Sporting, who have all but lost all chances of a european spot next season, unless they can pull off a victory against Desportivo Nacional, and win by 7-0, have seen their season, and dreams of champions league football completely evaporate with a period of 3 games, and only 1 point of out those games.

After a run of 6 consecutive wins, with 6 games left sporting looked to be heading for a high league position, as at the time they were 2nd behind permanent leaders porto, who unfortunately for all managers in the Mediterranean league, is a complete and utter cheat who did a great job of giving the non cheating managers no chance :P .

latest results:

27 Oct Division 1 A 0 - 1 Galatasaray

31 Oct Division 1 H 0 - 1 Vitoria Setubal

03 Nov Division 1 A 0 - 0 Crvena Zvezda

Manager tim sansom was as baffled as anyone why his team suddenly lost their previous form and only managed 1 point from 9, slipping from 2nd place to 6th. they didnt even manage to score a goal as lisbon seemed to give up all hope.

Transfer Activity:

After Nicolae Dica, the AM / F who sansom bought for £9.2m a few weeks ago, rose to 89 in the ratings, sansom has decided that the following players are available for loan or transfer, depending on how sansom feels he can replace them:

NEKOUNAM, Javad: CM / DM 27 / 88

ASSOU-EKOTTO, Benoit - LB / 23 / 86

AREIAS, Miguel LB 30 85

DEMBELE, Moussa F/AM 20 88

JORGINHO, Luiz F/AM 30 87

the following players have transfer bans of 27th Dec and 15th Dec respectively but are both available for loan or transfer:

SEKTIOUI, Tarik F/W 30 86

ZELAO, Luiz Ricardo CB 22 86.

If you are interested in any of these players, please PM me via either the forum or main game :)

News From The Vincente Calderon

With the recent SMFA Cup promotion to Atletico Madrid, Team manager Havoc has announced that none of his key players will be leaving for no amount of cash as he is going to need them for depth. Havoc has already admitted to making one costly mistake at the start of this season by dealing El Kun to Liverpool for a needed CM.The deal was a good deal at the time, but now looks like Liverpool got the best of the deal.

Atletico Madrid season is coming to end with only one game remaining against Osasuna and the result from this game will have a huge impact on the number 2 and number 3 seed in La Liga

The club's dynamic duo, Sol Campell and Robin van Persie have been declared by Sir Travis as for sale. The squad will let them go only if a decent amount of cash is offered, and players that are offered must be 90+. They have also noted Berbatov and Torres as potential targets.

"All this season it has been about the battle of Madrid, Real this, Atletico that, but my team professionally went about the business of winning games and this is their reward. We may not have won the league but finishing 2nd is still a fine achievement and a great platform to work on for next season. Congratulations to Real madrid who won the league easily in the end, but we are the 2nd best team in Spain -the table doesn't lie."

Sevillas transfer targets will be decided in due course

News From The Vicente Calderon

Terrible Finish, Someone Should Be Fired

Atletico Madrid controlled it's own destiny today, and they blew it. The team seemed to fade away down stretch and today's 1-0 defeat to Osasuna proves it. Atletico Madrid played a good game by stats, having possession 54% of the time, having 23 shots on goal, having 13 on target on a 85 goalie but just couldn't score

Atletico Madrid finished a sorry third place in what started as a promising season. The team did manage to claim the Spanish Cup and have a trophy to show for the season as the second place team Sevilla can only say we finished second.

Team manager Havoc says there will be some roster moves to come and offer to be sent out as soon as the season finished and next season start. He has been in contact with fellow Madrid manager Simon and is believed that they have come to terms to loan 3 players to Atletico Madrid. Miguel Torres,Viera Marcelo, and Gonzalo Higuain.

SEASON RECAP

Atletico Madrid where determined to bring in top youth quality at the season start and they did just that by signing these 90+ players threw out the season

Robinho 8 goals 7 assist and 3 MoM

Quaresma 14 goals 14 assist and 2 MoM

Fred 12 goals 10 assist and 6 MoM

Sissoko 9 goals 9 assist

Mavuda 6 goals 5 assist and 2 MoM

Yakabu 4 goals 4 assist

Nasri 3 goals 6 assist

Atletico Madrid's Captain Fernando Torres was the biggest part of the success the team had while putting up great numbers, 22 Goals, 18 Assist and 11 MoM

The Spanish Cup champs are looking to improve on this season next season. So stay tuned

Notes Grats Simon and Jacko, next season you will not be so lucky as i plan to be back with a vengance :D

Aston Villa Season One Review

astonvilla2.jpg

June 23rd and Aston Villa named life long supporter Leamington Steve as there new manager who would hopefully lead them into a season full of honours. With a limited supply of money to recruit new players LS weeded out the players that wouldnt play a part at the club. That meant the exit from Villa Park for Lee Hendrie, Patrick Berger, Didier Agathe, Eric Djemba Djemba, Chris Sutton and Stephen O'Halloran.

