Re: GC336 - Discussions,M/R's and Transfer news

yeah prolly gonna give the gc350 a bash myself, not to sure on which country though yet, also just thought i'd mention aswell as when i first joined i didn't notice this either but just looked at your team and you got quite a few decent rated players still out loan(that would of been there because the loans were still taking place in real life when the gameworld started) but as they've ended now(in r.l) you'd be able to recall 'em to give you a bit more depth or atleast you can sell em on to make a quick buck or two

Re: GC336 - Discussions,M/R's and Transfer news

no worries, yeah what it is, is you know on the player profiles, well under there picture you got the teams their at etc, well the bit thats in like italics is where they are in r.l currently if that doesn't say that there currently on loan to club they are at then you can recall them straight away(only exception to this is if the club they are at is also an external club within that gameworld then you can recall them regardless), the perma loan thing is annoying but thankfully its only in affect at the start of new gameworlds

Sinar arrives in Turkey

Rumours had been circulating in Istanbul that Englishman Tom Sinar was set to return from retirement after a prolonged absence from the game and was to set to secure a deal to manage Turkish giants Fenerbahçe SK.

A deal had then been completed and announced on the club's official website that Sinar had infact returned as reported and has secured a two year deal with the Yellow Canaries. This was greeted by cheers from the fans, who had queued outside the training ground of Fenerbahçe to see the highly-rated manager sign for the club.

After photographs and interviews, Sinar took time out to address the fans via translator, as he gets to grip with the Turkish language.

"I'm delighted to sign a two year deal with Fenerbahçe and proud to be part of a club with a fantastic history with a reputation that surpasses most teams".

Having been asked to give assurances to fans about a change in mind about leaving the game of football again, Sinar quickly squashed these ideas saying that his love for football had come back stronger than ever before.

--------------

Season Expectations

With the club currently 2nd in the table and club participating in 4 tournaments this season, Sinar has been passed on massive expectations from both the board and the fans respectively.

Sinar admits the pressure is something that isn't going to go away with talk, but with results.. "With the stature of our club it's only natural for us to expect glory in whatever competition we're in, but it's different this year. There are strong rivalries between clubs in this league, and football is everything to the fans in this country. We have a good winning streak at the moment, which fuels confidence into the players and fans alike, and you can expect us to be there at the very top this season".

Having been knocked out of the Turkish Shield in the 1st Round by arch rivals Besiktas, the Turkish giants are in the SMFA Champions Cup, the most prestigious competition in the game, and are heading towards qualification with 4 points from the first two games, in a group that contains Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspurs.

Sinar's men also are competing in the Turkish Cup, which they currently have a bye in the first round, with second round matches kicking off in October.

--------------

Squad, Tactics and Transfers

Sinar met the depleted squad of Fenerbahçe, currently low on players after a series of outgoing transfers, including star players Raul Meireles, Moussa Sow, and Dirk Kuyt. Just one player has come into the squad, defensive midfielder and Argentine International Lucas Biglia.

Sinar revealed he is in the process of signing a few players, looking for cover in areas that lack competition. "We have bid for one or two players at the moment, how the transfer will go around in the next 24 hours we don't know. After the recent departures of Sow and Kuyt we are a bit exposed in the forward department, so a suitable striker arriving is the main priority".

"Due to the shortage in centre-backs strong enough to fit into my team, a defender is also needed, due to the fixture congestion we face".

When asked about if Sinar will play his traditional 4-5-1 formation, a formation which has brought him and his past teams success, the new manager smiled and explained that he is keeping quiet on the formations he will play, but did admit a change in tactics was needed due to the change of play over the last couple of years.

"We have attackers who we can utilize in formations by playing them on the wings or anywhere on the front line. As the years have gone by, tactics have changed and become more modern. Obviously we will have to adapt to the change and we have the squad to do so".

