Shaw was a brilliant signing. Blind was a brilliant signing. Schneiderlin was a brilliant signing. Only because LvG didn't use them properly doesn't mean the signings weren't good. Stop pissing in your pants mate.I am so looking forward to this season. Ah the bitter comments. I've missed them so bad.

Yup they were all BRILLIANT signings, especially Blind and Rojo. If i recall correctly, you were looking forward for the past season too. Well, i guess you like to watch Europa League and disappointing Premiere League matches. Don't have the habit of pissing my pants, but i guess that's common amongst United fans these days.

How less did you want to pay for Shaw and Schneiderlin. They were fair deals. Martial looked like overpriced but he has been worth every penny. Take the 60m right now Monaco.

Yup, Martial was overpriced, there is no other way to look at it. May be worth in the future, but he hasn't justify he's price tag, neither did Depay bth.

Rasford-Embolo-Martial as front 3 is still inexperienced

Rumours about Nani(no way) and Pogba/Darmain + money swap - Only way United can get Pogba is attracting his agent who is same agent as Ibra.

I happy about all signing except Rojo and Fellaini

Shaw - great buy but injury has stopped his progress atm, Moyes fault over Evra, Rio and Vidic

Martial - Idk why people class his signing as £60mil as £28mil is add ons which he might/might not get

Di Maria - He was great until LVG kept moving him around which is what has happened to Depay, even know Depay does need Fergie hairdryer treatment

According to Wikipedia the initial fee more Martial was £36m with bonus clauses over the next 4 years worth 7.2m each. One being score 25 goals which he will definitely do, 25 caps for France which is very possible and the Ballon D'or which i doubt very highly will happen. So it's looking around 50m in total.

It's quite an interesting one as people are going to defend their club, and people will try rip them apart who don't support them (normally me), but I am really going to try and be impartial here.

Being totally genuine here I believe Utd have made 4 'good' signings in recent years (don't want to go too far back or I will rip it out of you, Ashley Young, Phil Jones etc, so 12/13).

Robin Van Persie

Juan Mata

Angel Di Maria

Bastian Schweinsteiger

Now bear with me here.

Robin Van Persie was one of the most lethal strikers in the league at the time, plus buying him (for what I consider a very fair price) from a direct title rival was very good business, and Ferguson got what he wanted as he was pretty much solely purchased to win the title so he could retire on a high.

Juan Mata was easily one of the best midfielders in the league, he just didn't suit Mourinho's style of play, the money was a bit hefty, but he is absolutely top class. Will he not get on under Mourinho once again? It remains to be seen but if he did leave the Prem it would be a real shame, I'd love him back at Chelsea.

Angel Di Maria was a signing the whole league was jealous of, thanks to the 'one Galactico in, one Galactico out' thing Real had going (Ozil) this was a truly magnificent signing, just a huge shame he wasn't used right. He's been phenomenal since leaving.

Now this is where the bear with me comes in. Schweinsteiger was a signing that was a little too late, sure, 2/3 maybe 4 years late but he was never going to leave Germany any earlier, think of him as the De Rossi of the Bundesliga, but Bayern evolved and with that he saw an opportunity, as did Utd. Hearing Schweinsteiger for just over £6m was very good business, very good business indeed but its just a massive massive shame his many years of dedication caught up with him in the form of injuries, as he was an LVG man. The commercial gain from signing him was very clever & well used in Germany.

Now that's all I'm going to write at the moment as I need a poo but I have views on signing players with potential, fees Utd have paid, and bad signings, if you want to know my thoughts then let me know, I am going to be genuine and impartial, not here to rip anyone apart so would be happy to share my thoughts if you want to know them.

This is an interesting post and is the type I like to read on the forum like this. Providing a different opinion.

Now the 4 players he had stated are all sort-of failures at the club to some extent. You could disagree by saying that RvP wasn't (which is true) as he did what he was meant to do- fire us to the title. That his decline came about pretty fast was not the club's fault.

