Goals from highly sought after Younes Belhanda and Karim Ait-Fana sealed all three points in an end-to-end game. The win puts us third in the table as we prepare to face Lyon at home on Wednesday. Stevoo 10
Re: Gold Championship 174 Thread Downing Off to Birmingham! England international Stewart Downing is on his way to St Andrews for a medical and to complete the contract signing. Downing will slot in on Birmingham's left side and supply crosses to the man mountain Nikola Zigic. Manager Stevens has made some interesting transfers already this signing and this will hopefully see his side back to the Premiership. Sadly Jack Butland is going in the other direction as well as 8 million. But Birmingham Manager has managed to negotiate a deal for Alexander Doni in return.
Thack271 262
Re: Gold Championship 174 Thread MONTPELLIER HSC UPDATE Montpellier HSC 2 - 1 Lyon Karim Ait-Fana (32) Younes Belhanda (38) Bafetimbi Gomis (88) A great win for us tonight against a strong Lyon team sees us move up into 2nd place in the table after 2 games. Belhanda and Ait-Fana have started well scoring in both games which is good to see. 1 Paris Saint-Germain 2 4 62 MONTPELLIER HSC 2 3 6 3 Marseille 2 2 6 4 AS Saint-Etienne 2 3 4 TRANSFER NEWS: Vitorino HILTON has completed his move to FC Porto from Montpellier HSC for £8' date='169,000[/quote']A decent CB with an 88 rating but at 34, he hasn't got much life left in him so I decided to cash in with the £8m coming in handy for youth and deal sweeteners. The loan offer for Bengali-fodé KOITA of Montpellier HSC from Queen's Park has been accepted. The loan deal has been completed. RC Lens sent him back from loan so I have loan him straight back out to Queen's Park. A young 80 rated CF but he's unlikely to get much game time for us so better off playing for someone else. He got MOM on his debut there tonight so works both ways by the looks of it. Laurent PIONNIER has completed his move to Nimes Olympique from Montpellier HSC for £2,068,500 One of our three GK's. At 30 years old and just an 83 rating, he is never likely to rise enough to be in contention for a first team place so he's gone for cash. César ARZO has completed his move to Montpellier HSC from KAA Gent for £8,000,000 A direct replacement for Hilton. 26 years old and 86 rated. Clocked up 2500+ minutes for Gent last season so should be a safe 86. Unlikely to ever challenge for a starting XI spot but provides decent depth. Alan KARDEC has completed his move to Montpellier HSC from Benfica for £6,000,000 Another depth signing but Kardec comes with some potential to rise. A 23 year old 85 rated CF who spent last season on loan at Santos from Benfica. He scored 7 in 20 appearances so has goals in him. Karim ANSARIFARD has completed his move to Montpellier HSC from Persepolis for £590,000 A bit of a wildcard, this one. A 22 year old 76 rated Fwd from Iran who featured on FIFA's players to watch in 2012 list and has been linked with a move to Dortmund. Scored 21 in 31 games for Saipa last season. Could be a star, could be a flop. At £590k, it's a gamble worth taking. Fraser FYVIE has completed his move to Montpellier HSC from Aberdeen for £4,488,000 Another player for the future. A rare versatile Mid player, just 19 years old and rated 80. Has been a regular for Aberdeen for the past couple of seasons and featured for Scotland's U19's on a handful of occasions. I've had another couple of poor offers for Giroud and Belhanda which have been rejected. Both are transfer-listed but they're not going anywhere unless the deal is right. I'd need adequate replacements as part of the deal for either player if sold.
Mr - Hammer 2,123
Re: Gold Championship 174 Thread Newcastle's great start too the season had a bad turn last night too Manchester United, so my hard has been forced in too a deal for Cisse he is off too Spanish football with Gaspar (who will fit in real nice too the long term look of my squad) - Bruno (who is a nice 28 year old star at 90 ratting) and Marchena (who is a depth signing in the deal at 32 has not got long left in his old legs but fell a 88 CB/DM was too good too turn away) come my way. Cisse = Bruno + Marchena + Gaspar Real happy with the deal depth wise and ratting for my squad value ect.