Three players arrived before the new season started with Mirko Vucinic arriving from Roma for £11,300,000, Mido from Tottenham for £8,000,000 and Peter Luccin from Athletico Madrid for £10,000,000.

PeterBernardLuccin_01.jpg28year old midfielder Luccin.

The team was ready now for the season to start on the 30th June and a trip to the JJB to meet Wigan. Not a good start for Villa going down two nil to Herewards side. Further disapointment was dealt at home when Manchester City won four two in what would be a great season for Colin Barkers City.

Villa Park saw Villa's first point of the season as they came from two down to draw with Leigh Auston's Chelsea, then followed another draw with Nellers Newcastle United to leave Villa winless in four. Craven Cottage witnessed a rampant Villa tear Fulham apart to win four nil and give a first win to the visitors. After five matches Villa were in 14th place with five points.

League action halted with a victory in the cup over Stoke, before defeats in the league to Derby County and Manchester United. A much needed win in the shield over Huddersfield lifted the gloom at Villa Park.

Leamington Steve then pulled off a shock signing as Salomon Kalou agreed to join from Chelsea(thanks Leigh) with Gabriel Agbonlahor going the other way and £11,000,000 in cash.

_42637721_kalou416.jpg400x400_GabrielAgbonlahorNew.jpg

Kalou in Gabby out

Kalou debuted as Neller JNR brought his Liverpool side to Villa Park and with ten men they took a point before more woe for Villa with defeat to Bolton at the Reebok.

The cup brought a welcome victory as Villa just edged it over Dagenham and Redbridge and then carried that momentum on as a much needed league victory came over Sunderland. The poor run saw Villa down to 16th with ten played.

Things fell apart at Goodison as Bryans Everton easily won four one. Back to winning ways in the shield over Oldham in round two began a run of unbeaten games for the Villa as Blackburn and Arsenal were defeated in the league, Derby were seen off in the cup on penalties then wins over Middlesbrough and Reading helped the league position as Villa went 10th and another victory in the shield over Brentford.

Seven games unbeaten was ended by Tottenhams visit to Villa Park as Ross's side took the points.

European action returned to Villa Park with the visit of SV Salzburg in the SMFA Shield and progressed with a two one win. This then helped Villa onto success over Portsmouth in the league. The cup run ended with defeat at St James Park as Newcastle knocked Villa out.

West Ham were defeated in the league then Villa knocked Blackburn out of the SMFA Shield second round. The big derby game at St Andrews saw the blue half of Birmingham celebrating as city won three one. A second half fight back gave Villa the win over Hull in the fourth round of the Shield.

The season turn around saw Guiranne Ndaw make his debut after signing from Sochaux for £10,500,000 but Wigan were victors again and Villa were in 11th with twenty games played. The SMFA Shield interrupted again and Zenit St Petersburg were beaten two nil. Defeat in the league to Manchester City was then forgotten about with a win over Chelsea at the bridge.

Villa travelled to River Plate for the SMFA Shield quarter final and a tree one win booked a semi final spot. A league win followed over Newcastle and a shield win over Coventry made it four wins in a row before Fulham held Villa to a one all draw.

A huge game in europe came as Villa welcomed Sporting in the semi finals. Tim Sansoms side proved tough opponents in an even game but Villa ran out three one winners and booked a final appearance at Wembley against Adamski's Spartak Moscow.

After the european heroics Villa came down to earth at Derby with a heavy defeat before another league disaster against Manchester United which left Villa in 10th after 26matches. The two league defeats were put behind them as the SMFA final came. Only half full Wembley were treated to six goals and 120minutes of exciting football. The game decided on penalties went Villas way and a first piece of silverware.

ASTON VILLA, SMFA SHIELD CHAMPIONS

player-image-56469.jpgJenas left out in the cold at Spurs joined.

A five game unbeaten run celebrated the success in europe with wins over Liverpool, Newcastle in the shield semi final albeit on penalties. Jermaine Jenas joined from Tottenham for a club record £14,500,000 and made his debut in the league win over Bolton and then victory over Sunderland and a draw with Everton left Villa in 9th and just outside the european spots with eight games left. A dissapointing defeat to Blackburn followed before the Shield final against Barnsley of division three. Oddly enough nearly a full house at Wembley for this one and Villa had to win another tie on penalties thats five shootouts this season all victorious and the shield was won.

