Re: Europes sleeping Giants

Daley Blind rejoins Ajax for £7.8 million - very happy with this signing as he will anchor our midfield.

Also joining will be Marcus Rojo, who will become our defensive leader from either centre back or at left back.

Two other notable signings are talented youngsters Marc-Oliver Kempf and Pierre Hojbjerg from the Bundesliga.

Still have 10 mil in the transfer kitty, so may wait till im able to sell some players, before bringing in anymore new recruits.

Olympique de Marseille

New OM manager Mark M. appointed French goalkeeper

Steve Mandanda as captain for the coming seasons.

The France international told the club's official web site:

"Being appointed captain is an honour.

This shows the manager's trust towards me.

I will do everything to fulfil these duties.

Wearing the captain's armband is an honour for me."

Re: Europes sleeping Giants

Everton lost 5 - 2 to Southampton in a thrilling Division 1 encounter.

Eto'o and Lukaku were amongst the goalscorers.

Well, this was certainly not the start I was hoping for.

I can't believe this is what I've been waiting for, for over a week!

Ah well, good job Ash..

Re: Europes sleeping Giants

Matthew Webb (matt72 Forums) steered Atlético Madrid to victory against Tottenham Hotspur.

Atlético Madrid outclassed Tottenham Hotspur and beat them 4 - 1 in their Division 2 fixture.

Griezmann scored a brace and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.

Koke and Mandžukić were also amongst the goalscorers.

Well Mr Hudson, your Spurs took one hell of a beating. Great start for Atlético, but then it was to be expected if our very good pre season was anything to go by.

Well done Matt....I did beat you in the last pre-season friendly but your change in tactics was a masterstroke well played mate and lots for Spurs to ponder....

Re: Europes sleeping Giants

A 1-0 loss at home in the opener for Ajax to Valencia (well done Sean). Against a stronger opponent, we put up a brave and spirited display (we might have sneaked a draw), albeit Valencia's GK was man of the match.

Got a few bids in on listed players, so hopefully a nice reshuffle of players might help us in a rebuild :D.
