Aston Villa Hire Justice After Lambert Decides to Leave

Basically, I have a number of sides that are all in GC and basically I want to put a thread together for my new Aston Villa, your probably thinking oh my god why the fudgesicals would someone give up 500 coins for Aston Villa a team whom have recently dropped down the league in the Premier League, however I really for some reason had the urge to get them and I really wanted a Villa side as part of my list of teams. So basically thats my reasoning most people want Real Madrid etc...my ambitions are Villa and Dortmund and I have now recently got both having reserved my first team in Dortmund, and so this thread will belong to me posting about Villa and hopefully I'd like to keep it as mine only and make a number of posts about my Aston Villa and just in depth posts about everything that goes on at the club, and make sure I keep this thread as up to date with transfers, results, etc although I dont really for once want to make a mass amount of transfers with this side. Maybe 4 or 5 maybe 6 transfers max, well we will see.

Benteke, " I look forward to working under new manager Nick Justice!"

Justice was appointed this evening at Premier League Side Aston Villa, and he had this to say, " Villa have a great history and I'd really like to work on what they have and try my best to get them back to glory days and hopefully eventually possibly win the league and more within the not so distant future. That is my overall ambition with this club in the long run, we have a lot to work on, I have been speaking with my players and a few have expressed their intrest in parting ways with the club and I respect those players decisions and Will allow them to do as they wish and there are also many who have expressed there desire to help push this club forward, I shall also be giving every player their chance, if they impress in training they will be given the opurtunity they deserve. I hope to keep the philosophy brought to this club by Labert and may look to the lower leagues to help improve my squad aswell as abroad. I am very eager to try out a few things in our up coming friendly tournement ahead of our Premier League Season!"

Goalkeeper Situation! Given or Guzan?

When Aston Villa kick off their Premier League campaign against Newcastle, the former club of Given on September 22nd, the identity of their first choice goalkeeper is by no means a given. That’s not to say it won’t be Shay Given, the experienced stopper who was well and truly No.1 under the previous regime.

However, Brad Guzan has emerged as a strong challenger to Given this season having committed himself to Villa for a further three years. Indeed, a deciding factor in the American re-signing having initially left the club this summer was the promise of more first team opportunities.

“Shay sets the bar high,” said Guzan. “Of course he does. He’s a terrific goalkeeper.

“Working with him all last year, we were able to get the best out of one another and really push one another. That’s what makes our goalkeeping group so special.

“We’re able to push each other in training and on game day we’re ready to go. When I stepped in for that run of games during the winter when Shay had his injury and I was able to do well, I think that’s testament to my training habits here at the club.”

It was that impressive run of games midway through last season which seemed to do Guzan’s claret and blue career more harm than good. The USA international impressed during his longest sequence of starts for Villa, but lost his place the moment Given was fit again.

Justice has promised there will not be a repeat of that scenario during the coming campaign with the player in possession keeping the jersey as long as he maintains top form. However, those interpreting it as the end for Given following his below-par performances for the Republic of Ireland at Euro 2012 should not be too hasty in writing off the 36-year-old.

“He gives everything to his training and his games, even at the age of 36"

“You wouldn’t believe the degree he goes to in everything — nutrition, the way he lives, the kind of training. He takes every route necessary to make sure he’s as good as possible.”

Justice said, "It will be tough to decide who will be No.1 here at Villa but they will both be given a fair chance during pre-season as well as the earlier games of the season to see how they perform!"

The gloves are on – let the goalkeeping battle commence

Anders-Lindegaard-looked--008.jpg

In a Bizzare turn Of Events, After the a debate last night whether Given or Guzan would be number 1, Anders Lindegaard has arrived on-loan

Last Night there was a rathe big question proposed to new Aston Villa boss Nick Justice about who would become first choice at Villa Park between Shay Given and Brad Guzen...and now to shake it all up, controversially Justice has brought in Danish International Goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard on a season long loan deal from Manchester United the 27 year old shot stopper is a highly regarded Goalie and now raises even more question as for who will be the number one at Villa Park. When we spoke to Aston Villa boss Nick Justice had to say to AVtv, " I'm very pleased that I am able to bring Anders to the club as I feel we need to have as much possible cover for each position, thats not to say Anders, Shay and Brad will not be given their chances to play for us we just need to have options when it comes to each position and its healthy to have competition, I feel it brings the best of players, if they know they may not be first choice in any position."

Former Brummie Loanee Is set for Villa Deal, as Guzan Departs on-loan and Dunne is on way out

Young English talent Andros Townsend will be heading to Aston Villa in a deal worth £4.5Million, the former Birmingham City loanee winger will be wearing the Claret and blue of the midlands rather than the blue, where as its been reported that Richard Dunne is set for a controversal switch to Wolverhampton Wanderers the International Irish Center back has agreed a deal with the championship side with the deal thought to be in the region os £7million for the Centre back. Also after much speculation about the Goalkeeping situation, Brad Guzan has headed to the seaside and completed a loan switch to Championship side Blackpool in order to gain first team football as well as experience, and may return to compete with Anders Lindegaard and Shay Given for the No.1 spot at Aston Villa.
