Official FA Cup Thread

Re: FA Cup

Same as last time; who do we all want in the 5th round?

We have to win our replay' date=' but should we go through I would like either Arsenal or Man United/Cambridge. I'm easy though.[/quote']

:D

No bigger motivation to go and win in the replay now! I'd happily welcome either United to Deepdale.

Re: Official FA Cup Thread

West Ham could be thrown out of the FA Cup for playing Sakho in the win over Bristol City.

He was supposed to be in the ACN squad with Senegal but withdrew due to injury then played and scored in the FA Cup tie for West Ham and Fifa have opened disciplinary proceedings.

The rule states:

"The FIFA Players' Status Committee shall...declare any match(es) in which the player took part to have been lost by the club concerned,"

"Any points thus gained by the club in question shall be forfeited. Any match contested according to the cup system shall be regarded as having been won by the opposing team, irrespective of the score."

Wait so in this case, would Bristol City make it through, or would whoever they face get a bye?

Re: Official FA Cup Thread

Knowing them though' date=' a few back alley brown envelopes will be passed over and everything will be fine...[/quote']

Not far off. They get a small fine which was actually less than what the received from the FA Cup prize money for winning the 4th round tie.

Fifa have said:

“The question of further sanctions to be possibly imposed needs now to be dealt with by the entity responsible for the relevant competition, i.e the FA, in application of its regulations.”

So its time for the FA to step up or bottle it.

Re: Official FA Cup Thread

The dangerous duo of Ameobi and Chamakh will prove to much for Liverpool. Oh and when you add Dwight Gayle's certain goal it's an easy result to predict.

actually ameobi is injured and chamakh is doubtful after his injury against you lot so sanogo could get the nod but agree on gayle
