Bayern Munich Legacy

bayern-munchen-munich-logo-crest.gif

So on Sunday the 3rd of June 2012 I took over Bayern Munich in World Championship 20589.

I have decided to document my going ons in this gameworld as I clearly have too much time on my hands, and also to keep some interest in the game and also the forum for myself.

I intend to build a side capable of being successful in this set up, and for many more seasons to come. I got the initiative from a previous side I built. I had left them a little while ago, but returned to that set up to see how things had grown, and the squad i built over my first few years of playing the game has blossomed brilliantly.

Now I know gameworlds are hardly competitive on the transfer front, as well as match results, but this is just for a little bit of fun, and if anyone takes the time to read then I hope you enjoy.

Star Names Leave Munich

New Bayern Munich manager, Joe Robinson, has wasted no time in making changes to his side, and he has started by selling two of the clubs star players in Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.

Ribery has moved to England and joined Manchester United in a deal which sees Luis Nani and Danny Welbeck move to Munich. On top of this was a sum of £5,000,000.

Robinson on Ribery deal

Initially I was thinking of keeping Franck here, however alot of interest came up for him. And when the offer came in from Manchester United I reluctantly accepted. We're getting two quality players here, one of which is still developing in Danny (Welbeck) so it's a good deal for us as we have a proven replacement in Nani.

And also departing Bayern is Dutch winger Arjen Robben who has moved to Catalan giants Barcelona. Robben leaves with Alcantara Thiago and a healthy sum of £25,000,000 going into the bank balance.

Robinson on Robben deal

Barcelona were always interested in signing Robben. From the word go there were enquiries. The fact they were willing to offer a fair sum of cash in this deal is what did it for me, as we can use to cash on other players in the external market. We've also got Thiago coming in, who looks a real talent and he can be a big player for us in the coming seasons.

New Faces Galore At The Allianz

bayern-munchen-munich-logo-crest.gif

Bayern Munich have continued to bring in new players ahead of their season opener against Manchester City on Sunday night. Many of the new signings have been midfielders, and also a marquee signing in Cameroonian international, Samuel Eto'o. With the inclusion of Eto'o, the strike force at Bayern is strengthened considerably with many fans licking their lips at the prospect of Eto'o partnering up front with Mario Gomez.

Bayern Munichs new strike force : Samuel Eto'o & Mario Gomez

Another big name signing was the capture of Luka Modric from Tottenham Hotspur. In the opposite direction go Toni Kroos and Jerome Boateng. Robinson made it clear that bringing in another strong cental midfielder was key to his plans.

Robinson on Eto'o and Modric

Well many will see the signing of Eto'o as a bit of a risk due to his rating inevitably dropping. But for me he is still a quality striker and I'm sure he will work brilliantly with Mario (Gomez) up front this season, and for many seasons to come. Signing Luka (Modric) is massive for us. You win and lose games in the midfield so to have Bastian Schweinsteiger and Luka Modric in our central midfield positions is brilliant.

Other new faces in the side have been brought in for the future. The likes of Jordy Clasie, Markus Henriksen and Julian Draxler shows Bayern are preparing for the future as well as building a strong side for the present.

£18million Secures Alex Song

5676_1336817667.jpg

Bayern Munich have secured the services of Alex Song from Arsenal for a fee of £18,000,000. The deal looks to be the last for Robinson before their season opener with Manchester City, and the Bayern Munich first 11 is now looking very formidable indeed.

Robinson outlined the following formation and players as his main 11

Neure

Rafinha - Badstuber - Lahm

Song

Nani - Schweinsteiger - Modric - Muller

Gomez - Eto'o

Robinson on the Song deal and the season ahead.

I am a massive fan of Song. Not only does he have the ability to break the play up, he is also very good technically. His passing is sublime, last season I saw many examples of this brilliant aspect of his game, and I was delighted when the Arsenal manager told me he was available, also just for cash which was a bonus. It does mean we had to pull out on some deals for some younger talented players, but they're still in our plans.
