St Pauli...

The promoted club have had a great start to the season,

winning their first 3 league matches which earned them a record

6 match winning streak.

This run was brought to a halt by Dortmund,

but manager Jose Nowinho was not surprised his team lost

to the German powerhouse.

9 points form 4 games is a fine start!

QPR Qualify For SMFA Football

After finishing 12th in the league in season 1, QPR manage a top 5 finish in season 2 qualifying for next seasons SMFA Shield! With 20 wins, 10 draws and 8 loses the West London team finished the season on 70 points, 6 behind 4th place Tottenham and 6 above 6th placed Southampton.

Season 2 Transfers

Out:

Season 2 saw 17 players leave Loftus Road including German defender Robert Huth who left for Spanish club Espanyol yesterday for 10 million.

In:

12 players joined QPR including:

Experienced English defender Phil Jagielka (8.4 million from Everton)

Brazilian attacking midfielder Alex Teixiera (11.1 million from Zenit)

Ex Chelsea attacker Salomon Kalou (8.5 million from Lille)

Promising 21 year old Dutch defender Bruno Martins Indi (12.2 million from Feyenoord)

Colombian attacker Adrian Ramos (6.4 million from Hertha Berlin)

Brazilian full back Goncalves Ismaily (5.7 million from Shakhtar Donetsk)

Loic Remy

QPR player of the season 2 seasons running with another outstanding display for his team.

Goals: Remy managed to score 23 goals in 31 games in season 2 for QPR just 5 goals short of the league top scorer Robin Van Persie

Assists: As well as 23 goals Remy assisted 11 goals in his 31 games

Man of the match 8 times

Forwards

Papiss Cisse Leading the attack with Remy scoring 15 and assisting 5 in 33 games.

Mame Diouf Although kept out of the first team by Cisse and Remy Diouf still managed 5 goals and 4 assists in only 11 games

Midfielders:

Lucas Fernando and Esteban Granero played the role of defensive midfield with ease and also managed 7 goals and 19 assists between them.

Douglas Costa The Brazilian attacking midfielder managed 6 goals and 13 assists in 22 games

Defenders

M'Bia, Bedimo, Jagielka, Martins Indi and captain Ashley Williams all had outstanding seasons in defence for QPR and are the main reason for the teams 5th place finish.

What next?

A number of QPR players are attracting interest from big teams but the manager hopes to hold on to most of his players with SMFA football next season.

QPR managed to get to the English Shield Quarter Final before losing to Tottenham 3-1 but were knocked out in Round 1 of the English Cup by supprise giant killers Brantree Town 2-0.

The manager has said ' a couple of players may leave and we will obviously look to replace them and also bring in a few more squad players to add depth to hopefully push for a repeat of this season and better our cup performance.'
