Bohemians update

League

Bohemaians fall to their first defeat of the league campaign, and in fact their first in 19 games. we lost 1-0 to rivals shelbourne. It was a disastrous game, with them breaking the deadlock in the 29th minute through centre forward, Aloys Nong. Bohemians d=then didn't do themselves any favours, with Left midfielder Andre Gignac getting himself sent off 4 minutes later.

despite us having twice as many shots as the visitors, we failed to equalise, and the defeat means shelbourne overtake us in the league, moving to first ahead of us on goals difference.

A disappointing defeat, but even Bohemians can't win every game...

transfers

Some good news to surely lighten up the mood in the Bohemians camp, with yet another couple of young prospects joining. Kevin Volland will soon be arriving for a fee of around 11 million, and French teenager, Nabil Bentaleb joins for around 300k.. Unfortunately, 22 year old defender Aissi Mandi had to depart as more money was needed to fund the transfer.

Our next game is away to Sligo Rovers, who currently sit 6th in the league, definitely a game we need to bring back the 3 points in.

bohemians update

Its been a while since my last update, and 3 games have passed since.

league

It has been a very successful week for Bohemians as we have picked up the maximum 6 points from our last two games, with 2 away victories, over Sligo rovers, and Drogheda United.

Sligo 0-3 Bohemians

Despite the considerable score line, it doesn't tell the whole story. The teams went in 0-0 at half time, There certainly wasn't anything to cheer about, as Bohemians had only managed 2 shots, and Sligo with only the 1.

However, as soon as the whistle signalling the restart went, Bohemians went on the attack. central striker, Max Kruse played a dazzling through ball to Dirk Kuyt, who calmly finished and made it 1-0 on 46 minutes. Bohemians continued to press with no luck. In the 69th minute, Sligo made a counter attack, which ended in striker, Danny North scoring a well worked goal, but it was given offside by the Ref. This seemed to act as a wake up call to the champions, who seem to be far from their best, but they scored just 1 minute later, with Matthias Ginter smashing one in from range. Bohemians then seemed to grasp control of their game, and the free flowing football started to show, with us creating chance after chance. Then in the 83rd minute, in form forward max Kruse volleyed one in from the edge of the box to seal the victory for Bohemians.

Drogheda United 1-4 Bohemians

This was set out to be a very interesting fixture, as Drogheda was Horns previous club.

The game got off to a flyer, as Drogheda seemingly took the lead through defender, Hicham Khaoula, however yet again the linesman ruled it offside! Then in the 7th minute, midfielder Sebastian rode scored with a well hit free kick just outside the area. Drogheda were in disbelief at this, after having a goal ruled out, they promptly went in search of another, and they found the net when Osmar Willian scoring, again with a free kick in the 10th minute. It was game on, and real end to end stuff, with both teams missing chances. However, Bohemians were to strike the next blow, with valbuena scoring a tap in from 4 yards out. Bohemians continued to press without a goal until half time. Bohemians continued from where they left off, and soon found the net again through who else but Max Kruse with a close range effort successfully beating the keeper. Bohemians continued to press Drogheda, keeping them in their own half for the rest of the game. Then, Seb Rode put an end to a great night for Bohemians supporters with another well hit free kick in the 88th minute.

Bohemians -1 Omiya Ardija

This would be the third game in Bohemians' champions league adventure, against the weakest side in the group. Bohemians started well, with Ginter heading in the first through a delicate cross by valbuena. However, the opposition were not giving up as the equalised through Hayoto hashimoto in the 18th minute through a well placed finish .Gignac put Bohemians in front again in the 39th minute after some relentless attacking from the home side, and Max kruse added one in the61st minute, putting the game to bed.Bohemians currently sit 2nd in the group, on 6 points, behind leaders Juve on a maximum of 9 points, and 3 points in front of 3rd placed Omiya, and Ajax are bringing up the rear in 4th, with 0 points.

Re: Gold Championship 205 Thread

I hammered UCD 6-1 and put one past Shelbourne to get all three points against second placed Shelbourne. We are now level on points with Shelbourne and one of four teams in joint second place. League champions Bohemians (as expected) :P way out in front.
