jharts 10
I really like the look of this game, lots of positive features it seems. Love the accuracy of player data and huge databases etc. 1 - I've played many online footy games before but this seems huge! Are there seriously thousands of managers playing it? 2 - As a result there seems to be huge numbers of Gameworlds. I know this has probably been discussed thousands of times in the past years, but surely having consolidating them would be better rather than havng 20-30 managers per world. 3 - My first team I was given says tutorial championship, will that always be the case, or will it automatically delete at some point? 4 - There are virtually no active managers in that world, so transfers are dead and seems little fun trying to beat Computer managed teams. Can I move to a different club? 5 - I get the impression that to play this seriously, I ought to pay to join the Gold Leagues right?? 6 - I dont understand scouting or buying 'external' players, does that mean there could be lots of Messi's in one world? 7 - If I go GOLD, will that rid me of the adverts all over the screen, like some games offer? That would convince me! 8 - How come my second team (Northampton)'s stadium is larger than real life? Where can I expand stadium etc? 9 - Am I wrong to think finances don't seem to play a big part here other than bank balance and transfers? As in will sponsors bail out at the end of seasons? 10 - Why don't I have the little globe on the menu bar for my original club? Hope someone can help me with these first ten. Thanks in advance. jh

Thanks in advance. jh[/quote'] Will try: i. Thats what we are told..not sure if it's teams controlled/accounts or managers they refer too ii.It's been discussed, however with the rise of pay to create your own special game world iii. Not sure about this-maybe a mod can answer this-the guys with the couloured name tags.. iv.You should be able to and there are many active forum gameworlds that are looking for managers v.No you don't the only advantages you have is the number of teams per account you can manage, stored transfer lists, playing in GC's and smfa tournaments and holiday mode. Never had myself and don't need it. vi.No it means you can buy players from clubs outside your league. the transfer market is divided into two areas internal (teams within your league which generally deal only with cash (or part exchange of players in some custom made gameworlds) and external (buying/selling to clubs outside your league e.g. if you play in the English league then Barca, Celtic, Lyon would all be external clubs and generally do both part exchange and cash deals). vii.Not sure as I am not a gold user viiii. You can't expand the stadium. Stadium capacity is generally the average of your division so if you get promoted you will get a stadium increase. ix. You are partially right/wrong, finances are generated by home games played/cup and shield matches/smfa matches and most importantly selling and buying of players. If you go into deficit you cannot buy players. You have to maintain a minimum of 21 players in your squad btw. Winning cups/shields/leagues gives you a varying amount of cash and you do get a small amount of money from your chairman x. CCFC_2009 179
Re: I'm new so have lots of questions... I've been playing for 4/5 years now and never felt the need to go gold. If you use firefox you can use ad blocker to stop advertisements. At the end of each season your chairman will decide weather to expand your stadium, this will only be done if you are selling out your current capacity every week and are generally performing well. I've never used the scouting system but external clubs are clubs which are not active in your gameworld, so if you are in an English championship (4 divisions) then clubs outside England are external. You can't manage them at any point in that gameworld, they still have a squad but don't participate in any leagues. The computer buys and sells players for external clubs to try an stop the transfer market going stale, so you can still buy from external clubs. No there can't be a lot of Messi's in one gameworld. At the beginning of a new gameworld Messi will be in the Barcelona squad. If he is sold to another club and you wanted Messi on your team you would have to purchase him from his new club he moved to. The finance system is pretty basic, the main two things are attendances and wage bill. Unless you have like 70k attendances you will likely lose much money each turn, you gain a small amount at the end of each season based on your league position. Your main source of money will come from selling players who you have purchased cheap for mega cash and the best way to build up good teams is to wheel and deal and trade, buy good youth players who will either develop into good players or can be sold to fund moves for more established players. http://www.soccermanager.com/help.php Go here for more info. arampage
