Re: English Championship 28697 Discussion Thread

The Black Cats are bravely scrambling away behind you' date=' Stuart, but your excellent form is hard to live with.

13 points clear of 3rd is some achievement at this early stage of the season - good work... :)[/quote']

thanks, hopefully it'll stay that way for a long while yet.;)

Stuart Pearce steered Manchester United to victory against Southampton.

Manchester United beat Southampton 2 - 0 in their Division 1 fixture.

Reus scored a goal and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.

Busquets was also on the scoresheet for his side.

did have the ball in the net a third time(aguero/89th min) but unfortunately in was ruled offside,

other results went in my favour aswell tonight and i've managed to pull a little further away from 2nd placed sunderland.

next game will be a tricky one to call though as i'm playing last season's league champions, but saying that so far this season they haven't been in the best of form so hopefully sunday isn't the time they decide to make a run for the top

Re: English Championship 28697 Discussion Thread

The slow rebuild at Doncaster Rovers continues with a 3-3 draw against Wycombe Wanderers.

Our second team certainly challenged the Wanderers to be better but the sending off of Pereirinha was a massive shot in the foot as the Wycombe scored all three goals after his sending off!

Given that most of my players were on transfer ban, I've had to be patient and try to find new ways of getting results but our new recruits Costil and man mountain Joseph Yobo have helped our cause. Hopefully Vladimir Granat can come back within the next two matches and form a formidable central defensive partnership with Yobo.

However since the distraction of the cups are gone, we can fully focus on the league and slowly but surely go onwards and upwards :D

Everton 4 Birmingham 1 ...

Everton marched into the play off positions, after a thumping 4-1 victory at home to Birmingham. The manager "The Treble 1999" is hoping this is the season to take the Blues back to the big time.

Goals from Mathieu, Lavezzi, Kroos and a wonder goal from Christiano Ronaldo secured Everton's fourth league win on the bounce.

Up next a tricky away tie at Nottingham Forrest...

Hull City beat Portsmouth 5 - 1 in a thrilling Division 2 encounter.

Okazaki scored a goal and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.

Bruce and Nasri were also amongst the goalscorers.

Happy with the result against a rock bottom team, we move into 3rd place on the table.

After their result against Ebbsfleet United, Southend United are now unbeaten in 10 games setting a new club record for most games unbeaten in a row.

Southend United continue their amazing form :D

The win takes us to 5th place just behind 4th place Ebbsfleet who are ahead on GD.

Quite happy considering the fact that Southend don't have an exceptional squad compared to other teams in Div 4.

Quite a few games to go but Southend are confident and definitely aiming for the title this season.

The match ended 1 - 1 between Burnley and Preston North End in their Division 3 fixture.

Sergi Roberto scored the only goal for Burnley and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.

Looks like all the top teams from Division 3 got a draw last night(!) so no big harm for us. We keep our good position. Next we will have a tough match, facing Port Vale away, but i hope we manage to win and finally jump into the play-off zone!

Another draw for us this time we were a bit lucky though, 1-1 with top of the table Chesterfield, need to turn some of these recent draws to wins.

Good game mate.

Four draws and a win in last five games is a bit frustrating, we have changed tactics but still the stalemate returns.

Agüero and Fàbregas were also amongst the goalscorers.

also because of the scoreline broke another individual record

The Manchester United club record for highest scoring league game has been broken. The game against Tottenham Hotspur finished 7 - 1

Bacca scored a goal and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.

Witsel and Roberto were also amongst the goalscorers.

A great win last night made us finally jump into play-off zone! Our best players showed all their talent. It's been a great run for us after a rusty start of the season. We're 6th now, only 3 points behind 1st! Things are extremely tight at the top! It's really interesting, it will be a great fight!

Re: English Championship 28697 Discussion Thread

The Doncaster revival is slowly but surely coming along with an impressive 3-1 victory over Leyton Orient. Goals to Man of the Match Jack Colback and new signing Paraguyuan striker Oscar Cardozo got a valuable brace on debut.

The changes at the Dons have been slow, mostly due to the player's being on transfer ban but after the transfers of keeper Benoit Costil and central defender Joseph Yobo, we are delighted to introduce new signings Oscar Cardozo and Loris Benito. Along with loan signing Laurens De Bock from Manchester City.

