Pereira: "Other British clubs were interested. I thought about it, but Manchester United is a dream club for me. I have been a few times to Manchester United to have a look. I got a tour and spoke with Sir Alex Ferguson. Being a 15-year-old and being able to talk with him is great!"

Belgium U17: 8 Games - 1 Goal

Belgium U16: 9 Games - 10 Goals

Belgium U15: 7 Games - 1 Goal

With excellent technical ability for a player of his age, his touch and ability to control the ball is very good. Pereira also has excellent dribbling skills and is able to run past defenders with ease. Where Pereira most excels is his ability to retain possession under pressure. With a good range of passing and sublime vision, he has often been compared to Paul Scholes and Xavi, such is his ability to pick out the run of almost any of his team mates. Andreas Pereira can also take set pieces, such as free kicks. The future looks extremely bright for the teenager who will be buoyed by the fact that three fellow Brazilians have made the first team in Rafael, Fabio and Anderson.

Defensively, he offers a good eye for the interception. Being a player who's always on the lookout for where to play the next pass, Pereira has good ability to read his opposite number's game, and he uses that well to make some key interceptions.

His only problem is that he does prefer to seek out the Hollywood pass when better, easier options are available, but that's understandable for a young player who's looking to impress.

Andreas Hoelgebaum Pereira, the son of former Brazilian footballer Marcos Pereira, was born in Brazil on January the 1st 1996, but raised in Belgium. Andreas Pereira started his career in Lommel before joining PSV Eindhoven in Netherlands.

Manchester United won the race to sign PSV Eindhoven's Brazilian-born midfielder, Pereira confirmed that he will join in January 2012 when he turned 16. The Red Devils beated competition from five of Europe’s heavyweights, including Barcelona, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich who had all registered interest in the talented teenager.

Pereira has become an important member of the United's Under-18 side this season, forming a strong partnership with fellow prospects Mads Daehli and Adnan Januzaj and has featured for the clubs U21s.

Andreas Pereira is also familiar to the youth levels of the Belgium national team. He has played 7 matches, scoring ones for the Belgium U15. At the Belgium U16 he has been tremendous, scoring 10 goals in 9 caps. Today Pereira plays for the 'Magic' Belgium U17.

With a ferocious shot and a habit for scoring top notch goals in the Barclays U18 Premier League, there’s no doubt that we’ll be hearing a lot more about Pereira in the near future and who knows, he may one day reach the standard of fellow countrymen Moussa Dembele and Marouane Fellaini and take the Premier League by storm.
