Re: The Random Thread

I wonder if a bimbo' date=' who clicked on that link, could get even dumber.

Let's face it, there are people, who just have sand in their brains. :o[/quote']

You mean Americans?

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/lifestyle/general_lifestyle/july_2014/have_we_got_a_conspiracy_for_you_9_11_jfk_obama_s_citizenship

Twenty percent (20%) of Americans believe in the theory that a UFO carrying space aliens on board crashed near Roswell, New Mexico in 1947, and a sizable 33% more are not sure. Fewer than half (47%) reject that theory.
Only three percent (3%) think McCartney was killed and replaced by an equally talented imposter. Fifteen percent (15%) are undecided.

In general, men are more likely than women to believe most of the conspiracy theories.

Re: The Random Thread

Lesson to the kids - don't be like others, be different. Or you won't become like Warren Buffett

Neuroeconomists confirm Warren Buffett's wisdom: Brain research suggests an early warning signal tips off smart traders
Investment magnate Warren Buffett has famously suggested that investors should try to 'be fearful when others are greedy and be greedy only when others are fearful.' That turns out to be excellent advice, according to the results of a new study that looked at the brain activity and behavior of people trading in experimental markets where price bubbles formed.

Re: The Random Thread

Well mate, I don't like to generalise, but many Americans (especially in the Southern states) are very dumb.

We also have lots of morons here in Portugal. Our governments spent the EU funds on highways, instead of using it for scientific and educational development. Add to that 48 years of dictatorship, that sponsored people's ignorance and we now have a country with a large number of ignorant and moronic people. :(

Re: The Random Thread

It's not stupidity' date=' but ignorance. There's a difference between not understanding something and not willing to understand something.

From personal experience, Americans are the smartest human beings [b']in their field of specialisation[/b]. Problem is, most of them don't give a monkey's about anything else besides what they need to earn a living, which is not stupidity but just sheer ignorance.

There's also a culture here that directs people towards disinterest in anything outside of their immediate personal concerns. We also have a general excess of meaningless drivel.

Braga is actually one of the best Portuguese cities to live in. :)

But Canada is a very civilised country and, unfortunately, the same can't be said for Portugal. :o

Re: The Random Thread

You're not the only ones. :o

...........

Anyone here remember Miss California Carrie Prejean?

When asked why Americans are geographically illiterate' date=' she replied: “People out there in our nation don’t have maps. . . . Our education like such as South Africa and, uh, the Iraq everywhere like, such as and, I believe that they should, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries.”[/quote']

Brain hemorrhage? I know clinically retarded people who can give a better answer.

Lisbon is a beautiful city, Porto mainly at night.

But I wouldn't like to live there, coz the traffic is chaotic.

Braga has pretty much everything, but we have considerably less trafic than Lisbon and Porto.

However, our previous mayor had a very long love affair with cement - he filled our city with it. :(

She has a good point though' date=' some people don't have maps :P[/quote']

I may have a map or a globe at home, idk. :P
