An important win for Burnley tonight! 2-0 over Leyton. Axel Witsel was instrumental for us, scoring both goals. He showed all his quality and was voted MOTM.

We improved our position a little. I hope we can win the next match in order to build some momentum!

Re: English Championship 28697 Discussion Thread

After their result against Kidderminster Harriers, Gateshead are now unbeaten in 11 games setting a new club record for most games unbeaten in a row.

Only the top 2 and me in 9th undefeated this term. 4 draws to start the campaign was frustrating, but back to back wins Ft. a squeaky one last round and a 5-1 thrashing of Kidderminster this round ( play one game with rested players, so sacking the first team :P) means we sit in 9th.

Tim Ream has came in to sure up the defence, Dong-Won Ji leading the line nicely and Prcic our on loan Playmaker scores his first goal, so all is proceeding nicely.

Re: English Championship 28697 Discussion Thread

We rested a few players for fitness issues meaning there were starts for Sam Mitchinson (70) and new signing Jay Fulton (78), things didn't look good as we went 1-0 down to a Gray goal in the 15th minute but Birsa levelled things up a minute later, Jay Fulton edged us ahead with a goal just before HT and Man of the Match Rafa Marques put us out of reach just after half time, a nice 3-1 puts us on 13 points just 3 points off the lead.

Pleased with the start we have made to the season with four wins, a draw and a defeat to in-form Notts County.

Marquez, Ijnovski, Monk and Birsa are rested for the next game against Preston but back come Mitroglou, Bamba, Mendy and Tremoulinas so we can increase our starting average to out max 87.

Jonas and Andersen were also amongst the goalscorers.

Keeping nicely on

Northampton Get Their First Win Of The Season

In Other News:

The offer for Moritz LEITNER of Northampton Town from AFC Bournemouth has been accepted. The transfer will be completed within the next 24 hours.

After a reported 3 days negotiating, first team player Leitner has decided to leave Northampton and travel 15 places up the table to AFC Bournemouth; with Franseco Bardi, Oliveira Wallace and £1million in 10p coins coming the other way. Rumor's had been circling about Leitner's anger with a recently declined wage increase, and a recent twitter post showed his dismay at Northampton's continual signings;

Hard to build chemistry when you have so many new faces all the time, we're not playing like we use to! #JustSaying #Truth #SplitsonTrees

Since then Leitner's unhappiness has shown in his performances and yet most Northampton fans are sad to see the back of him, with even the head of the fans committee saying: 'We have simply swapped one great first team player for two okay subs, we have to concentrate on the present as of now, not on the future, this won't help us stay up!'.

Although, Cedd has not yet responded to this criticism he has said: 'It was nice to do my business internally, it worked well with Firmino, who should of bloody risen btw, and it will hopefully work again now'

Stuart Pearce earned a draw with Manchester United against Sunderland.

The match ended 2 - 2 between Manchester United and Sunderland in their Division 1 fixture.

özil was on the scoresheet for his side.

got ravaged in the first half and could of been a lot worse than just two nil, but a tactical change from sunderland at half time actually seemed to work in my favour and ozil managed to drag us back into the game with two vital second half goals

Burnley beat Milton Keynes Dons 2 - 1 in their Division 3 fixture.

Fekir scored a goal and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.

Bacca was also on the scoresheet for his side.

Back to back wins for Burnley, things are looking better for us now. It would be great to keep into winning ways in the next league matches. Dries Mertens will not be part of that though, as he picked up an injury and he will be out for about a week.

up to 12 games undefeated and stll the club record with a 1-0 win, could have been a lot more, but the GK got MOTM for the losing side he kept out that many!

David Costas, promising young Celta Vigo backman has joined as our star signing

Was surprised to take a 2-0 lead with just one up front, then paid the price for throwing on two strikers second half.

We had a go and I'll take a point at OT any day.

Have since played the 'noisy neighbours' and earned another draw to go 2nd thanks to Chelsea slipping up at home to Liverpool.

Was looking for an improvement this season but never expected to get off the mark like this, albeit only 5 games in.

Keep it up, lads... :)
