A more difficult win against another 'bot' team. No chance of making the top 10 now' date=' so settling for mid table mediocrity and planning for next season. :o[/quote']

Have faith, mate!

I experienced mid-table mediocrity last season and now I'm very very close to being promoted. :)

The Story so far After the relative success of the cult classic 'Rags To Riches - The Rise to Prominence' I thought a sequel was in order despite the original still not having a definitive winner j

Re: From Rags To Riches II - The World Club Version. I tried reading your club's name out loud and it turns out that it's pretty easy to say Samjvkgvkeilifvbikgvejkevfhklese.

You're welcome' date=' you're certainly capable of fighting for promotion next season.[/quote']

It's quite hard as my usual growth strategy extends to the whole squad rather than just a starting 11. And being dependent on risers to develop it is a slow strategy.

Managers who are doing well don't have any problems in signing players aged 30+ but I am a bit naïf in thinking my risers will get generous rating increases quite often - which obviously rarely happens.

That's why I tend to do well in the first half of the (first) season but usually end up being gobbled up at the later stages.

Most teams at the top of the division have an average rating at least 5 points higher then my team. That is a lot of quality difference right there. My most cunning plans are blown to smithereens every time I face such strong opposition.

That leaves me with only one choice - keep doing what I'm doing and play the long game. At some point I will be at least as strong as everyone else. :o

Re: From Rags To Riches II - The World Club Version.

A loss vs the 3rd placed team, meh!

Currently I'm more worried about rebuilding my squad.

CD FAS have got their moneymaker on Griezmann.

A +1 is guaranteed, but I have some hope he'll reach 93 in the next review.

He has been a beast for the last years and even in this one, his 1st for Atleti.

His numbers are just sick and the guy ain't even a striker.

Shame about his haircut tho, he looks like a gay horse.

No disrespect to homossexuals or horses ofc. :D

Re: From Rags To Riches II - The World Club Version.

Champions !!! :D. 27 games unbeaten now. We were 13th after 10 games and winning the title is amazing. Division 4 here we come. Will shift a few players but most will stick till we start losing in Division 4.

Re: From Rags To Riches II - The World Club Version.

United Africa Tigers beat CD FAS 3 - 2 in their Division 5 fixture.

De Marcos scored a goal and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.

Fernando and Coquelin were also amongst the goalscorers.

Important win for us.. We just need a draw in our final game to gain promotion.

So here we are ready to start another long season. Been looking at the match previews and despite our team upgrade (approx. + 2 or 3 average team rating points) the future looks somewhat bleak in terms of aspiring to get a foot on those fabled Playoff slots.

Mid-Table mediocrity here we come once more...

:(

Bad start to a another tough campaign. Rapid are probably one of the most accessible teams ratings-wise (comparing to us obviously) and we still manage to lose despite more shots on target.

If this game is anything to go by I worry for the future indeed! :(
