Re: Official World Cup 2014 Thread

Boom and Italy fall to the sucker counter punch. They can control possession but they do not look threatening from crosses wide into the box. Balotelli has done nothing and as an outlet nothing has gone into him then on the counter we do what Italy with all there possession can't.

Sterling has been great and Welbeck with his tracking and harrying has been a pain in the arse.

Candreva looks like a fantastic player.

he has looked good mainly because Rooney ain't been tracking his runs at all and therefore had so much space, England must address that in the second half everything is stemming from that side.

Decent half though two very contrasting styles.

Rooney hasn't been tracking back on Darmien's runs, not Candreva's.

Baines should be doing a better job of trapping Candreva, who at the moment seems to be Italy's main weapon.

Re: Official World Cup 2014 Thread

Rooney play out of position is not such a bad idea as he sets up goals also.Club and country.

Really don't mind seeing him on the left.

One cross doesn't make up for all the rest.

His off-positioning hasn't done England any favours when defending. He doesn't seem to have the pace to take on anyone one-on-one either. Wasted on the left side in my opinion.

I agree' date=' naive of the forumer in question to think one good cross makes up for his defensive frailties. Right on cue down the right hand side again. No protection given to Baines, well done shrek.[/font']
