Re: Official Gold Championship 192 Thread

Juventus have agreed terms for Radamel Falcao. Vidal & Pogba head to Madrid followed by the cash transfer of Vuckinic. Might seem like a lot but I'm well covered in CM and Falcao is just a class act that will surely rise in rating in the next review. Also have Vital Dede arriving from Vasco de Gama having accepted a deal for Matri that includes him as P/E. He'll only be staying to sign the contract before heading back to Brazil on loan for the season. Still looking for a decent AM. If anyone wants to exchange for one of my players of another position please let me know.

Re: Official Gold Championship 192 Thread

Taken over Montpeiller.

Main aims are to qualify for Champions League and go far in this season's Europa League.

Pretty happy with the squad, but it'll need some strengthening to challenge with the big boys PSG, Lille, Marseille and Lyon.

Transfer News: Star midfielder Belhanda is for sale, and can leave in a part exchange

Have also picked up Senegal... very pleased with their forwards: Cisse, Ba, Niang and Sow

Re: Official Gold Championship 192 Thread

first dealings from Montpeiller coming through...

My backline is pretty solid in depth, so no changes need to be made..

In midfield, 87 rated CM/DM Kevin Anin is expected to move to Montpeiler

88 rated AM/CM Alex Meschini should also be arriving, and maybe be a starter

87 rated Luis Jiminez is also expected to complete his move shortly

In attack, 88 rated Cabanas has been signed, and will be the first choice CF, and he is joined by 87 rated Frau. It would've be ideal to have Oliver Giroud. but unfortunately he's at Arsenal

Sealed 23 year old 83 Jasmin Kurtic on loan from Palermo, and should provide valuable AM and CM cover.]

So far, most of these signings have been pretty astute, low price deals to shore up the midfield and forward depth so we can be competitive in all 4 competitions.

I am the Palermo manager...my aim this season is to get champions league football for next season by finishing top 4, and winning one of the cups...

In transfer news Munoz has been sold for Ambrosini and Bonera. They add depth and rating power to the squad. Bonera's def position will be a great asset. And Ambro is still playing well.

Also, Matias Silvestre has been swapped for Quagliarella, with Silvestre to be loaned back immediately.

Note: Abel Hernandez and Eros Pisano and Benussi are on the transfer list.

Getting bonera and ambrosini for Munoz is pretty good for your squad... Good luck in Serie A: Beating Inter, Roma, Milan, Juve will be tough

MONTPELLIER 1- 0 AJACCHIO: French Shield Round 1

My tenure as manager of Montpellier has got off to a good start with a hard fought 1-0 over div 1 side Ajacchio. Mostly the 2nd XI was sent out, and in the end, CB Hilton grabbed the winner, with my keeper Jourden being man of the match. Solid result, but there's a lot of improvement to be made.

Next up is top of the table PSG, and considering we are 18th, this will be a titanic challenge to come away with any points...

Transfer News:

I'm getting Kyle Naughton and Corchia on loan, which should be good back ups for my squad.

I've also sealed Roque Santa Cruz on loan from City, to add competition for the CF role

Re: Official Gold Championship 192 Thread

BIG TRANSFER NEWS: just sold my Captain Yangambiwa to Juventus. In exchange, Barzagli and 87 rated Padoin are making their way to France. Barzagli will directly replace Yanga as the Captain, and Padoin's amazing versatility (he's a MID) will make him a valuable asset to the bench.

In addition, youngster Deplagne will also be heading to Juventus for around 1.5M, which raises some desperately needed funds for Montpellier...

Although selling Yanga is tough, this deal really benefits my squad, so i'm pretty happy with it.

I was on the verge of selling him to Spurs, for Kaboul and Jenas, but the offer from Juve eclipsed it

Negotiations are continuing for Belhanda, but at this rate, he's staying at my club

and finally, DEMPSEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The star man has been claimed for Abel Hernandez and Zahavi, just weeks after moving to Spurs...realised how bad the club was thankfully...:P

Benussi will be sold for 5 mill which was part of the agreement for Dempsey...this will add some funds to the club

Silvestre completed his loan move as part of the deal for Quagliarella

A great start for new manager Sach The Gunner

Italian Shield Round 1:

Palermo 5 - Sorrento 1

Palermo gave Sorrento the figurative whip by unleashing the first xi, minus the incoming dempsey and silvestre, on their hapless lower tier opponents. A first half hat-trick from fabrizicio miccoli signalled the pending rout, with a second half quagliarella double sealing it. Amazingly, all of Miccoli's goals were from direct free-kicks, and it seems he will be palermo's free-kick maestro this season. Miccoli also teed up Quaglirella for his first of the night, which ilicic suppling the second goal assist. The only minor blip was the concession was a single goal, but the defense needs more time to gel, and this will come.