Famous for his free-flowing, attacking style of play, Sinar did reveal that he will keep the same momentum going in his teams. "To win games you have to score goals, and in the process of that we will try and play a short passing game which will please the fans. We already have the best goal-scoring record in the division and we will use this to our advantage. Attack and creativity is important, and I shall influence the players to be fluid and play as much as a free-role as possible".

--------------

Fixtures and Results

With Fenerbahçe currently 2nd in the League and top of the group in the SMFA Champions Cup, Sinar has faces tough fixtures in his return to management.

Shortly, Fenerbahçe will take on English side Tottenham Hotspurs in Sinar's first game, and the Englishman has warned his new team of his fellow nations side. "Tottenham are a great team and a team we have to be wary about on the counter. They like to play good football and they are serious about this competition, just as we are".

Sinar has revealed that in his line up tonight, he has rested a number of vital players and has placed reserve players in the lineup. "We have rested important players for tonight because we would like to focus on the league at the moment. When I have brought in more players we will pose more threat to the Cup, but for the time being I'd like my main squad fully fit".

Sinar's first league game will be against main rivals Galatasaray away, and Sinar is excited that his return to management will be a big local derby. "It's fantastic for me to come back and witness a glorious local derby. I am no strangers to derbies and I will understand we will have to be at our best to beat a very good side, who is in good form at the moment. It will be a daunting task to go to their ground, infront of a hostile crowd and try and play our game but we will relish the opportunity".

Captaincy

Having already assessed the squad, Tom Sinar has quickly announced a change to the setup at the Yellow Canaries in appointing a new captain.

Portugese international Bruno Alves, who himself arrived not too long before Sinar, has been appointed captain for the current season. The defender, who has 63 caps for the Portugal has been praised by Sinar for his leadership and has been made aware of his duties as captain of Fenerbahçe SK.

Fenerbahce edge Spurs

Tonight marked Tom Sinar's first match back from retirement and first match for Fenerbahce in a crucial game against English outfit Tottenham Hotspurs.

Sinar had stated this although this game was important, he would not take to heart a loss due to the priority of the competitions due to the lack of players in the squad. However, after tonight the new manager may have to rethink what he said as a second string side thumped Tottenham Hotspurs 3-0.

With a flat 4-4-2 formation being played, Sinar made a lot of changes to the last game.

Fenerbahce: Demirel, Alkan, Kaldirim, Kesimal, Korkmaz, Potuk, Ozturk, Sahin, Senturk, Aydin, Karakabak

Spurs: Lloris, Walker, Fryers, Matip, Parker, Pogba, Draxler, Dembele, Jovetic, Lennon, Mertens

First Half

With an attendance of 50,522, the roaring crowd filling the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadı, the game got underway and within 13 minutes Semih Senturk who was leading the forward lines tonight for the Turkish giants who got the ball rolling, with a pass to winger Onur Karakabak just inside the penalty box of the opposition, who then slotted past the French captain. Senturk was then the man who got the 2nd goal for the Yellow Canaries from a corner, and the striker's header went in off the post. Just one minute later from the second goal, Fenerbahce scored their 3rd goal and Karakabak scored his 2nd after the left winger dribbled the ball inside the box and slotted in the bottom corner.

Second Half

In the second half Spurs came out from the tunnel looking downbeat and shocked by the first half's events. Fenerbahce would've increased their lead through Senturk on two occasions but Lloris came out the victor in both one on ones. Demirel was rarely tested but denied Jovetic on two occasions with two fantastic saves.

Full Time: Fenerbahce 3-0 Tottenham Hotspurs

Sinar then commented after the game, "It was a fantastic performance and I'm totally surprised. We dominated the game, we played well and in the end we showed more fight than the opposition and it showed at the final whistle. This is an important victory as we are I'd say only one win away from qualification to the knockout stages, which would be a great achievement. I'm delighted for the lads who don't get much game time with us which is a shame but it's good for them to get a run out tonight and in cup ties like this, and they did themselves proud".

Stay tuned for transfer news and pre-match interviews before Wednesday's local derby with Galatasaray.