Mata was a panic buy of the highest order. I like Mata, a nice player to have, a nice personality, loves the club, but his style of play doesn't really fit the club. More of a luxury player. He isn't fast enough to be a RW. He's best at No. 10, but he's not going to be played there now. Thinking with my brain Mata should actually leave this season for the benefit of all parties concerned- maybe use him as leverage for Pogba. I don't count him as a good signing as Moyes was forced into buying someone and Utd were basically ripped off. The price was not his fault though.

Di Maria is a great player, I am still bitter about his manner of departure but I believe he was a great purchase, and due to LvG's mismanagement we lost money on him as well as a world-class player. His success at PSG hurts too. Definitely a good signing despite the price, LvG's fault this did not work out.

Lastly, Schweinsteiger was a great buy in my opinion, the squad needed some leaders, experience, we got it. For that price it was not a risk anyway. Not like he was going to be the world-class CDM we needed, his off-field impact was as much.

Also a sidenote: Good to see Carrick signing a new contract yesterday.

Embolo and Morata linked to Utd- I can see us signing one of them, I'd prefer the Swiss.

So Ashtini, would be interested to hear more of your opinions.

Embolo has not been great this season apparently; I'd much prefer Morata, who I've been able to see more of, and have frankly been impressed by. A big game player, that's for sure, even if his goalscoring record does not back it up.

I'm with you here, mainly for the reason Morata is more of an out and out striker which Utd need and Embolo is very much like Martial of last season (winger/forward). (I am a fan of Embolo though, he is one of my two young attackers (who should actually start) to watch out for this Euros with Pjaca).

I agree will this up to the point of Schweinsteiger - He was brought in to boost that Midfield which he hasn't done

I still think Shaw and Martial are great signings - Shaw still needs to prove himself

I felt like Suarez did yesterday under what LVG was doing last year

People are hyping up Rashford taking Free kick as he has a Ronaldo/Beckham style to him - Scholes said ages ago that he has it in his locker, accordingly Hodgson impressed with his dead ball in training

Rumours

- Nani is nono - He wouldn't improve United

- Morata still - He only join if Ibra not there accordingly

- Mkhitaryan - He got the creativity, not sure on his defensive workrate

- Pogba - Best signing if it happens - I would use Mata and Darmain to persuade Juventus to sell

- Embolo - Like to see how he does in Euro's

Luke Shaw cannot be considered a great signing, only a potentially promising one.

Anthony Martial can be considered a good signing, but he won't be a great one until he justifies his price tag.

Nani is better than Lingard and Junazaj combined, and way more in form than Depay. Why not reuintie Valencia & Nani down the right, blistering pace with strong work ethics.

However I do not see the point of shelling money on Morata if he is not going to start as centre-forward (with Ibra coming in too and Rashford as well). Embolo makes more sense to me as he can play RW.

Besides, we'd only get one of Morata and Pogba. Also important to note that Madrid have an option on Morata, and we'd have to pay over the odds if they exercise that option. I like Morata, but we'd get ripped off by Madrid AGAIN.

I think Utd have crossed the Nani bridge and if they go for him it highlights how bad the dealing is, they sold Nani to buy him back a year later. Not even like he's been on a level of Ben Arfa-type renaissance.

Meanwhile, Spanish reports suggest de Gea was involved in the organisation of some porn video with a Spanish minor, a protected witness, with Muniain, Javi Martinez involved as well. This coming out on the eve of the Euros seems suspicious to me, and I'm not sure whether there is any truth in these, but if true, de Gea could end up in jail and ruin his career and his reputation. What do you guys think about this?

What does Martial have to do to justify himself? score 40 goals a season? He looks a dangerous threat on the ball when he on the flank, Defence doesn't know if he going to cut in or take them on

Nani is awful still and hardly tracks back, Lingard has his moments, Januzaj lost his confidences thanks to LVG, Depay needs a Fergie hairdryer treatment

I think it's all rubbish, why come out now? why isn't there been a court case?
