QPR v AFC Bournemouth

Match Preview

Maurcio Pochettino will being his reign as Queens Park Rangers manager tomorrow evening against newly promoted AFC Bournemouth. The R's side who will feature a completely new starting 11 from the one that was relegated last season are hopeful of a winning start to kick off what is expected to be a title challenging season. Already made 1/3 favorites to win the division 2 title by bookmakers BetAshh the pressure is on Maurico Pochettino's men to deliver from day one

QPR are expected to line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation playing Pochettino's familiar and effective high pressing game with emphasis on controlling the tempo of the game as well as the direction of play. With double training sessions for the entirety of the pre season QPR are looking a very fit and mobile side currently already registering 3 wins in there first 3 pre season matches scoring 10 without conceding.

Key Man - Fernando Llorente

The striker signed yesterday from Italian side Juventus is QPR's biggest threat esspically against the week backline of Bournemouth. Huge things are expected of Llorente and QPR fans as well as manager Maurico Pochettino will be hoping he can start scoring right from the outset!

Pre Season

[A] MK Dons

[A] Derby County

[A] Macclesfield Town

Double training sessions and good wins in early pre season games have given QPR fans some hope for a good start to the season. All 3 games esspically the victory over fellow Division 2 side Derby County have been dominant displays of Pochetino's style.

Expected Line Up

Patrico (90)

Pereira (90) - N'Koulou (89) - Bocchetti (89) - Lulic (89)

Inler (91) - Khedira (92)

Lavezzi (92) - Gaitan (89) - Rodriguez (90)

Llorente (91)

There's no denying that QPR's first 11 deserves to be in the premier league but can these highly paid illustrious stars find motivation competing in the English second tier? On their day the likes of Lavezzi , Rodriguez and Llorente are more than capable of tearing teams apart so they should have no trouble smashing a few past Bournemouth tomorrow.

Bournemouth in brief

Bournemouth managed by the respected Ciaran Mcevoy , the young manager who also only took over this summer has had a more steady stream of transfers in to the club. With most of last years promotion winning side retained and the additions of talented young Welshman Jon Williams , Belgium youngster Lestienne and striker Ben Khalifa the team has potential to have a good season in division 2 although there not expected to challenge near the top.

Key Man - Jon Williams

Signed for the huge fee of £7,000,000 alot is expected of young Jon Williams. An impressive season with Crystal Palace last term it was widley expected he would remain at palace however the lure of Bournemouth beach must of proved to much. A quality young central midfielder with unlimited potential he could prove the difference between a good and bad season for Bournemouth.

We expect to start the season with a victory. There's no doubting on paper we have the best side in the league and we must show we mean business by starting in manner that puts fear in to all other sides in the league. Bournemouth are a good side and no disrespect to them but we have to win in order to kick star our campaign.

Northampton Transfer/Squad Update

Name: Christian Lobato

Position: LB/DM/LM

Rating: 83

Value: £4.7mil

Bought For Equivalent Of: £1.4mil

Info: Bought as he was immensely cheap for his rating, could get a +1 rise as constant performances. Also useful as he can play many positions.

Name: Anthony Brooks

Position: CB/LB

Rating: 83

Value: £6.5mil

Bought For Equivalent Of: £3.1mil

Info: Although he was a large price even if he doesn't get a rating increase, which he is due after helping H.Berlin getting promoted, he will still be sold on at a profit. Should fortify the defence and only 20 years old!

Name: Silva Digao

Position: CB/DM

Rating: 82

Value: £3.6mil

Bought For Equivalent Of: £1.9mil

Info: Bought because he should get a nice rise after playing consistenly for Fluminense. He also fits well into my 3-5-2 formation and should replicate the fearful role of Mikel in his games.

Name: Luca Castiglia

Position: DM/CM/LM

Rating: 82

Value: £3.8mil

Bought For Equivalent Of: £1.3mil

Info: This player was snapped up due to his incredibly low price. He is also quite high rated and will certainly help out the midfield options. Any player over 80 in league 4 is real quality and he came cheap!

Name: Roberto Colombo

Position: GK

Rating: 80

Value: £1.4mil

Bought For Equivalent Of: £0.5mil

Info: We started of with one goal keeper so we needed a new to enable us to trade him away. This replacement arrived in the form of Colombo. Napoli's third choice keeper and 37 years old meant he was cheap as chips and should hopefully provide a great force in goal.

Name: Mehment Batdal

Position: ST

Rating: 80

Value: n/a

Bought For Equivalent Of: 810k

Info: We were lacking in the striker department so Northampton went out and got themselves an all round goal scorer in the form of this extremely cheap 27 year old monster. Hopefully he can be one to bag the goals for this great squad.

