Veigas 4,880
Re: English Championship 27777 - Discussion Thread SOLID UNITED PERFORMANCE TAKEN THEM 5 POINTS CLEAR As expected both teams fielded their strongest team for this important match, hoping for all 3 points. United pressed from the first minute and nearly took the lead on the 2nd minute. United went on to have 6 chances to Chelsea's 3 in the first half. After a action packed first half both teams when into the dressing room at 0 - 0. Half-Time changes for United meant Giggs had to give way to Hernandez. United changed from their trusted formation 4-4-2 to an more attacking formation in the form of 4-3-2-1. Hernandez pushed right to the front with Rooney and Persie playing just behind. United's second chance in the second half, a lightening fast exchange of passes between Persie and Hernandez, sees Hernandez free with only the keeper to beat and passing it past him to take United into the lead on the 61st minute. 1 - 0 Hernandez celebrates his opener Took only 2 minutes for Chelsea to bounce back, Martinez cracked one in from long range making it 1 - 1 on the 63rd minute. On the 71st minute a free kick is awarded. Rooney get on the end of the cross, nodding it into the path of Chiellini who its a sweet volley to make it 2 - 1. Man Of The Match: Chiellini - Kept Chelsea at bay, and scored the winner. Final Score: UNITED 2 Chelsea 1 A well deserved win for United after their solid display at home tonight as the stats show bellow. 56% Possession 44% 14 Shots 5 5 Shots On Target 2 8 Corners 2 United have now won 3 games in a row, and Chelsea have now gone 5 games without a win. Manager had this to say That was a nerve wrecking first half, as it went on I was thinking that this was not going to be our night as we couldn't find a way past their keeper. Decided to change things around at the break and go for it and it paid off, thank god. Really happy with that solid performance from the lads, hopefully we can push on and try maintain this good form for a chance at the tittle. 5 points clear now, but to me that means nothing. Things can change so quick but we are up for the challenge.

husnain 358
Re: English Championship 27777 - Discussion Thread Stoke City Update Haven't posted in a while due to exams etc but Im back and free now Had a great start to the season which saw me in the top 6 a lot but then dropped down to the relegation places. The recent 5-1 win against Racky's Everton has put me one place above the relegation spot only on goal difference. But recent signings such as Snejder (92) Evra (93) Arteta (91) Szczesny (89) and Bastos (90) could turn our season around again. And with the likes of Pirlo and Dante and Dzagoev already in the team I feel we can really pick up a few points now to survive with 10 games remaining!! Meanwhilw, Rakytsky (89) is available for sale if anyone is interested

Respect is due to Liverpool FC for making it a great contest and for their magnanimous and sportsmanlike manner in defeat. The manager now looks forward to being fully concentrated on a final push for the play-offs in Division 2 - a tall order but not impossible with 13 games still to go...
