Manager of The Month

Awards

Month Two - April 2014

Division Three

Winner :- Notts County manager Parvinder Singh Thaliwal

Total Votes 8

League Form for April:

WIN Tue 1 Apr Division 3 [A] 2 - 0 Colchester United

WIN Thu 3 Apr Division 3 [A] 1 - 0 Shrewsbury Town

WIN Sun 6 Apr Division 3 [H] 1 - 0 Sheffield United

WIN Thu 10 Apr Division 3 [A] 2 - 0 Wolverhampton Wanderers

WIN Sun 13 Apr Division 3 [H] 2 - 0 Peterborough United

DRAW Thu 17 Apr Division 3 [A] 1 - 1 Brentford

LOSS Sun 20 Apr Division 3 [H] 0 - 1 Crawley Town

WIN Thu 24 Apr Division 3 [A] 3 - 0 Bristol City

WIN Sun 27 Apr Division 3 [H] 4 - 0 Port Vale

What Notts County’s form in April doesn’t show is the three consecutive defeats suffered at the end of March, so to come in to April “struggling” and turn that into 5 straight wins without conceding a goal is one heck of a turn around. With just one loss throughout April this was the definition of U Turn.

Parvinder is able to squeeze results, in games where things are tight your money should be on Notts County to get something from the game and this is in no small part due to County’s squad which, of 18 first team players contains 13 that can play a defensive role be that at the back, or as DM. This makes Notts County hard to beat first and foremost with the traditional flat back four and a nucleus of 3 covering the central ground. Parvider then looks for wingers to do the damage and as such the 4-3-3 Wingers formation he has adopted all season is tailor made for this approach – and its paying dividends right now.

Whilst County haven’t brought any players in this month, like many of us, the work conducted in March has already rewarded the team. Some of the risers in April could be considered amongst the best transfer business in the division so far in fact –

Abdoulaye DOUCOURÉ +4 (from an £810k investment to £4.1m value!)

Björn ENGELS +4

Mitchell WEISER +3

Siebe SCHRIJVERS +3

Divock ORIGI + 2

Notts County’s transfers should be looked upon and admired in my opinion

Here’s what one of Luis’s managerial colleagues in 30K had to say:-

"Between the 3 teams that had more points in the league, (Notts County) is the one that’s still in the cup."

As with all of the divisions the award is based on league games only, but this comment, much like in the 4th division the above is a fair summary that’s echoed by many.

Well done Parvinder Singh Thaliwal on your deserved award of the Manager of the Month!

3rd Division Runner Up this Month:-

Oldham Manager EdMoses who gained 4 votes.

Manager of The Month

Awards

Month Two - April 2014

Division Two

Winner :- Queens Park Rangers manager aris ballas

Total Votes 12

League Form for April:

WIN Tue 1 Apr Division 2 [H] 3 - 2 Yeovil Town

DRAW Thu 3 Apr Division 2 [A] 2 - 2 Watford

DRAW Sun 6 Apr Division 2 [A] 1 - 1 Reading

WIN Thu 10 Apr Division 2 [H] 1 - 0 Brighton and Hove Albion

WIN Sun 13 Apr Division 2 [A] 3 - 1 Millwall

WIN Thu 17 Apr Division 2 [H] 2 - 1 Burnley

WIN Sun 20 Apr Division 2 [A] 3 - 1 Blackburn Rovers

WIN Thu 24 Apr Division 2 [H] 3 - 1 Barnsley

WIN Sun 27 Apr Division 2 [A] 1 - 0 Doncaster Rovers

A stunning run of form in April, QPR are in a real purple patch. Ignoring the fact that these 9 league games were perforated by an additional 8 games in other competitions (although his assistanct takes care of the SMFA games due to aris’s lack of a shiny gold membership) Aris form is so good he also took on a friendly at the end of April!

But that league performance certainly is impressive and whilst the defence does leak a goal a game on average does it really matter when you can be confident of nabbing an average of more than two at the other end?

QPR have favoured the formation of choice for many these last 18 months in the 4231, choosing only to change when not assured of the 3 pts, then it’s a turn up to a 3-5-2, the previous “formation du jour” for managers. There is no doubting how effective this has been and as much as tinkering with formations and tactical nuances can be a benefit, there is a lot to be said for finding a formation, nailing the squad to it and making it work and this is something that QPR are superb at doing.

Aris’s has been fairly quiet this month on the transfer front, as to be expected given its month two but did bring in 25 year old Dimitris SIOVAS from Olympiacos for £3.6m. Although 6 of the QPR’s first team are on loan, the transfers that Aris’ has bought in to date ensure that the loss of these lads at seasons end will be minimised.

Here’s what some of Aris’s managerial colleagues in 30K had to say:-

"Unbeaten in the league, wins in both cup and shield and also 2 draws and a win in the SMFA Shield."

"Better results in the Division this month and still in both cups"

Well done aris ballas on your deserved award of the Manager of the Month!

2nd Division Runner Up this Month:-

Nottingham Forest manager Petros Closer who gained 7 votes.