Re: English Championship 28697 - Match Reports,Transfer news etc.

Friendly #4

Aldershot 0 Southampton 2

Saints completed their preseason with a fourth win - albeit against mainly lower division opponents

Lacazette likely to be main striker - not ideal as we missed out some targets through sneaky last -minute gazumping by rival managers

Looking for a mid- table finish , but a small squad and little money remaining means that injuries and suspensions will be a major factor in whether we can achieve this. Certainly can't see us beating any of the big boys whose reserve teams outrank our first XI.

I think we'll see how the first couple of rounds pan out before filling in the remaining gaps in our line up.

Away at Swansea to start - a stern test as they are a similar strength to us.

Re: English Championship 28697 - Match Reports,Transfer news etc.

New Swansea City manager Ben-SCFC has well and truly put his own stamp on the Swansea team by selling everybody except from Flores Chico and Perez Michu and replacing them with all spanish players.

The decision was made after previous success with signings from La Liga such as Chico and Michu, De Guzman has been a success for the main side in Wales last season but with him not fitting into the all Spanish system he was returned to La Liga from his loan spell immediately when Ben-SCFC took over, as was Belgium winger Roland Lamah.

After the second half of the week doing transfers the boss Ben-SCFC can confirm his strongest squad going into the season.

Lopez 89

Juanfran 90 - Chico 88 - Dominguez 89 - Aurtenetxe 88

Suarez 89 - Benat 89

Susaeta 89 - Michu 89 - Adrian 89

Soldado 91

Dalmau 78 Fontas 86 Nacho 80 Camacho 88 Toti 80 Annunziata 80 Joselu 85

Our squad value has gone from about mid table to fifth bottom in the league but that's mainly due to our depth not being very good at all, the first team has been improved by a couple of ratings, in time our depth will be better, I just hope

injury's and suspensions don't come regularly this season.

Swansea City will announce who will be their captain and vice captain for the season either late tonight or tomorrow, Flores Chico who has been captain in the final two friendlys is favorite for it, Perez Michu the other only player to stay is second favorite, Etxebarria Benat and Roberto Soldado are joint third favorite, only time will tell which two will be captain and vice captain. :)

10 to stay on at the DW

(young winger McManaman hoping to impress)

Newly installed Wigan Athletic manager Roman Carlos has confirmed that just 10 players from last season will stay on at the club as players continue to depart to make way for some fresh faces as part of the clubs strategy to return to top flight football in Division 1.

Amongst those fortunate to be given the chance to impress the new manager are goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi, Ivorian striker Arouna Kone and young star Callum McManaman.

With the likes of Mike Pollitt, Rodriguez Piscu and Ben Watson looking likely to leave the club within the next 24hrs, this only leaves the following 10;

Ali Al Habsi

Antolin Alcaraz

Gary Caldwell

James McArthur

Roger Espinoza

Shaun Maloney

Albert Crusat

Callum McManaman

Arouna Kone

Franco Di Santo

It is however yet to be seen which of the above will be the most likely to be given the chance week in week out as the new players keep rolling in at the DW.

Just like watching Brazil?

(samba fever has already gripped the town of Wigan)

An expected capacity crowd will fill the DW this evening as Wigan Atheltic kick start their journey back to Division 1 under newly installed manager Roman Carlos.

Carlos's men will take on Gozzy's Reading, who also failed to avoid the dreaded drop from top flight football last season.

The question on all Latics fans at the moment though has to be, will it just be like watching Brazil though?

During the last week, 3 Brazilian players have arrived at the club in the form of Larangeira Danilo (Udinese), Pereira Ilsinho (Shakhtar) and undoubtedly the star of Division 2 Neymar Jr (Barcelona).

With these 3 in the starting line up week in week out, it will surely not be long before the DW faithful will be singing "it's just like watching Brazil!".

Well the plan was to keep a bit of a thread going about Wigan Athletic in this EC' date=' however as you can see from above this numpty has began to graffiti my thread with what can only be described as childish nonsense.

Seems as though this is just another "one" to look out for now.

Saving some money for the second transfer wave in September.

Di Natale handed captains armband.