Thack271 262
Re: Gold Championship 174 Thread MONTPELLIER HSC UPDATE Montpellier HSBC 1 - 0 AS Saint-Etienne Joris Marveaux (28) Another decent win for us on Saturday night. The stats were very evenly balanced so we can count ourselves lucky to come away with all three points from this one. Marveaux scored his first goal of the season from a strike that took a "wicked deflection" and picked up MOM in the process. The game didn't come without it's casualties though as we lose Bedimo, Yanga-Mbiwa and Giroud for tonight's French Shield game against Stade Lavallois and our mid-week league game against Bordeaux. Henri BEDIMO picked up a very minor injury during the recent match. Mapou YANGA-MBIWA picked up a very minor injury during the recent match. Olivier GIROUD picked up a very minor injury during the recent match. A couple of tough games against Bordeaux and PSG coming up who have both had strong starts. The reserves will get a run out tonight to make sure the regulars are fit for Wednesday but our 100% record is likely to come to an end this week. For now, the table looks like this: Pos Team P GD Pts1 MONTPELLIER HSC 3 4 9 2 Paris Saint-Germain 3 4 7 3 Marseille 3 2 7 4 Bordeaux 3 4 6 A bit of transfer news too: Jake GLEESON has completed his move to Montpellier HSC from Portland Timbers for £390' date='000.[/quote']This 22 year old 'keeper has had trials with Manchester United and Everton, has started playing for his native New Zealand and should be their #1 at the Olympics later this month. Only rated 75 at the minute but should be a riser in the long run. Jonathan TINHAN has completed his move to LB Chateauroux from Montpellier HSC for £811,200. Tinhan has been sold to Chateauroux. At 23 years old and only rated 78 with virtually no playing time last season, he doesn't appear to be a great prospect. Decided to cash in to boost the transfer kitty a little. Other than that, just the usual... What seems like hundreds of offers for Giroud have been rejected. I've taken him off the transfer list because people seem to think I will accept ageing 86/87 players and cash for a guy that has the potential to reach 91/92+ if he performs at Arsenal. Thack271 262
Re: Gold Championship 174 Thread KARDEC KEEPS THE MOMENTUM GOING French Shield Round 1 Stade Lavallois 0 - 2 Montpellier HSC Alan Kardec (6, 74) The reserve and fringe players got a chance to show me what they are all about on Monday night as they battled to a 2-0 win against unmanaged Stade Lavallois. The stats actually go in Lavallois' favour which isn't surprising given that Remy Cabella was sent off for us in the 37th minute and will now miss three games through suspension. Alan Kardec's finishing proved to be the difference though as the new £6m signing smashed home two goals on his debut and picked up the MOM award. We've been rewarded with a 2nd Round tie at home against Bordeaux who we faced in the league just a couple of days after this game... French Division 1 Bordeaux 3 - 3 Montpellier HSC Younes Belhanda (4) Cheick Diabate (23, 32, 40) John Utaka (38) Alan Kardec (49) Still without the injured Giroud, Yanga-Mbiwa and Bedimo, we had a mixture of first team players and reserves out for this game but we did well against a decent Bordeaux side. Based on the number of shots on goal, we should have been well beaten but we came from behind twice after taking an early lead to pick up a point to keep us top of the table. Kardec continued his fine start to his Montpellier career with a goal and an assist. The result could have been a lot worse if the Bordeaux manager hadn't decided to sub hat-trick hero Diabate at half-time! We lost Joris Marveaux to injury for three weeks which isn't ideal but we do have the injured trio back for tonight's clash at home to PSG. Pos Team P GD Pts1 MONTPELLIER HSC 4 4 10 2 Valenciennes 4 5 9 3 Marseille 4 2 8 4 Bordeaux 4 4 7 5 Paris Saint-Germain 4 3 7 No transfer news to update you on.
