Its time for the kids in the acadamies to shine once again as EC 7777 hosts its third youth competition. Eight teams have entered the competition, less than last year but this will hopefully avoid alot of forfeiting like previous seasons. Please send your fixtures asap (Home team to sends friendly request to away team, each team will send 4 friendly requests), ill give reminders if people forgot and reminders to set your teams the day before. Really excitied for a third installment and hope the guys competing enjoy it too! :D

The Rules

Each team is allowed to field two senior players (Over 21). However this time the senior players must be rated 89 or below as last seaon the 92+ players were winning games on there own. You can not field two seniors and sub one off for another senior (Two maximum playing during the game!). For example, Blackpool would use Rondon (89) and Van Rhijn (87) as seniors, but you can use any two of your choice and don't have to be the same two seniors every game. The rest of your team must be made up of players aged 21 or below (Can be any rating). You subs bench doesnt have to be filled with u-21s as some clubs won't have enough, but any subsitutes coming on need to be aged 21 or under.

If a player is 21 before the tournament begins he will be still be considered a youth player when turning 22.

If a team fields more than two senior players, they will automatically lose 3-0. Should both teams field more than three then again both teams will get a 3-0 loss.

Looking forward to this kicking off, and although 8 is less than before it's probably the best number to work with in this league format.

I've sent my requests out, although I only have 2. I don't think it makes a big difference if you're at home or not but if there's a possibility of swapping the fixture vs Rotherham (who play 4 home games) to Brunton Park it would be appreciated.

Re: English Championship 7777 FA Youth Cup

Adriano Borges steered Carlisle United to victory against Crewe Alexandra.

Carlisle United beat Crewe Alexandra 2 - 1 in their Friendly fixture.

Saviola and Cardoso were amongst the goalscorers.

A good win in the first game of the Youth Cup even though our opposition fielded an illegal team (3x 22+ year olds and 2x 90+ rated). It's a shame because the rest of Crewe's squad were legal so it was obviously an honest mistake but at least they didn't drop any points for it.

EC 7777 FA Youth Cup

fa_youth_cup.jpg

Tonight saw the opening fixtures of the 7777 FA Youth Cup. This is the third time acadamies have battled it out to see who is the best! Manchester United were the first winners, Blackpool being the reigning champions from last season. Lets check the scores from tonights games.

Sunday 30th November 2014

Blackpool 1-0 West Ham

Rotherham 6-3 Coventry

Crewe 1-2 Carlisle (Carlisle win 3-0 due to Crewe fielding three seniors)

Sheffield United 1-1 Bristol City (Sheffield United win 3-0 due to Bristol City fielding seven seniors)

Unfortunately two teams broke rules (Crewe seem to have used last seasons format, whilst Bristol just didnt set the team...) which is kinda annoying.

Table

Rotherham - 3 Points - GF 6 - GA 3 - GD +3

Carlisle - 3 Points - GF 3 - GA 0 - GD +3

Sheffield United - 3 Points - GF 3 - GA 0 - GD +3

Blackpool - 3 Points - GF 1 - GA 0 - GD +1

West Ham - 0 Points - GF 0 - GA 1 - GD -1

Coventry - 0 Points - GF 3 - GA 6 - GD -3

Bristol City - 0 Points - GF 0 - GA 3 - GD -3

Crewe - 0 Points - GF 0 - GA 3 - GD -3

Golden Boot

Here are the players who have scored in the competition so far, where teams field more than three players over 21, the goal scorers for the illegal team isn't counted on this list.

Luciano Vietto (Coventry) - 3

Vinicius Araujo (Rotherham) - 3

Mirnes Pepic (Rotherham) - 2

Javier Saviola (Carlisle) - 1

Fabio Cardoso (Carlisle) - 1

Leanardo Villalba (Rotherham) - 1

Carlisle have been removed due to AB moving to Everton. There is no guarantee a new manager would want to continue in this competition, so I have decided to let Everton replace them. Please cancel your fixtures witth Carlisle and either send Everton a request on the same day or let AB send you one. Sorry to mess about but saves everyone getting a 3-0 win. Fixtures in red have been organised, fixtures in black still need to be sent or accepted.

EC 7777 FA Youth Cup

fa_youth_cup.jpg

Here are the reslts from tonights FA Youth Cup. Only one rule break tonight (Coventry fielded three seniors instead of two) but with them losing 5-1 I let it go as a 3-0 would be worse for Sheffield United.

Hi Marc, I'm not sure how much leeway there is on the rules but Bernat, who played for West Ham, is 90 rated and over 21. It seems a bit harsh as it's just one player and they completely dominated my young lads, so I'm not fussed if the result remains, but I feel I should point it out anyway - just to make sure the West Ham boss doesn't accidentally do it again.

oops. I completely missed that. For some reason i thought it was the Bernat from Bayern (88/21). Cheers for pointing it out AB, the table has been altered and will PM West Ham to let them know :)

Andy Polo wins the Golden Boot with an impressive eight goals in seven games. He is also the player of the tournament and looks to have a great future ahead of him.

So Sheffield United win the third FA Youth Cup after on goal difference after beating last seasons winners Blackpool. The competition had a shakey start with rule breaks in the opening rounds but we managed to get the final three rounds with none which is great and definately better involvement than the previous competitions.

Hope you guys have enjoyed something a bit different to other setups, and will likely do another next season (Hopefully even more clubs!) if theres still interest :) Thanks again to those involved!

Paul Pogba played against me? Should I not have been given a 3-0 win?