Hull City have today announced that ahead of their first game against Crystal Palace they will be captained by Antonio Di Natale for the season. Clarke has already placed immense faith in Di Natale by splashing the majority of his budget on the striker and this latest moves shows nothing has changed, Di Natale is still Hull's main man. The vice captain for the side Alvaro Arbeloa, another veteran of the game playing for clubs such as Liverpool and Real Madrid. Here is what Clarke had to say when he announced that Di Natale would lead the side -

Antonio possess's all the qualities needed to be captain and his behavior is exemplary, at 35 a lot of the younger lads look up to him already and for me it was a no-brainer.

Suarez Handed Captain's Armband!

In a press conference today afternoon, it was announced that 26 year old Uruguayan hitman Luis Suarez has been given the Captain's Armband and will captain Liverpool for the upcoming season. Suarez has a notorious reputation in the Premier League as he has already been punished by the FA for racially abusing Patrice Evra and biting Bransilav Ivanovic so is a very strange choice for Captain. This is what Liverpool manager Hancock said in reply to this statement:

"I don't know why people keep focusing on the past. Luis made some mistakes but the thing that matters most to me is he's learned from his mistakes and is fully committed to the club. Suarez is an amazing player, one of the best in the world and will lead from the front this season."

Can You Dig It, Captain?

Sakor handed armband as Chester FC's "crisis" deepens.

The saga at Chester FC continues. Following the recruitment of Vajebah Sakor as the Blues' first marquee player, Seth Lark suggested the 17-year-old could be captain one day. Well, just a week after that, the day has come. Sakor was named captain in a crowded press conference. As usual, the knives quickly came out, accusing the manager of trying to make a mockery of the fan-owned club. When questioned, Lark stood his ground.

Leadership is a trait that many Chester FC players share, but Sakor in particular stands out. He won't shout but he will certainly lead by example. A leader has to understand all-rounded play, and Sakor resides at the heart of such play. Age shouldn't be a hindrance, in fact I want to harness his leadership qualities early so that he will be a respected influence for years to come.

Sakor will become the youngest ever player to captain a competitive league match in forum football.

One person that made a mockery of himself was an unnamed HR manager for the Blues. After stumbling through the names of new recruits Paul Ehmann and Faysal Shayesteh, Seth was unimpressed and the employee was promptly fired. Now, as the club rushes to bring in another HR representative, Chester have drawn the short straw in their on-field activities. They will face Barnet and Aldershot (highest and second highest squad value respectively) in their first two fixtures. With both fixtures at home, Lark still wanted the fans to come out in full force.

Love me or hate me, I'll do my best in any job. I would welcome the fans that took their club back to forum football the most. But if you want to jeer, you're still cordially invited- just come down to watch these young lads play their hearts out. If you choose to complain to your Dr. Pepper bottle at home over interacting with nature here, then you'll be nothing but a hypocrite.

Re: English Championship 28697 - Match Reports,Transfer news etc.

An Overview of Grimsby

Grimsby have been very low key with their signings and have avoided over-sepnding in doing so. Veteran defender Simon Ford was originally expected to be given the captain's armband, however it has been confirmed that it will be occupied by a much unlikelier candidate...

Monteiro Kadu

The 18 year old goalkeeper from Angola put in a starstudded performance in Grimsby's final pre-season encounter and was voted man of the match. Consequently, Adriano has given him he prime position ahead of the new campaign believing that he can bring consistency and leadership to his young side.

Other signings for the Division 5 team are:

Berk Yildiz

Albert Rafetraniaina

Beykan Simsek

Oswal Alvarez

Dominik Masek

Jonathan Ferrante

It has also been confirmed that a yet to be named defender is set to become their 7th signing soon.

Adriano is new to highly competitive GWs such as this and found his way here through joining 7777 a few weeks ago and so it's hard to tell how he might get on.

They begin their campaign tonight against one of the league's favourites; Hyde.

Northampton Release Starting XI For Tonight

Average Rating: 80

We look forward to kicking off this season with a win against York City Tonight. We need to come together as a unit quickly and try and prevent the likes of Lenny Niangis or Zubas getting any feel of the ball. We only want Zubas to touch the ball whens hes picking it out of his net. First teamers such as Barg(77), Paredes(83), Regnier(75) and Sanchez(75) who are not preforming today due to pre-season tiredness issues will hopefully understand that their chance will come. Again we need to thank Villa and City for their loanees and hopefully we can mould them into superstars. Lets get this season rolling!

Jonas Olsson surprise captain choice

New WBA captain Olsson

Speaking this afternoon, it was announced that 30 year old hardman Jonas Olsson has been given the Captain's Armband and will captain West Brom for the upcoming season. Many thought that new boy Daniel Alves would be given the armband due to his experience at previous club Barcelona. However, manager Steve Clarke thought it best to give it to someone with experience in English football.
