Jupiler pro league (belgium)

Re: Jupiler pro league (belgium)

Lierse have a good season this year. There must be risers. BOURABIA' date=' Rachid[/b'] is 81 but should have +3. Tony Watt +2 is the killer this year with 9 goals on 18 games. WILS, Thomas +2 have also a good season. And than the best player of this season: SWINKELS, Arjan +2 is a must. and don't forget JAAGER, Enar +1. 1 player enchant me and that is EL MESSAOUDI, Ahmed +4/+5 is the minimum. And for the rest have Olivier it right.

Also Mbaye Diagne is a starplayer. Is from Juventus an is on a loan to Lierse.

Re: Jupiler pro league (belgium)

friends, Junior Kabananga (Cercle Brugge) got a +3 (77>80) two months ago, Alassane Diallo (KAS Eupen) got a +3 (73>76) a few days ago, Ilias Maatoug (Royal White Star Bruxelles) +4 (74>78) today, are they worth keeping or should I sell them now?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Jupiler pro league (belgium)

What do guys think of Bjorn Engels ? Is he talented ?

I'm a big fan of him. Maybe not the most thechnical defender' date=' but a very consistent defender, hardly makes a mistake, always chooses the best option.

And he is also very strong at corners, already made 5 goals this season as a defender

i would sell them all to be honest. Maatoug is maybe talented and is there are rumours he will be tranferred to first division, but it will take himtoo long until he can get a decent rating imo

How is it going on Olivier ? haven't heard from you for a while

yeah, i'm very busy with shool at the moment :(

Re: Jupiler pro league (belgium)

Hello guys,

Club Brugge is the team of the moment. Topmanager Michel Preud'homme finally achieved too build a strong formation. Maybe they don't have the best technical players in their team, but they win a lot of games because of their mentality. I really like the fact they play with a very young Belgian defence! (De Bock (21), Engels (19), Mechele (21), Meunier (22)) Engels and Meunier are the best players to be honest. Engels is still very young, but hardly makes a mistake. Sometimes I see a new Vermaelen in him. I also like Thomas Meunier, the chance he will join Belgium to Brazil is 50%/50%, Vandenborre of Anderlecht is the other candidate. He will probably leave Bruges at the end of the season, Wolfsburg would be interested. Mat Ryan is the best goalkeeper of the competition. He will also probably be Australias first goalkeeper in Brasil. I think he will make soon a transfer to the Premier League and he will be a topkeeper imo. Lestienne is not playing bad, but not that as important as last season.

Standard Liege are still leaders, but their performances are not that impressive anymore as in the begin of the season. Batshuayi and Mpoku have a little bit lost their good form, but they are still toptalents.

some interesting risers

Arne Naudts (Cercle) 76 --> 79

Stephen Buyl (Cercle) 75 --> 80

Alessio Staelens (Cercle) 76 --> 79

Engels (Club Brugge) 80 --> 85

Mechele (Club Brugge) 82 --> 85

Ryan (Club Brugge) 82 --> 86

Gavazaj (not in DB) and Locigno (Gent): made their debut not a long time ago, but they impressed me and I think they will get a lot of minutes soon. Gent is together with Club Brugge the best team and they can surprise in the play-offs

Vanaken (Lokeren) 82 --> 85

Gregory Mahau (Kortrijk) 75 --> 78

Sheldon Bateau (Mechelen) 80 --> 83

Mats Rits (Mechelen) 77 --> 80

Baptiste Schmisser (Oostende) 77 --> 80

Niels De Schutter (Oostende) 77 --> 80

Thomas Foket (Oostende) 77 --> 80

Jordan Lukaku (Oostende) 77 --> 80

Laurent Depoitre (Oostende) 79 --> 82

Ahmed El Messaoudi (Lierse) 74 --> 78

(look to Nick.Lieckenscomment for other lierse risers)

Noe Dusenne (Bergen) 75 --> 78

Chancel Mbemba (Anderlecht) 83 --> 86

Andy Najar (Anderlecht) 82 --> 85

Aleksandar Mitrovic (Anderlecht) 85 --> 86

Jessy Galvez Lopez (Charleroi) 75 --> 78

Julien De Sart (Standard) 80 --> 83

Paul-José Mpoku (Standard) 85 --> 86

Michy Batshuayi (Standard) 86 --> 87

Imoh Ezekiel (Standard) 85 --> 86

Frank Acheampong.