Manager of The Month

Awards

Month Two - April 2014

Division One

Winner :- Liverpool manager Ray Pauley

Total Votes 8

League Form for April:

WIN Thu 3 Apr Division 1 [A] 1 - 0 Manchester United

DRAW Sun 6 Apr Division 1 [H] 1 - 1 Cardiff City

DRAW Thu 10 Apr Division 1 [A] 1 - 1 Stoke City

WIN Sun 13 Apr Division 1 [H] 2 - 0 West Ham United

WIN Thu 17 Apr Division 1 [A] 3 - 0 Aston Villa

WIN Sun 20 Apr Division 1 [H] 5 - 1 Hull City

WIN Thu 24 Apr Division 1 [A] 2 - 0 Tottenham Hotspur

Undefeated in the top flight, the league performance of Liverpool has really echo that of the team in RL. The subltely of a 1-0 victory of United is never lost in any gameworld but it’s the collective effort over the whole month, conceding just 3 goals that really catches the eye. With Ray’s boys not struggling to find the net themselves, 15 goals that really starts to make this Liverpool team start to look impressive. That type of form suggests that Liverpool are genuine title contenders, even this early in the season.

Ray sticks to what he wants on the pitch setting up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and this tends to allow him control of the game. But he’s another manager who targets the points and will gamble if needed, switching to a 4-3-1 and playing Sturridge, Suarez and Gotze up top to really push on for all three points – and its working.

Whilst pretty much everyone chased new signings in March, ray took his time and signed just 3 players, two of which have helped provide the spine to his current form – Mario Gotze and David Alaba both from Bayern.

Here’s what one of Ray’s managerial colleagues in 30K had to say:-

"After losing 2 of the 3 league games in March, they did not lose 1 league game in April"

"The team with better results"

“Liverpool look hard to beat first and foremost, theyre off to a great start and need to be caught!”

Well done Ray Pauley on your deserved award of the Manager of the Month!

1st Division Runner Up this Month:-

Manager of The Month

Awards

Month Two - April 2014

Overall Manager of the Month, across all divisions.

Normally this would normally go down to a vote off. However this month is an exception.

Off all nominations, there was one manager who continually stood out. Some managers chose to vote just for him and him alone. Others nominated him as a divisional winner and made special mention that he was the overall best manager this month. Others nominated him and not his nearest rival from another division. This means that although two overall managers were close on paper, those that had nominated both had already declared that one would win over another.

The sum of the whole is that there is no need for a vote off, as there is a clear winner already.

Therefore I am please to announce the winner of the big award is………….

Barnet's Monkeyshuffl

Really well done mate, fantastic work at Barnet. Commiserations to QPR’s Aris Balas but it really was a case of having a clear winner and a clear runner up.

Back to the day job now.....

Ed Moses steered Oldham Athletic to victory against Crawley Town.

Oldham Athletic outclassed Crawley Town and beat them 3 - 1 in their Division 3 fixture.

Silva scored a brace and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.

Bedia was also on the scoresheet for his side.

bingo mack bango, 3 points!

Still sitting pretty at the top of divvo 3 and the ol' goal diff now stands at +29thanks to 42 goals in 14 matches and only 13 conceeded. Lurvly.

Absurd then that attendances are down - playing some crackin' stuff here at Boundary Park and yet averaging only 6,966 - the flipp'n place holds 10,638 for crying outr loud! Cripes, wish I was Wolves for a day - raz is averging 29,145 a home game!

AlfretonTownchanging strategy

After struggling though back to back defeats, Alfreton manager Justin is reluctant to follow the same strategy of 3 at back formation and is in transfer market again to search for wingers and full backs. Although Alfreton Town managed to score big when they won the games( that too just 2) but they've conceded far too many. Alfreton have also cancelled the loan deal for Zivkovic from Fulham and is searching for a permanent goalkeeper. They've also released Greg Young, Bradley Wood, Josh Law, Michael Wylde & Goalkeeper Paddy Gamble's contract is also expected to be terminated shortly.

Later on after the shocking release of 2 players Justin was gave an unreleased interview in which he said that Alfreton is working on saving money for big signing in the seasonal breaks and so has to get rid of deadwoods & underperformers. More transfers in the coming days is expected at Alfreton. The manager also said that they have no intentions of fighting for promotion instead they are consider to build a strong team in the future.

Manager of The Month

Awards

Month Two - April 2014

Division Four

Winner :- Shorpe manager Luis Veigas

Total Votes 7

League Form for April:

DRAW Tue 1 Apr Division 4 [H] 4 - 4 Wycombe Wanderers

WIN Thu 3 Apr Division 4 [H] 2 - 1 Northampton Town

LOSS Sun 6 Apr Division 4 [A] 0 - 2 Hartlepool United

DRAW Thu 10 Apr Division 4 [H] 1 - 1 Oxford United

LOSS Sun 13 Apr Division 4 [A] 2 - 4 York City

WIN Thu 17 Apr Division 4 [H] 3 - 1 Torquay United

DRAW Sun 20 Apr Division 4 [A] 2 - 2 Newport County

WIN Thu 24 Apr Division 4 [H] 2 - 0 Cheltenham Town

WIN Sun 27 Apr Division 4 [A] 4 - 2 Chesterfield

Although at first glance Shorpes form could be seen as patchy – 4 wins' date=' 2 draws, 2 losses – it should be appreciated that things in division 4 are incredibly tight, this division is not for the feint hearted. This is mirrored by the fact the division had 6 different clubs nominated for this months MoM. Need more convincing? Just 8 points separate Portsmouth in first and Rochdale in 15!

