Bayern Munich – class, great players, amazing transfers, but also a very good youth academy. Julian Green joined “Der FCB” at the age of 14 in 2009 from a small club SG Hausham. He has been in unstoppable form this season in Regionalliga Bayern, scoring 15 times in 21 matches. This didn’t go unnoticed by manager Pep Guardiola and Julian made his professional debut on 27th November 2013, coming on in the 88th minute of a UEFA Champions League game against CSKA Moscow as a substitute for Mario Götze. Green was born in Tampa, Florida, US to an American father and German mother. His family moved to Germany when he was two years old. Eligible to play for either the United States or German national teams, he is sought after by both federations. His international career began with Germany U-16 and U-17. In September 2012, Green represented USA at the U-18 level in an international friendly with Netherlands, scoring in a 4–2 victory. He was also called up to the United States senior team by head coach Jürgen Klinsmann for friendlies in November 2013, but he declined the call due to being ineligible to play unless a one-time switch was filed, something he claimed he was not ready to do. Instead he decided to join the German U19 team for a friendly against France.
