Re: PURGATORY - The most volatile landscape in Soccer Manager

Its not fair' date=' Barcelona win every game. I'm unbeaten but still 4 points behind :o

Better news is that Alexis Rolin 75 --> 84 B)[/quote']

We'll all be in that same boat next season. I'm 95% sure I'll be coming down, hanging on by a thread at the moment by a point. Pretty happy with 2 wins from 7 tbh but I doubt I'll stay up. I also don't think I'll be able to challenge the Minion that is in Purgatory next season either, we'll see.

I find it very interesting that Montaneros, Prestatyn, and Fjolnir seems to be losing badly, consistantly. I sense more than just conincidence. These teams trying to manufacture a relegation to get the stadium increase maybe? Be careful what you wish for, it's goin' to be very hard to get out of there!

Does anybody know if Kylan at Granit got a cash injection from his relegation as well as a capacity increase? Even so, I don't think we'll be seeing him back in Purgatory anytime in the forseeable seasons.

Still say it is wiser to avoid Hell at all costs.

CONFIRMED FACTS:

Nothing confirmed so far. Technically anyone can still finish anywhere.

STORIES TO WATCH:

Cules are continuing to win every league game they play. They are currently sitting with a maximum 24 points from 24 in games scoring 32 goals and conceding only 2. They look almost certain to occupy the Stairway To Heaven place this season.

Angels Lupi are currently really underachieving though recent results have suggested improvement and just this passed week they beat the mighty Cules to take a last 4 place in The Everlife Cup.

It is beginning to look like a 3 warrior smackdown for weho slips into Hell this time around. Fjolnir got a vital win this matchday, but Montaneros and Prestatyn are both in indescribable form. Prestatyn look most doomed as they are still 3 points behing their Spanish rival having only picked up a single point do far.

Last seasons last day escapees Vindava have mustered up 10 points are only a couple more wins will see them safe.

Poor Mortals Granit are struggling massively and with just 3 points to show for their efforts so far it is a very likely fact that they will still occupy the lowliest place of the underworld come matchday 18.

Re: PURGATORY - The most volatile landscape in Soccer Manager

I think this gameworld will be end sooner that everyone expected.

Barca is really unstoppable.

Next season will be the last season.

Not sure what you mean by that.

The game world doesn't end when a minion wins Heaven. In fact, if you read 'the prophecy' in the opening post, it is foretold that the minions WILL take Heaven. It is us Mortals that are the only hope of taking it back and banishing the minions back to Hell.

The only way for the gameworld to end is for a Mortal to win Heaven and complete their quest. So by saying you think it will end in Season III means you think a Mortal team will win Heaven in that season. There may not even be a Mortal in Heaven in Season III as I would have to be the favourite to be relegated back to Purgatory this season and as you predict Cules (Barcelona) will almost certainly be promoted into Heaven this season.

The only way it will end in Season III is if I stay up this season and then win the Heaven title next season which I think is extremely unlikely.

I honestly believe I read somewhere in first page that the world be end if Mortal/Minion win the Heaven league.

Is that wrong?

Yes that is wrong,

I fully expect a Minion to win the Heaven throne position before a mortal does. It is the story that is expected to happen. The idea of the GW is to be the Mortal team that wins it back. Only once a Mortal team sit's atop Heaven's Throne (first place in Division 1) does this game world end and the story come to a conclusion.

Well, that give some sort of relief then.

Re: PURGATORY - The most volatile landscape in Soccer Manager

Hello fellow mortals, allow me to introduce myself as I shall be taking over the reigns at Stjarnan and officially join you all in - 'The Fellowship of the Everlife'.

I've been a semi-frequent reader of this thread (and have re-read every page again!!) since the launch of the gameworld back in May when I was lucky enough to be chosen as a 'MORTAL AWAITING THEIR CALL', well my time has come to take over from a fine job drseanfitz has done, but it is now time to push this warrior onto the next level!!

My start couldn't be tougher with Cules in my first game and Lupi straight up after them, it is a baptism of fire, but it is a challenge I am willing to accept.

I have been left with some top players in Verratti, El Kaddouri, Digne, Ocampos and Dybala but some serious changes are going to be needed in order to get ourselves in the shape to get out of Purgatory (the right end) and make an assault on Heaven, especially challenging with a bank balance of £1.0m! We look safe as far as season 2 is concerned, with enough time to get Stajrman into shape ahead of season 3.

I hope you all are willing to accept me on this quest, some I know well, others I know by only your legend, but here's to overthrowing Hell's Minions and conquering Heaven!!

Re: PURGATORY - The most volatile landscape in Soccer Manager

themortalscup.png

SEASON II

Time for the Season II Mortals Cup!

Once again, a recap of how this works -

  • The Mortals Cup is made up of the ten Mortal Warriors in Purgatory.

  • The 'Mortal Warriors' are simply the teams that started off in the Purgatory Division, and are the only managed teams inthe setup.

  • The warriors are drawn randomly into a bracket that involves a preliminary qualifying round of 2 fixtures with 4 warriors competing 1-on-1.

  • The other 6 warriors get a buy into Round I.

  • The matches are one-off matches that must be decided on the day. There are no replays.

  • If a match is drawn, here are the ways in which they are separated -

  1. The warrior with the most strikes on target (shots on target) goes through to the next round.

  2. The warrior with the better control of the match (possesion) will advance.

  3. If still not separated (which is very unlikely), both teams are eliminated.

  4. In the event of the above tie being a Semi Final, I will chose a participant to go through to the Final (There will ALWAYS be a Final). This will be based on my opinion on who to advance looking at the stats of the match.

  • For this edition, and future editions of The Mortals Cup, the Holder automatically recieves a buy into Round I. This season, that warrior will be Vindava.

  • Every Round is Drawn at one time, so you will be able to plot your route to the final and who you will likely be facing in each round.

So, no more messing around, here is the complete draw for the Purgatory Mortals Cup Season II.

PRELIMINARY QUALIFYING ROUND

Saturday September 15th 2012

MATCH I

Vikingur v Petrovac

MATCH II

Decic v Prestatyn

ROUND I

Wednesday September 19th 2012

MATCH III

MATCH VII

Winner Match III v Fjolnir

MATCH VIII

Winner Match IV v Winner Match V

FINAL

So for those of you that are listed as being at home, and you know your opponent, regardless of it being a qualifying match, or Round I match, you can go ahead and make the relevant challenge now (the qualifying matches, and 2 of the Round I matches can now be made).

Any quaestions, please ask!

Re: PURGATORY - The most volatile landscape in Soccer Manager

i'll have what my chairman is having lol :P. just saw which teams are in my division . anyway i'm not quitting right away tho B)

Should also be noted at this point for the interested parties that we can finally answer the question of whether or not the relegated side to Hell got a cash injection.

The answer is a resounding YES THEY DID!! I am not sure for how much, but their current balance is 90m!!!

So out of all the Mortal teams, Granit are actuallyl in the healthiest situation on paper with a stadium capacity of 33,281, and a 90m transfer kitty. Their only problem is ofcourse that they are stuck in Hell, however with that amount of money, they could use that financial clout to buy the better players from the other Mortals for their max value to help get them out of debt while also making Granit's team much better.

Going to be interesting to see how things go for them.

Racky's idea of sabotaging his own season to try to go down to get those bonuses in capacity and cash injection may well pay off nicely. He's doing a great job of making sure he loses every game. Montaneros have conceded 36 goals in the last 3 games, scoring none! The only downfall of this tactic is being stuck in Hell, only time will tell if the tactic will pay off.
