CiaranMc 2,519
Re: German Championship 7554 - Discussions,M/Rs & Transfers Division 2 Team Of The Week (Turn 2) Goalkeeper: In goals it was a one horse race as VFR Aalen's Daniel Bernhardt made save after save to keep his team the valuable point against Ingolstadt. Defender: Bochum's Younes Kaboul had an amazing game for his team as he played an outstanding part in Bochum's 3-0 win, Kaboul was a rock at the back and very reliable as he proved in the game. Defender: Hertha Berlins very own Koscielny played his socks of in Herthas 5-1 win over Padeborn, Koscielny was solid through out the whole game not making any mistakes but saving the keeper on numerous occasions. Defender: Munichs Bonnucci was in top form in their 3-0 win over Jahn Regensburg, He showed why he's up there with the top defenders in the League, but as a normal player he made one or two mistakes but Julio Cesar was to the rescue, apart from this he was flawless, lots of clean tackles and a rock in the air. Midfielder: Hertha Berlin's Javi Fuego was just hands down amazing this week, he was all over the pitch getting tackles in but being very decisive while attacking, he managed to score a hat-trick and get a Man OF The Match Award, Easily player of the week. Midfielder: Another Hertha Berlin player joins TOTW but this time it's Torres Juanfran who got a flawless rating of 10 and was just over all a solid player in the game and he managed to score himself a goal. CiaranMc 2,519
Re: German Championship 7554 - Discussions,M/Rs & Transfers Division Two Team Of The Week (Turn 2) Part 2 Midfielder: Berlin's Torsten Mattuschka played an amazing game but didn't get as much credit for his performance, he was very defensive minded but also scored a very important goal for Berlin which raised the teams heads and performed his duty's of a Captain very well. Forward: Another Hertha Berlin player in the TOTW and this time it's Michu who had lots of chances to punish the team more but could only find the net once but still showed some real class and elegance about his play. Forward: Munich's Andy Carroll had an amazing game being a real aerial threat to the opposition but yet he wasn't accurate enough, he still got a goal and an assist to his name to give him a overall rating of 10. Forward: Munich's Diego Costa also had to be put in the TOTW as he had an amazing game attacking wish and passing wise, he scored a quality finish to leave the keeper dazzled, he also set up the two other goals scored by his fellow team mate who makes an appearance on TOTW Andy Carroll. Ashley Holtom welcomes long time rival Sir Alex Ferguson to the Volkswagenarena for the first time last night hoping to get Wolfsburgs first home game of the season up and running.Wolfsburg who lost there fist home game of the season along with E.Frankfurt got of to a bad start going behind after the 3rd minute with a goal from E.Oscar. Wolfsburg did pull one back on the 13th minute mark through G.Cahill and then another in the 26th minute through C.Tevez. It was all one way traffic from there as Sir Alex's men pilled on another 3 goals to win the game 4-2. Sir Alex was all smiles after the game as he got his first 3 points of the season and was happy to get one over his long time rival Mr Holtman.Sir Alex did invite Ashley into there dressing room after the game to share a bottle of win but Hotlman kindly refused. When Sir Alex was asked in this after match press conference on why Ashley declined the offer for a drink Sir Alex went on to say, "He is sitting rock bottom at the moment with no points after 2 games, its going to be a long season for Wolfsburg and after the score line they got tonight i would not want to have a drink with anyone either". Cavani scored a goal and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance. Garay was also on the scoresheet for his side. 6 points from a possible 6 so far. With more possession and shots on goal then Dusseldorf we feel the win was a deserved one.
Hancock 12,987
Re: German Championship 7554 - Discussions,M/Rs & Transfers Mainz 1 - 0 Bremen L. MOURA 4 Lucas fires Mainz to victory Mainz got their first win of the season with a 1-0 victory at home against Werder Bremen. Mainz were unlucky to not walk away with 3 points in the season opener against Bayern despite Brazilian Superstar Lucas's outstanding performance. This match however, the 20 year old was impressive yet again and he got the victory for his side. It was an impressive turn-out at the Coface Arena as 33,989 spectators were in the stadium. An early goal in the 4th minute from Lucas was enough to seal the win for his side. The Brazilian was named the Man of the Match as well. Mainz have taken 4 points out of a possible 6 and currently sit 4th in the table. It's a tough run-in early on for Mainz as they have already faced two of the stronger teams in the Bundesliga in Bayern and Bremen and they host Dortmund next. After the Dortmund match, Mainz also have two very difficult matches against Leverkusen (away) and Schalke (home). Manager Jay Gonzanez will certainly be hoping that his side continue playing well and will be aware that unless his side perform very well they have next to no chance of beating Dortmund. ashtini, LegendaryLemon and Reverie