Next up, Catania in Round 2

Montpellier has now completed several more transfer Deals

Biggest coup of the day has seen Phillippe Mexes arrive at the club in exchange for Congre and Benji Stambouli. Mexes will now form a rock solid partnership with club captain Barzagli, and hopefully this CB pairing is good enough for our Europa league challenge!

Arevalo Rios, 88 rated DM/CM, has been signed from Palermo, in exchange for Saihi and youngster Deplaigne. Arevalo is also likely to be a starter, so it's a good deal for us

I'm also swapping Utaka for 87 rated CB Von Berger, who'll mainly be a back up CB for the club. However, the deal will also see 85 rated AM/Wing Brienza come to our club on Loan

Re: Official Gold Championship 192 Thread

As described above by shanemendo, arevalo has moved to montpeiller for saihi and delpagne...arevalo was not content with his spot on the bench and so was drafted out for the 5 years younger saihi, who plays dm. delpagne joins the youth academy, which has lost paulo dybala. A bright prospect, who has been sacrificed for Hoarau(89 CF) and Rodriguez(88 CB) on loan, to strengthen the first team depth.

Benussi has been sold to spurs for 3.8 mill and tomorrow von bergen will make way for utaka. utaka will strengthen our wing department with von bergen seen as excess to the requirements in the centre-back position.

Re: Official Gold Championship 192 Thread

Another important Signing: Zaragoza's Helder Postiga is coming to Montepellier for Ait-Fana and youngster Coulomb.

Although losing the 23 year old Ait Fana isn't too ideal, Postiga is a much more important player for the squad, and it's highly likely he'll be our first choice CF, with competition from Santa Cruz and Cabanas.

latest fixture news for Montpellier

Ligue 1: Round 4

MONTPELLIER 2-4 PSG

Up against top of the table PSG with a squad weakened by match fitness and injuries, this was always going to be a tough match, and PSG ran our defence ragged. New signings Cabanas and Anin got on the score sheet to draw a few positives out of the match, but in the end, the gulf in class was clear, and it leaves us 19th, a nightmare start for our top 4 aspirations

Europa League Group stage Round 2

MONTPELLIER 3-1 WROCLAW

A must match for us if we are going to qualify for the knockouts, and luckily, the team produced their best outing of the season thus far, with a comfortable 3-1 victory over the Polish club. New signing Postiga got on the scoresheet in his first start for the club, and Mournier scored in a MOTM performance, and star midfielder Belhanda also grabbed a goal. Disappointed to concede a goal, but overall, a great performance, with still not the first choice XI, such as our captain Barzagli still injured. The win moves us to 2nd in the table on 3 points, behind Schalke on 6

MONTPELLIER START OF SEASON TRANSFER ROUNDUP

Montpellier manager Shavil Mendis today declared that the club had finished all of its start of season transfers. The big news is that Belhanda, after previously being on the verge of a move to Spurs, will be staying at the club.

Star Man staying: Younes Belhanda commits future to the club

In defence, both of the original first choice CBs YangaMbiwa (the captain) and Congre left, with Mendis deciding upon a new, more experienced CB pairing of Mexes and Barzagli (the new captain). Both the first choice fullbacks, Bedimo and Bocaly, stayed at the club, while former Palermo CB Von Berger(87) was brought in for back up. Fullback Kyle Naughton was signed on loan from Spurs

In midfield, the major signing was French star AM/CM Marvin Martin, who will complete his move to Montpellier this week, and will be the main playmaker. Palermo defensive mid Arevalo(88) was also brought in, and will likely complete with Estrada for a place in the starting XI. As part of the YangaMbiwa deal, versatile midfielder Padoin(87) from Juve signed for the club, and will be a valuable asset for the bench. Center mid Kevin Anin (87) was bought from Nice, 88 rated Alex from Al Gharafa, and 87 rated Jiminez from Dubai was also brought in, as the whole midfield underwent a massive reshuffle, but now has the star power (Belhanda, Mournier, Martin) and the depth to be a success.

In the striking department, there were also several key changes made. The pick of the arrivals is easily former Chelsea star Kalou, as well as Portugal international Postiga, who will be first choice CF. Also arriving at the club were Cabanas (88), Frau (87), and De Melo (87), who will mainly be subs and reserve players.

Serie A Round 5

Palermo 2 - Napoli 1

Palermo continued to grow under new manager Sach The Gunner with a solid win over high flyers Napoli. The win puts Palermo in 5th place, just one point outside the champions league places. The match saw debuts for new arrivals Dempsey, Hoarau and Rodriguez. Miccoli fired in the opener from another dead ball situation-undoubtly the free-kick maestro of the league- and captain Ambrosini added another 3 minutes later after an incisive through ball from star man Miccoli. Unfortunately, Napoli pegged one back, however the result never looked in danger. Next up is Parma, as we look to march on.