Got a good rise a few months ago (+5) but can anyone who knows the Jupiler Pro-league tell me if he is worth keeping or not please?

I understand he is not playing much for Anderlecht since his rise so not sure. My assistant manager says to keep him but I would sooner trust the judgement of you guys :D...

Thanks.

Re: Jupiler pro league (belgium)

Mbaye Diagne worth picking up? Added as an 80 currently on loan from Juve.

He looked very promising in his first games' date=' but stagnated a bit last games. He is already very high rated, so I wouldn't buy him

Is Stephen Buyl worth keeping after his +5 rise to 80 ???

nah, sell him, just average player, his peak will be 83-84

Re: Jupiler pro league (belgium)

Hi guys,

I was very busy lately, but now I got 2 weeks to spend more time at SM. Because I receive a lot of private messages about Belgian talents, I think it's better to post a general message, instead of replying all the messages.

I will post two lists, named:

"Best progression of the season": here will I make a top 10 of the players who improved most during the season.

"Potential breakthrough stars": I hope these players will be key players for their team and will often show their talent next season or already in the play-offs

Re: Jupiler pro league (belgium)

If people wonder why all those young players get minutes in Lierse lately, that's why:

I know everybody is interested in this kind of projects. So I would like to inform you they are doing something similar in Lierse SK. A lot of talents of the Jean Marc Guillou academy make the step to the A-team of Lierse. They are still very young, most of them are 18 year or younger. In 2002, approximately 20 very young, talentfull Ivorians from the same academy joined the financially poor SK Beveren. At first the players had difficulties to adapt, but when Herman Helleputte took over the management the Ivorians played well together. He was a father for them, in the friendly Belgium-Ivory Coast a few months ago they came all cuddle with him. Lovely to see after all those years. It's incredible if you see which word class players came out of this project: Eboué (Galatasaray, ex-Arsenal), Boka (Stuttgart), Romaric (ex-Sevilla), Gervinho (Lille, Arsenal, Roma) and the most famous one: Yaya Touré!

Although the situation is a little bit else. The players aren't anymore african players. Now it are belgians (most of them have african origin). There is a strong selection and the selected ones get six years long a special education. (the same as the Ivorians in the time) Lierse has signed a contract with the academy to let them taste the first division football. And guess who is the youth coordinator in Lierse: indeed Herman Helleputte. Last month you see more and more players getting their chance. Last game against Gent, there were 4 players of the academy in the starting 11: Ahmed El Messaoudi (played already some games), Faysel Kasmi, Ahmed Sayed and Anas Tahari. They are all 17 or 18 years old. I watched the game and you see they are technically better than most players in the jupiler pro league, but they miss experience. If Lierse can form a great mix of experienced players combined with the technical yonkies, I think this project could turn into something great.

To be fair I have more faith in this project, than in KAS Eupen, where they play with only very young players.

TOP 10 MOST IMPROVED PLAYERS

Good afternoon everybody,

Today I post the first part of the players that made the best progression this season. Some of them made their debut, other already tasted of the highest level in Belgium last season. Don't understand me wrong, it's not a list of the best players or the best talents (most of them are great talents) in the Jupiler Pro League, otherwise players as Lestienne, Odjidja, Mitrovic, Ezekiel, Vainqueur, Praet, Vossen, ... also deserved to be in this list. I found these players stagnated a bit this season, most of them are at their top in Belgium and need a transfer to a better team to play a level higher. Anyway here is the list. Enjoy!

Honourable to mention

Dino Arslanagic (83, 20): The young defender of Standard Liege started the season as 3rd choice for the center back position. But because of injuries and suspensions of Kanu, he got plenty of game time this season. Honestly I’m still not convinced of his qualities, but last 2 months he performs at an acceptable decent level and he keeps Kanu, who I find a great defender, out of the team.

Julien De Sart (82, 19): Another young talent of Standard Liege. It’s a bit the same story as Arslanagic: he is a starting player, although I find Buyens a better option at the midfield. Maybe it’s because his father is in the management of Standard Liege. I don’t say he can nothing, especially last games he is playing better! He is very fast, quite strong and has a good pass. But the problem he mostly fails against the topteams. I will watch him closely in the play-offs, maybe he can convince me here

Brandon Mechele (84, 21): Got his chance at the right-back in the play-offs last season. But that was a big disappointment, he is too slow. This season they played him out at the centre back position and that’s a success. Bjorn Engels and Brandon Mechele, both youth players, got a chance to show their potential. The two youngsters made a good impression but it was Bjorn Engels who made the most progress and is the better footballing defender.The captain Timmy Simons is a very good guide for the youngees, he plays sometimes between them. I think Mechele is a great defender for Club Brugge in the future, but I see his max rating at 87-88.

