Re: 87+

KJ KJ has become the new FC Nordsjaelland manager.

Hi Guys!! Just appointed as Manager of FC Nordsjaelland. We have set a target of finishing top 3. All the best to me :D:D B)

Welcome mate to the GW and good luck with your new club :)

With this appointment comes the loss of their previous manager David Garvock who did an excellent job with FC Nordsjaelland and ultimately with the strength of team he had at his disposal arguably over achieved challenging for the title the last two seasons. Unfortunately due to time constraints David was unable to post more on the forum to contribute to this side of the GW and as it is a forum GW which needs people to be posting for the long term health of the GW he kindly stepped aside so that someone else could take part. I thank David for his time in the GW and would happily welcome him back should his situation change and he have more time to get involved, so maybe we will see him again one day in the future :)

A tough club to take over for KJKJ as they have already been over achieving so it will be hard to look good straight away. Can KJKJ take them a step further and land the title?

Right I have gone through updating stuff on the opening page of the thread over the last few days and all is up to date now especially the 'currant division composition' which I had forgot about for a while :o

The red text at the top is now written in as part of the GW rules. As far as I am concerned it has always been a kind of unwritten rule but feel it needs to be actually written there as a reminder to everyone and any new comers wanting to join. Any GW is only as strong as its community and the effort they are willing to put in regardless of how good a GW idea there might be. SM is littered with failed GW's (partly SM's fault) and custom game's on the forum unfortunately are no exception to this. A quick glance through the custom GW's will show it's a graveyard for exited optimism, laid waste by member apathy.

For me this GW has been a great GW to be involved in from the start and continues to be due to the support of its members both in game and on the forum. I'm committed to trying to make this as fun and long lasting GW as I can and with your continued help we can make this one of the best GW's on SM to be a part of. Thanks ;)

I agree, will soon have been in the GW 2 years, it's what keeps me going on SM.

The Guaratingueta squad are really looking forward to this season, we are looking to match FC Lugano's record of 3 Division 1 titles (and stop Rayo Vallecano getting the hat trick ;)). The chairman doesn't seem to have much faith though as the club announced "This season your Chairman expects you to qualify for a SMFA competition".

We have virtually the same first team that won Division 1 twice, we lost CB Oliviera to Sporting but Rolan (GW's record goal scorer) and Sakho rose to 86.

We feel we are a bit short of defensive cover but if we can stay away from injuries, I expect us to challenge for the title. We have a lot of attacking talent at our disposal, so this season we will play a more attacking game.

Good luck to all.

Yeah if it wasn't for this GW I would have gone long ago. SM the game is a good idea run badly. I love the competativeness of this GW and the fact that things can change quickly in it.

Diego Rolan is a beast. The amount of goals he has amassed no one else is close to him. About time he jogs on I say :P

"This season your Chairman expects you to mount a serious title challenge."

What is my chairman trying to imply? That I didn't make a serious title challenge last season

I too want to put a stop to Rayo's dominance and stop them becoming the first team to get 3 div 1 titles in a row, I would also like to stop Gauaratingueta too and Wrexham as they have had to much success already also :P Its about time my team showed why they cost me a fortune each season to run. I'm losing about 40m a season and only have the odd cup win to show for it though I think I'm the club who now has the most 87+ Cup trophys (3) Yay I'm a cup team :(

They don't care as its the same few who call them out on it. I feel like its been a 3 year battle to try and get them to do more but have distanced myself from it in recent times as they have done so little and even admit to it. Ive been playing Trophy Manager for about 2 years now and although it isn't real players it is a better game in my opinion. 87+ is the only GW I have played on SM that has been fun from the start and continues to be. To achieve that the game has to be played in a way it is not meant to be. When played as intended SM can't sustain longevity well and certainly can't offer a dynamic GW. If anyone is also on TM let me know and I will friend you on there :)

Is my chairman crazy??

Lol you will have done exceptionally well if you don't get relegated this season :P

This season your Chairman expects you to avoid relegation.

Am i suppose to be happy with this new?:confused:

That's what I mean by them over achieving in the past. The fact they competed for the title until the last game of the season for the last two seasons was incredible  You have got big shoes to fill ;)

Well after losing out on promotion playoff last season my chairman now wants me to avoid finishing bottom......good to see he has faith in me :P

He might as well have said just try your best :P

Tranmere is busy with exams and stuff (I know I know his prioritys are not in order:p) so I have started to write up this seasons preview and will post it up when done :) basically it will say your all c rap and I will win but with more words :D