Also, it must be noted that we beat arch rivals Montpellier in a friendly, in a 2-1 triumph. Once again Miccoli and Ambrosini scored, but amazingly, Miccoli scored from open play. Sach The Gunner was dissapointed with Miccoli's performance after the match: "It's upsetting that he missed a free-kick that he usually buries, but the worst part was that he scored from open play. I'll have to have a stern word with him later."

US Palermo Squad

A busy transfer window has strengthen Palermo's squad under new manager Sach the Gunner, with more signing yet to come.

Dick-Advocaat-has-total-control-over-the-team,-says-Malafeev-163279.jpg

Malafeev is the man between the sticks, ably backed-up by Ujkani.

Bonera.jpg

Former Milan man Bonera is Mr Versatile in Palermo's back-line, with Silvestre, Rodriguez and Insua the other preferred starters. Mauro Cetto, Eros Pisano and Santi Garcia are the deputy defenders. It seems Sach The Gunner wants to bring in another star defender to strengthen his starting XI. Only time will tell who this man is.

Clint-Dempsey-008.jpg

Club record-signing Clint Dempsey adds firepower to the engine room. Captain Massimo Ambrosini, Josep Ilicic and latest signing, playmaker Dmitri Payet, combine to make a well oiled machine. Bertolo and Saihi are squad players. It is rumoured that Rio Mavuba is on his way to Palermo, citing the club's ambition as his reason. He will provide balance to the midfield, and team up with "Ambro" in the heart of midfield.

fabrizio-miccoli.jpg

Dead-ball specialist Fabrizio Miccoli is Palermo's star man. A fan's favourite, due to his history at the club, and the club's leading goal-scorer this season will look to spark Palermo's season. He is supported by Fabio Quagliarella and loanee Hoarau in what is a strong front-line. Budan and Utaka will be utilised in cup match's to provide these guys with a break to keep them in peak condition.

Also, youngsters Ibai Gomez and Alex Ring have been added to the club's youth academy. The squad has been overhauled completely over the past week to suit Sach The Gunner's style of play. Early signs suggest that this is just the beginning of a successful campaign, with some silverware and a spot in next season's Champions League the expectation within the club. The Rosanero is rising!

MONTPELLIER PART WAYS WITH JEUNECHAMP

Montpellier today confirmed that veteran fullback Cyril Jeunechamp(87) would be leaving the club within the week.

JEUNECHAMP_CYRIL.jpg

Veteran defender Jeunechamp has parted ways with the club

The 36 year old was expected to be a key squad player, given that he was first choice back up for RB and LB. However, the signing of Kyle Naughton on loan started the speculation about Jeunechamp's future. Although he was expected to sign a 2 year deal this week, Montpellier discussed his future and confirmed he was not part of their plans for this season.

Manager Shavil Mendis said

Cyril is still a quality player, but given he's approaching 37 and the need to groom younger players for the future, both the player and the club have come to the decision to part ways. Cyril will not be featuring much in our plans this season, and I'm sure he can wrap up his career at another club where he can still be a key player. We wish success at his new club, wherever that may be.

Despite Montpellier declaring they had finished their transfer dealings for the start of season, it's now expected they will wrap up a deal shortly for a fullback of some sort to replace Jeunechamp. Reports circulating in France have suggested that Lille's Franck Beria is the main target, but Montpellier are yet to announce any decision. More to follow...

Re: Official Gold Championship 192 Thread

Ligue 1: Round 5

MONTPELLIER 3-1 LILLE

In 19th Position, and with 7 changes to the starting XI due to injuries and fitness issues, this away trip to Lille was going to be a tough one. In defence, Jeunechamp was given a start in his final league appearance, and star players like Belhanda, Postiga and Kalou were left on the bench.

However, Montpellier got of to a great start with loan signing striker Del Melo scoring on debut in the 26 minute, assisted by Frau. For the next half hour, both sides had chances, but good defending meant no change to the score line.

At the hour mark, stand in skipper Mexes was substituted after having a superb game, but his withdrawal proved costly as just 8 minutes later, Lille had equalized. However, Montpellier responded minutes later, with Frau again assisting Del Melo’s 2nd of the match. And 2 minutes later, the game was put to bed with a 3rd goal: yet another Del Melo goal assisted by Frau. The match ended 3-1, and Montpellier had their first win in the league.

The result moves us up to 15th on the ladder, with 5 points. Man of the Match was clearly Del Melo with a hattrick on debut, and amazingly, both he and Frau (who finished with all 3 assists) are meant to be no more than squad players. No doubt they have made their claim for a place in the starting XI, and they’ll be hard to drop for next game after such a performance.

Our next league match is against 5th side Toulouse, who are only 4 points ahead, despite being 10 places higher. A great chance to jump up the ladder if we can win.
