Re: Gold Championship 202 Thread

Things going slowly at Barcelona, had a few offers but all have fallen short of what I'd like.

Not complaining though as I'm more than happy to start the season with no changes made. Just missing an 87/88 rated Winger, and Forward for the 2nd string.

Hull has had a productive preseason with 26 players coming to KC Stadium. Although a good majority of these signings could be seen as inconsequential Hull did manage to bring in MLS stars Tim Cahill (88), Brek Shea (85), Fredy Montero (86) and Osvaldo Alonso (84) as well as free agent Craig Gordon (88).

Hull's activity in the transfer market paid immediate dividends with winger Brek Shea putting in a man of the match performance and star midfielder Tim Cahill scoring the only two goals in the season opener away at Burnley. The season looks bright for the Tigers as they look to build on their success as they entertain Hyde in the first round of the English Shield Monday.

SWANSEA CITY

TOTTENHAM 0 - 1 SWANSEA

Swansea started the new season off away to highly rated Tottenham Hotspur. Two new faces started for the swans, new defensive midfeilder Fernández Gabi and loan signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. With the game being quite even through out the new Spurs manager will feel hard done by, espically seeing as they were the home side, but Oxlade-Chamberlain on his debut stole it at the death putting a low shot underneath Hugo Lloris.

Swansea manager said he was delighted with the result and praised the whole team on the way they went to White Hart Lane and got the job done in good fashion.

MAN OF THE MATCH: Angel Rangel

Swansea have a away tie to Gateshead then followed by another tough game against Chelsea.

SWANSEA CITY

GATESHEAD 0 - 2 SWANSEA

Swansea got there cup run away to confrence side Gateshead. Swansea manager Michael Bowes put out a mix side of youth and fringe players to get some early minutes in the season. With half-time approaching it looked like the underdogs could go in with it still staying stale mate, Kemy Agustien silenced the home crowd with a looping header. Mr Bowes wouldn't had needed to say much in the half-time team talk with his side controlling the first half. New young midfeilder, Felix Klaus who was signed from Greuther Fürth for a fee of £1m also getting on the score sheet in the second half, capping off a excellent debut.

Michael Bowes said after the match he hopes for a nice cup run, but will see what the future holds

MAN OF THE MATCH: Kemy Agustien

A very tricky away tie awaits them in the second round, with Arsenal being the competitors

Hull City 4 - 0 Hyde

Man Of The Match

Nick Proschwitz

Goals

N. Proschwitz (43, 62, 74)

C. Stewart (69)

Hyde looked impressive against a Hull that featured only 1 player from their starting 11, managing two shots on target and keeping out the feeble Hull attack until a Nick Proschwitz header gave Hull a one goal lead going into the half. Ultimately that goal would prove to be all the motivation Nick Proschwitz needed, the final 45 minutes of the game would see him add two to tally completing his first hat trick as a Tiger. Young winger Cameron Stewart would net his first goal of the season helping Hull City to convert 4 of their 20 shots on target. As impressive as today's victory may be The Tigers will find themselves true underdogs Monday when they face Newcastle away in the second round of the English Shield.

Shortly after the match Hull received, and accepted a record breaking £4.7m bid for Nick Proschwitz from German side Dusseldorf. Proschwitz had previously made clear his desire to leave England and return home, sensing possible moral issues and a fair transfer fee the Hull manger quickly accepted.

Re: Gold Championship 202 Thread

Dani SCHAHIN has completed his move to Swansea City from Fortuna Düsseldorf for £990,000

If things keep going the way they are he should get a rise to atleast +4 to 83 so will be a handy back up

Tom DE SUTTER has completed his move to Swansea City from RSC Anderlecht for £3,400,000

Getting game time at Anderlecht so if worst come to the worst he will atleast keep his 85 and possibly get a rise.. will still be a decent back up to Danny Graham for now

Sousa RITHELY has completed his move to Swansea City from Sport Recife for £1,020,000

Racked up alot of minutes in Brazil this season, sadly for a team down near the bottom but should still get atleast a +2 to 80

Still got a bit of cash left and also still need to sell 90 rated Pablo Hernandez :)

SWANSEA CITY

SWANSEA 3 - 1 CHELSEA

Swansea entertained one of the top boys at the Liberty Stadium for the second Premier League game of the season. After coming off a away win against Tottenham, Swansea would be hoping for the same sort of result against Chelsea who had came of a 5-0 smashing against Stoke. Spainish striker Fernando Torres would be the dangerman, after bagging 4 of the 5 goals.

Swansea started the game off in excellent fashion, left back Neil Taylor bagging the first goal of the game with a header in the 19th minute. It stayed that way for the rest of the half with alot of praise going to the home keeper Michel Vorm for keeping them in it. Chelsea came out in the second half the way they ended the first, Diego Milito got The Blues back into it 12 minutes into the second half with a shot Michel Vorm had no chance with. It took only 2 minutes for The Swans to go back in the lead, Danny Graham working well down the wing to swing a ball into new boy Fernandez Gabi who scored his first goal for the club with a well placed header. David Luiz was at fault for the 4 and final goal of the game, he fouled Graham which lead to Pablo Hernandez striking the ball underneath the wall and in of the inside off the post from a free kick. Swansea managed to hold on to record a amazing result.

Swansea manager Michael Bowes was quoted by saying he was delighted how his lads grinded out the result with a supurb performance against a very good side.

MAN OF THE MATCH: Pablo Hernandez

Next up is another home game against Aston Villa before an away trip in the second round of the sheild against Arsenal

Aston Villa were the vistors to Wales to face a in form Swansea who have started the season on fire. It was a fiery encounter which saw 2 red cards in the game. The first half was rather tight, with Villa getting most of the chances facing a in form Michel Vorm. Swansea came out from the break all guns firing, on loan Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain striking the ball to the near post to beat Shay Given. Then came the turning point of the game, Charles N'Zogbia putting in a nasty challenge on Fernandez Gabi and being given a straight red card, the resulting free kick was swung in high from Oxlade-Chamberlain to Jonathan De Guzman who heads in to give the home side a 2-0 lead. Swansea was then brought down to ten men in the last 3 minutes, Neil Taylor fouling Darren Bent for the second time in the match to be show a second yellow. 2 minutes later and into the final minute of the game Aston Villa won a free kick, Darren Bent struck it and curls it straight into the top corner.