Held to a draw by Arsenal, Villa beat Middlesbrough only to lose to Reading. Jenas returned to White Hart Lane as Villa narrowly came away with three points and sit 8th in the table. The final three games saw only one win with Villa beating Portsmouth before defeat to West Ham meant that finishing in the top eight would depend on other results. As it happened old rivals Birmingham settled things for Villa by beating them two one and ending the season on a sore note.

leaguehk3.jpg

Villa finished ninth in a season that saw them go all the way in europe and also winning the Shield. Hopefully season two will be just as exciting.

Sporting Throw Away Yet another Chance, but Sansom fails to keep his cool!

Desportivo Nacional 3 - 2 Sporting Lisbon

the two midfielders, allesandro rosina and nigel de jong got the goals, as in the final match of the season, sporting lost once again, and finished the season without a win for 4 matches. with marek cech sent off, who sansom vows will be reprimanded, it was always going to be an uphill task, even though most managers would accept that sporting easily should have won this match.

transfer news:

sporting were pipped to signing defensive midfielder gary medel, so sansom has switched targets and will make a bid for a midfielder today. on his way out of sporting is midfielder javad nekounam who leaves for genoa for £12.1m, a 2.5m profit for lisbon.

roumers:

zenit striker robin van persie is a player sansom has always admired and sansom is not ruling out signing the dutch star.

Re: Gold Championship 7

Manager - George_EC_MU

Team, Division - Zaragoza, Spain

Finishing position, Points - 12th, 47pts

Season in words - George's season in Spain didn't start off well, with only eight points in eight games. These matches also contained a 8-1 hammering at the hands of Barcelona, and a shield defeat to Valencia. The next eight games were different as they progressed through two rounds of the cup, beating Real Madrid and thumping Malaga. Out of a possible 18 points, they picked up 11 in this set of matches. Four straight defeats followed, with the departure from the SMFA Shield to Benfica, but then they went to the semi final of the cup in which they were later knocked out by Valencia. 12 out of 27 were picked up in the league, before Zaragoza went five games unbeaten, winning three of those matches, before losing to Valencia. They seemed to have bounced back with a win at Valladolid, but then lost four league matches on the bounce. They won their last league match 3-0 against Athletico Bilbao. All in all, a poor season for the club's aims.

Best result(s) - Real Madrid 0-1 Zaragoza; Espanyol 2-6 Zaragoza.

Worst result(s) - Barcelona 8-1 Zaragoza; Zaragoza 3-7 Sevilla.

Top goalscorer(s) - Claudio Pizarro(12); Diego Milito(12)

Top performer - Diego Milito(8.03)

Top transfer(s) in - Simone Perrotta(£22m) from Roma.

Top transfer(s) out - Pablo Aimar(£12m + David Pizarro) to Roma.

The season ahead - Well George will be looking for big things from his team this season, and will at least look for a top eight finish. It was a poor first season, and they can only improve. Good luck George :)

Re: Gold Championship 7

Manager - Tom-aldinho

Team, Division - CSKA Moskva, Eastern Europe

Finishing position, Points - 1st, 91pts

Honours - Division One; Eastern Europe Cup

Season in words - CSKA went 19 matches unbeaten in all competitions at the beginning of the season, in doing so semi-final of the Eastern Europe cup, and the quarter final of the Eastern Europe shield. Along the way, they conceded less than one goal per game, and in the nineteen matches, scored 56 goals. An incredible record, which saw them sit comfortably at the top of the league. They were then defeated in the Eastern Europe Shield at home to Spartak, just before their European campaign got underway, in a group with Real Madrid, Internazionale and Toulouse. They lost 3-0 away to Inter, then progressed into the final of the cup, held Real Madrid in Moscow, before losing 2-1 to Toulouse at home. They won the cup 5-0 against FK Tom, and went on to beat Internazionale, Real Madrid and Toulouse, to progress from Group D. In their last 13 matches in the league, they went unbeaten, winning 11 of those matches. However, their European conquest came to an end as they were defeated by eventual winners Liverpool, 3-1 in the Dinamo Stadium.

Best result(s) - FK Tom 1-7 CSKA; CSKA 6-1 Lokomotiv Moskva.

Worst result(s) - CSKA 1-2 Toulouse; Saturn Ramenskoe 3-1 CSKA.

Top goalscorer - Vagner Love(28)

Top performer - Vagner Love(8.61)

Top transfer(s) in - Luis Robles(£7m + P.E) from Atlas.

Top transfer(s) out - Sergei Ignashevich(£13.4m + P.E) to Benfica.

The season ahead - After an excellent first season, running away with the league, Tom will look for more of the same this season. Another cup would be welcomed and they will look to go even further in the SMFA Champs Cup.
