Ross.DAFC85 1,931
Re: Gold Championship 9 - Match reports / Transfers thread Ajax 1-0 Westerlo A match in which Ajax tonight would've really taken the three points for granted, didn't really turn out that way. However, they got the three points through a goal for stand-in forward Alberto Luque on 20 minutes. --- Ajax goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg made four saves in the opening eight minutes, as Westerlo really went for that opening goal. However, Ajax then lived with the pressure Ruano Alexis went close, while Cassio Lincoln had a shot cleared off the line. Then on 20 minutes, with Luis Suarez still out, Alberto Luque stepped up to the task, and rose majestically, heading the inswinging corner into the Westerlo net. --- ((Forward for the night, Alberto Luque, showed that he could be depended on as his strike on 20 minutes, secured the win for his team tonight)) --- The second half again saw Westerlo create many chances in the early exchanges, before Ajax again took the game and controlled its proceedings. Both Fernando Belluschi and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar couldn't double Ajax's lead despite their opportunities. The visitors hit the post through Marc Wagemakers, before Huntelaar also hit the woodwork, when he saw his shot come crashing back of the Westerlo crossbar. --- ((Ajax keeper Maarten Stekelenburg got another clean sheet tonight, and put in another fantastic display, helping his side take the three home points)) --- ''Well, its another win. Another three points. And we remain unbeaten with three wins and a draw. The boys didn't play particularly well tonight, but we got the result and sometimes that's all that matters. Alberto put in a good performance and deserved his goal and man of the match performance. We are joint top, but lie second on goal difference. Cmon!'' ---

Sinny 4,005
Re: Gold Championship 9 - Match reports / Transfers thread Just a reminder of what can happen... Lazio defied the odds to beat Juventus 3-2 at the Olimpico and it's just a reminder of what can happen... anything. Captain Tommasso Rocchi was rested for the Cup Game against Cesena and was replaced by Brazilian Santos Alvaro. Yossi Benayoun also made his debut. The game started off brilliantly for Lazio when debutant Santos Alvaro netted from a volley on 36 minutes only to be cancelled out by Juventus striker Vincenzo Iaquinta on 39 minutes. Half Time it was 1-1, and Sergei Semak got his first goal for the Club after making his first full start after being limited to subsitutions for Lazio but he made his mark on 48th minute. All was Juventus after that when Cardoso Tiago levelled for Juve to make it 2-2 in the 80th minute and it looked like a draw. Then debutant Yossi Benayoun proved why he is one of the best by slotting home a one on one in the 83rd minute. Sinar said," We're on fantastic form at the moment. We were obviously the better side tonight. It just shows how anything can happen in football really. This win kinda goes out to Inter manager Sparky for falling to the hands of Juventus 5-3 and the Juventus Manager claimed he got lucky so now I just proved that he was cocky that day and a word to the smaller clubs reading this, anything can happen". The win moves Lazio up to 10th position and they are next facing a cup tie against Serie B high-flyers Cesena. Sparky and Ricardo Kaka

PREVIOUS RESULTS : Kilmarnock 0 - 0 Motherwell St. Mirren 1 - 2 Kilmarnock Dunfermline 2 - 1 Kilmarnock Kilmarnock 0 - 0 Gretna Inverness Caledonian Thistle 2 - 3 Kilmarnock As you can see this is very worrying, also Killie have yet to win or even score a goal at home so far. The club has also been unlucky injury wise with 3 first teamers being injured, LB Javier Sanguinetti, CM Hernan Bernardello and AM Nebosja Marinkovic. Next up is a cup game away at Hamilton Academical, where Killie will be playing their youngsters, Killie also have Hamilton next up in the league where they will be looking to pick up 3 important points to move themselves up to around 6th in the league, just 2 places behind 4th place, where Killie are aiming to finish come the end of the season.
