Agree with 3lton..

They are giving way too much for players.

Someone who invent something to safe human life dont get a 10% of that..

Its really funny.

Football is enjoyable to watch but when other people need money and resources then you see these ridiculous deals and wonder, that footballer is getting money he doesn't really deserve that much that others for something he enjoys anyway. Ridiculous IMO. They may have talent but they don't merit that money.

Most of players are really stupid, but they are lucky because they are borned with talent, someone who finish high school and collage cant have enough money to survive (at least in my country)..

Re: Official Red Devils thread

If we pay 40m+ for Bale I'l be shocked and disappointed. we have Valencia whos almost a right footed Bale when fit and Nani whos just better than Bale in every way possible. Not to mention the likes of bebe' date=' park, Obertan, Cleverly and we have more than enough wingers (wouldn't say know to a cheap left footed winger though)

We must get rid of some dead wood before we buy anyone. We have about 8 first team strikers!!![/quote']

I agree with the two footed thing that is a threat but Valencia's crosses are miles better but Nani's shots are his main threat.

Bebe has been given a good few chances, against Wolves he was awful and in the Champions League alright. I would love him to do well but considering he cost more than Hernandez and doesn't start for the reserves more often than not and hardly makes the bench he can't be described as anything else but a waste at the minute. Plus we didn't even need another attacker/winger.

Re: Official Red Devils thread

Ian, I thought because it was in the Sunday Mirror that it was rubbish but this was on ESPN:

Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed Manchester United could be set to spend this summer after he missed out on his key target in January.

United have made relatively modest investments in recent times in comparison to the likes of Manchester City and Real Madrid, but Ferguson said last summer that top-quality replacements would be required when his older players retired.

Gary Neville has now retired and Edwin van der Sar will follow at the end of the season, while it remains to be seen whether Paul Scholes will play on next year.

Ferguson has now said he felt United "had a chance" of adding a player in January - although he did not specify his position - and it appears the club will pursue at least one signing when the window reopens.

"Billionaire owners have introduced a new world that is turning football on its head," he told United Review. "For our part, we cannot afford to sit in an ivory tower. We have to face the challenge.

"It is a healthy competition and it goes without saying that we will not shirk it and I don't think we are doing so. Although I let the transfer window shut without signing a new player, that is because we did our homework some time ago and didn't have to rush into any emergency buying.

"We had an interest in one player, and I thought we had a chance of bringing him in, but the other parties involved weren't ready and so we have put it away until the summer."

The Sunday Mirror reports that Tottenham winger Gareth Bale is "at the head of their summer wanted list", while Aston Villa winger Ashley Young, Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina and Porto striker Hulk have also been linked with United. - Posted on the 13/02/11.

Now I didn't know that. Who was the player? Guesses?

Re: Official Red Devils thread

I agree with the two footed thing that is a threat but Valencia's crosses are miles better but Nani's shots are his main threat.

Entirely depends on how you look at it. Valencia (like Bale) is your old fashioned winger and most of his crosses are put into an area rather than aimed at anyone in particular. Nani on the other hand barring a few occasions tries to pick out someone in particular when he is crossing and when he gets it right you get crosses like the one against Villa. Might look bad when it dosen't come off but what Nani does is a lot more difficult. Another point that contradicts you is Nani has already assisted more from crosses this season than Valencia did in the whole of last and we still have 13 games left!! I'd prefer Bale over Valencia because he provides more of a scoring threat and the fact that he plays on the left. Both are as one footed as they come especially Valencia. Can't honestly remember him ever using his left foot. Nani not only provides you with the scoring threat but is hell of a lot more creative than either and not only in terms of direct assists but his overall play as well. Other than pace he is quite comfortably better than both Bale and Valencia. Yes he can be a hit and miss at times but with the way he is playing hes allowed that bit of liberty and freedom. Should be given the No.7 shirt next season imo.

Now it might sound like I hate Valencia but that's far from the case. Can't wait for him to come and he has one thing that Nani dosen't and that's pure pace. This season I don't expect him to start much but a Valencia coming off the bench in the last 20 minutes or so sounds very quite exciting to me.

Bebe has been given a good few chances' date=' against Wolves he was awful and in the Champions League alright. I would love him to do well but considering he cost more than Hernandez and doesn't start for the reserves more often than not and hardly makes the bench he can't be described as anything else but a waste at the minute. I ask you a question. Did you honestly expect him to to get game time? Hes come from the Portuguese 3rd division which is probably worse than the conference. In the games he has played, he has looked all right especially the Bursapor game where he did the 'bale' on their left back. Now he could be the next Francis Jeffers for all I know but until he has had a proper chance its quite harsh to call him a waste. You say we don't really need a winger/attacker and yet you want us to spend 40m+ on Bale??:o

On the reserves point, Bebe started and scored for the reserves against Oldham. A game which also say Petrucci play for the first time in over a year and was quite good apparently. Hopefully he can now stay fit and show his quality.

Re: Official Red Devils thread

AN APOLOGY

Based on certain peoples comments/actions over the last few days I have realised that my own forum behaviour has been rude and condescending on a number of occasions.

I accused a person of bullying, when in fact they were displaying similar traits to those that myself has previously shown - although I don't think I took it to the same extremes.

I will try to act my age in future and keep any references to football tourism to a joke level, IF I post anything like that at all.

Again, apologies to anyone I have offended and to fellow City\Rangers* fans who felt I was just being a %£"£ that would give them a bad name.

*or even Hyde

EDIT - also posted on the City thread as I've finally grown up :D

We also beat Newcastle 1-0 in the FA Youth Cup tonight' date=' should have been more really. Despite his problems, Ravel Morrison showed again tonight why its an absolute must why we must keep this guy. Very good tonight and scored an excellent goal too. Highlights can be seen here.

I was looking at the live text of this game on nufc.co.uk. It does seem that it was largely dominated by your team. :( What are the problems you speak of regarding Ravel Morrison? I heard he is quite good but have never seen him play before.

I read he was involved in the gang related activities and was suspended by the club for a while. He is a great talent but need's to sort himself of the field as he nearly got released from the club :(

yes :)

Re: Official Red Devils thread

only watched the first half yesterday but if he had a fit striker we would have murdered Newcastle. Some of the stuff played by Tunnicliffe, Morrison and co was superb. Also he was due in court last month as well apparently for witness intimidation amongst other things which was when the club was seriously contemplating releasing him.

anyone think josh king might be in the squad against crawley?

Would be surprised even though he is too good for the reserves. Reckon it will be Hernandez and Owen up front

Re: Official Red Devils thread

Interesting.

King (41)' date=' Pogba(42), Tunnicliffe (46) and Norwood(47) have all been given squad numbers now. Morrison already has no. 40 after his debut against Wolves. Is this an indication of participation in the Crawley game I wonder...[/quote']

Hope not. Interviews from the Crawley players want to play against United's best. Against the youth team they would have a much better chance, but to play against players they'll probably never again have the chance to face would be a dream for them.

You're gonna get some hate from Citeh fans on this thread if you support United and you're using that name...