Shorpe are certainly entertainers, the league games they were involved in April each averaged over 4 goals! No boring nil nil’s round here!

Luis is a brave manager for sure. Although he likes to generally start with a traditional 4-4-2 formation, he has ambitious plans if things don’t go his way, he proactively looks for the win and will happily switch to 4 up front (yep 4!) to go looking for the 3 points. Its not all footballing boom or bust, should you find yourself behind to Shorpe with 15 mins to go, expect there to be 9 behind the ball, 4 at the back and five defensively across the middle. Recently though Luis has again started to tweak his side and we could start to see a more consolidated approach to the team, although the choice of 3-4-1-2 more recently isnt exactly Chelsea Bus Parking just yet. I for one hope they continue to go for the throat when behind, its an approach that certainly aint boring and has returned well for Luis in April.

There is some real thought going into squad development, although a number of players were drawn to the club in March, there was still work to complete in April with the additions of:-

Yanni REGÄSEL

Andy COLLIER

Rakesh PRADHAN

Francesco MARGIOTTA

Nikos VERGOS

But it was the acquisition of Pavel IGNATOVICH for £1.8m that was to be his biggest buy in April, a clever bit of business that see’s the striker already worth twice as much as Shorpe paid. Personnally I am big fan of Scunny’s transfers this season and its worth a look if your so inclined.

Here’s what one of Luis’s managerial colleagues in 30K had to say:-

"Very hard to pick a manager from division 4 with 3 teams with the same form but went with Shorpe due to 2 win in the shield."

Although the award is based on league games only, the above is a fair summary that’s echoed by many.

[b']Well done Luis Veigas on your deserved award of the Manager of the Month![/b]

4th Division Runner Up this Month:-

Southend Manager Walter White who gained 4 votes.

Had to make a rare appearance on forum just to thank who ever has voted for me for the manager of the month of my division.

Te Vrede Scores In Carlisle United Debut

Justice took charge of his first Carlisle United match on Thursday evening against Brentford,as the game ended 3-3 in a six goal thriller in Justice's first game. The Young manager knew it would be a task to take on a strong looking Brentford side. Justice put out the strongest side available to him against what looked a much stronger side in Brentford. However Justice loves the 'Underdog' tag given to Carlisle this season to even push into the top half of the table. And it was a brilliant start from the Cumbrian side as Te Vrede and Seto putting Carlisle 2-0 up after only 32 minutes! Te Vrede doing what Justice brought him to the club to do, Score Goals. However it was short lived as Ibarbo scored before Waris equalised for the Bees, before loanee brought in by Justice Jordon Ibe Slotted home early in the second half, but was short lived when Carlos Eduardo got the 6th goal of the game as it was to end 3-3 between the two contrasting sides in sights f where they wish to be come the end of the season. We caught up with Justice after the game, " I am delighted with how my first game went at Carlisle we earned a point, maybe we could have got all 3 points and we will work on that more in our game at Crawley on Sunday and push on and try our best to next time obtain 3 points. But to the game in question to get a point against a side as strong as that at Brentford is a great coy going on from here on out and I'm pleased with how the players I've brought in performed today. We hope to maintain a good run in now and push for a good season from here on out."

Transfer Latest: More Players Brought In By Justice

Umut Gundogan amongst those who have joined Carlisle recently

Umut Gundogan (Midfielder) (80)

Vincent Laurini (Defender) (79)

Naser Aliji (Defender) (77)

Joachim Eickmayer (Midfielder) (79)

Florain Jozefoon (Midfielder) (84)

Above is a list of quality players who over the last couple of days that have joined Carlisle United as they hope to push for a decent finish. Justice was delighted with the players he was able to bring in to help improve his side further each time. Justice has been in charge for just over a week and has already made mass amounts of changes as he hopes to mould a side worthy of progressing over the seasons.

It's now 6 league game without a win for Leeds after drawing 0-0 against Huddersfield on Thursday.

We have managed to sign Frederico Bravo from Boca Juniors. Was looking to send him out on loan but our chairman will not allowed it.

Some players he did let us put on the loan list are

Dylan Gissi 75 D(RC) DM®

Leandro Olivares 75 D©

Alexandru Tudorie 77 F©

Just make a bid if your interested in any of them.

Hi everyone, I'm new on the forum but have been playing this game for years. Like the look of this gameworld, with so many managers, and would like to get involved at some point because it looks like it could be great fun. So if someone leaves and a club becomes available will it be posted on here? Looking forward to potentially getting involved! Thanks guys. :)
