Re: Official Red Devils thread

If continue to play like this Liverpool will tear us a new one' date=' always raise their game against big clubs..[/quote']

It's questionable but, aren't Arsenal a big club? Liverpool played very poorly today against them.

It's not that they turn up for big games, they are just ridiculously inconsistent.

I expect you lot to raise your game against Liverpool - the current League Cup holders.

It will be like a cup final for United to play against a team who are the current holders of any trophy :)

No It won't. Perhaps that's how City looks at things. You're just getting used to what certain trophies look like in recent years :D

That CL Trophy is rather heavy btw if your lot is to ever lift one ;)

United's a different kettle of fish really. Obviously they wanted to win today and tried their best but they really despise United so their energy levels will be even higher or so you'd think.

Thats what United say about other teams coming to Old Trafford "it's their cup final"

As United are currently holders of.....nothing of note...it will be like a cup final for them to lay against a team who won silverware last season :)

Crazy to think how many so called 'cup finals' City had over the years then :P;)

According to you lot...every time we came to Old Trafford - and know what?

Some of those victories were like winning the cup to us, as at the time it was as close as we would actually get to having bragging rights never mind ever winning something!

My particular favourite was the 2-1, when our fans were 'impeccable' for the memorial remembering 50 years of the Munich Air Disaster.

Amazingly, it was United fans* who were the idiots who set off fireworks, outside the ground, during the minutes silence and it was United fans who, en masse, attacked** the City fans being peacefully escorted by the police down Talbot Road after the game.

*I know because it was my next door neighbour at the time

**I know because I watched it unfold from the Trafford Hall Hotel bar, amazingly the Manchester and national papers never reported it

I only started supporting City at the end of last season?

Oddly, I have over 4000 'loyalty points' with City - and you only get 190 for having a season ticket, and you get 10 for attending other home games and 20 for attending away games.

Not sure if United run a loyalty points scheme, but if they did I imagine your balance would be nil :)

Well I started supporting United the moment I was born, even if I'd have wanted to support City like my uncle my Dad wouldn't have had it, one of the first shirts I wore was a Cantona 7. Oddly enough, Arsenal won the league the year I was born, so I guess it's impossible for me to be a glory hunter too?

No we don't run one, and unless we get 0 for season tickets then I doubt that pal.

I don't actually have one *yet*, but I want to see your reaction.

Re: Official Red Devils thread

It's like a 'cup final' for most teams below the premiership (depending on whether or not they have previously been in the premiership for a long period of time - even then it still could be to those teams) when they visit Old Trafford, The Etihad, Stamford Bridge etc.

Boys and girls, you will be pleased to know that I have unsubscribed from this thread!

No particular reason!

God' date=' you fell into that trap, didn't you?[/quote']

Please do not refer to me as 'God' - as much as I love the adoration, I believe it is blasphemous to most, if not all, religions to consider me God-like :)