Paraguayan striker Oscar Cardozo, 31 will add some much needed bite in the Dons attack and scoring a brace on his debut was just the start that he was looking for.

Left fullback Loris Benito, 22 will provide versatility on the left hand side (being able to play leftback, left midfield and defensive midfield) and since we don't have a designated left footed fullback on the left hand side of the defense, this signing made sense to me.

The loan signing of central defender Laurens De Bock, 21 will provide the Dons some much needed depth in our most weak area, central defense. His ability to play on left fullback will help as well with no real designated left back at the moment.

With the imminent return of Russian central defender Vladimir Granat, he will most likely form a strong partnership with Joesph Yobo at the heart of my defense. Since my tenor at Doncaster, I haven't had a side this solid all season and I'm looking forward to see what they can do.

Just a quick question about transfers, can someone tell me why players from external sides, reject my offers when they are of chairman value?

had to hang on to an early lead in this one after for some bizarre reason reus decides to go and two foot someone and get himself straight red-carded for no apparent reason making the win and the upcoming fixtures an even harder task to get done, looks like pjanic is going to get a much awaited run in the squad in his place

Burnley slumped to a 3 - 0 defeat against Fulham in their Division 3 fixture.

Our tactic for this match did not work as we failed to dominate possession. There was not many goal chances in this match, but Fulham took them few very well and got a deserved win. They have an amazing top eleven! We need to forget this loss and focus on winning our next match, vs Stevenage away.

Regarding transfers, Marvin Plattenhardt is for sale for 5.8M at Burnley! 22 years old LB/LM playing in Bundesliga. If you're interested make your offer. Cheers.

GLORY DAYS steered Doncaster Rovers to victory against Milton Keynes Dons.

Doncaster Rovers beat Milton Keynes Dons 1 - 0 in their Division 3 fixture.

Marlos scored the winner for Doncaster Rovers and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.

The Dons record 7 match unbeaten run continues with a 1-0 win over MK Dons. Brazilian winger Marlos scored the decisive goal!

The Rovers had a bit more to report with transfer reinforcements

Abou DIABY has completed his move to Doncaster Rovers from Montpellier HSC in a swap deal for Reginaldo MAICOSUEL

An absolute bargain for the Dons for the powerful midfielder Abou Diaby. Although plague with injuries in real life for Arsenal, Diaby will provide great depth to our midfield group and at $3.6 million, the offer was too hard to pass up. With only Prib and Colback as viable options in the centre of midfield prior to the capture of Diaby, the former French International can play defensive midfield, center midfield and attacking midfield which will give us a lot of versatility.

Ja-Cheol KOO has completed his move to Doncaster Rovers from 1. FSV Mainz 05 for 5,230,000

Doncaster Rovers broke our transfer record with the signing of Korean international Koo Ja Cheol. Quite a bargain given the price tag, a player who can virtually play all around in the midfield with good effect. I have him in my Chesterfield side in 7046 and he has proven quite a treat there, so hopefully he will prove to be a value signing.

Burnley slumped to a 1 - 0 defeat to Stevenage in their Division 3 fixture.

Ruffier had an impressive game and was voted Man of the Match.

A match that we completely dominated, 58% vs 42% ball possession, 32(18) vs 13(10) in shots, but we failed to score... Frustrating  Really funny that SM gave MOTM award to my goalkeeper... Sick  We drop to 10th place, still only 3 points from play-off zone and 4th place, 7 points from the lead. We really need to win our next match, at home vs Leeds United. It wont be easy though, as they're a strong opponent having a good season.

Daniel OPARE has completed his move to Burnley from FC Porto for 4,833,000

We were active in the market in this last days. We were in debt, so we needed to sell. We sold Ruben Perez for 6.7M (we bought him for 4.2M just 3 months ago, so it's a nice profit there :D) and Marvin Plattenhardt for 4.5M (no loss/win here). They're kinda frindge players, so we don't loose much. With the money we raised, we managed to clear our debt, and we brought in two great young players from portuguese giants Porto and Benfica. Daniel Opare and Anderson Talisca! They will be important players for us and they may have a great future ahead. Both our team and our finances improved from this! Happy B)