Anthony Vanden Borre (85, 26): The right-back of Anderlecht was in the past a massive talent, they predicted him a better carreer than Vincent Kompany. But he completely failed abroad and returned to Belgium. He had a good season at Genk but lost again his place because of his very lazy mentality. Anderlecht offered him a last chance. Finally he looks to live up his potential, he is quite strong defensively, but he can make great rushes and his an excellent long pass. He looks to win the fight right-back position for Belgium in Brasil, because the lack of gametime for Alderweireld in Atletico.

10. Thomas Meunier (86, 22)

Last season Garrido transformed Meunier into a right back due to a lack of quality at the back. Thomas Meunier first needed some time to adapt, also due to injuries, but after a while things worked out well and Club Brugge had found theirself a modern right back. His rushes and his action radius are his best qualities. But sometimes he is too enthusiastic and he forgets his defensive tasks. His new position also earned him a spot in the national squad of Belgium. Coach Marc Wilmots will have to make a choice between Thomas Meunier and Anthony Vanden Borre for the World Cup in Brazil. He was a long time in balance with Vanden Borre for a ticket on the plane for Brasil, but Anthony seems to win the battle. Although Meunier has a great future ahead of him, he will probably leave Club Brugge at the end of the season. Rumours say he is 2nd choice in the list (behind Jung) for the new RB of Wolfsburg next season.

RT8A50yXuC4

9. Paul-José Mpoku (86, 21)

Last season Mpoku started to shine again for Standard Liège. Certainly in the Play-Offs he was one of the brightest stars in the Jupiler Pro League. This season, things are going even better for the winger. He’s very explosive, has a magnificent shot and dribbles every defender crazy. He is also a free-kick specialist and he hardly missed a penalty. Guy Luzon gives him the confidence he need what’s very important for Mpoku. If this list would be the best players of the league, I would have put him higher, but it’s a list of the most improved players. Unfortunately I couldn’t find a nice compilation of this season, but I found one of last season.

8. Andy Najar (83, 21)

Anderlecht had high expectations of Najar when he joined Anderlecht last season. After spending a long time in the B-team, he got his chance at the right-back, because of injuries and suspensions. He didn’t play great, but you saw he got talent. His attacking pulses were great, but defensively he wasn’t convincing at all. So they tried him at the right wing and there arose a brilliant collaboration between Vanden Borre and Najar. He brought a new drive and played Massimo Bruno and Acheampong out of the team. In 2014 he is the performing player of his team. Analysts say he is, together with Tielemans, the discovery of Anderlecht this season. I’m curious if he can surprise with Honduras in Brasil.

7. Bjorn Engels (84, 19)

Another great debut this season came from Bjorn Engels of Club Brugge. After his unlucky debut under Georges Leekens against Bordeaux in the Europa League last season, Bjorn Engels got a new chance this season. At the begin he looked a bit nervous and unexperienced, but he kept his place and he came better every game. He is not very fast, but his positioning is brilliant. Engels is also very tall and strong in the air; he already scored 4 goals this season. Getting so many minutes at 19 years old, attracts of course interest from abroad. Some Italian teams are following him and for Genoa he is a toptarget. Bjorn Engels also convinced Belgian U21 coach Johan Walem after his great performances with Club Brugge.

6. Chancel Mbemba (85, 19)

Probably one of the biggest revelations of the Belgian Jupiler Pro League this season. After last season nobody expected that John van den Brom would change his central defending duo. Cheikhou Kouyaté and Bram Nuytinck who had a good season thanks to their consistency. Due to some poor results in the beginning of the season the Dutch coach of Anderlecht tried some new things and brought in Chancel Mbemba. The Congolese defender impressed with his flair, technique, pace and strength and moved from number three to number one in a couple of months. He is an amazing modern defender, who can surely sure make it to the top. Last months Mbemba got a dip in form, but it’s not a shame because the whole team performed substandard. Now Anderlecht won 2 times in a row and they are totally back in the title race.
