TomOwen 8,151
Re: Premier League World. GENOA CFC 2-1 CHELSEA After a 1-1 draw against Elche CF to start the season, Pham and his boys came back to Luigi Ferraris as they hosted Chelsea in front of 25,803 fans hoping to secure their first win of the season. However, things did not start out great for Genoa as Chelsea opened the scoring in the fourth minute after an Angel di Maria corner was headed in by David Silva. As the end of the first half neared, Pham and his side were struggling to find an equalizer, Cesc Fabregas provided a moment of inspiration as he drove through the Chelsea defense before slotting a pass over to Steven Naismith who finished with power and precision past Brad Guzan. The start of the second half started in similar fashion, but Genoa were the ones to score this time around, as Cesc Fabregas was the provider once again, beautifully curling a free-kick into the box which Darren Fletcher met with a powerful header on the near post to claim a 2-1 victory for the hosts. This victory pushes Genoa to third on the table and behind only Palermo and Metalist. Genoa will host Olympique Lyonnais this wekeend, who have lost both their games so far this season, but will still prove to be a tough opponent with star players such as David de Gea, Vincent Kompany, and Yaya Toure. Darren Fletcher headed in the winning goal for Genoa

Sampdoria beat Olympique Lyonnais 3 - 0 in their Division 2 fixture. Tadic scored a goal and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance. Lukaku and Fer were also amongst the goalscorers. Cam Lucas 10,125
Re: Cam's Premier League World Lens Chalk Up First Win. RC Lens enjoyed a maiden win of the season over the other 'Cameron' - Kamren. Lens Dominated much of the play, but really looked out of ideas going forward and failed to create many chances, and ultimately Besiktas were the moree attacking team in terms of shots on goal. The advantage in Possesion allowed Lens to make better wuality chances though. An early lead was taken when Coutinho bashed one in but the leade was reeled back quickly by a cracking finish from Schlupp. Lens continued to prod but ultimately found the decisive goal through the versatile Left-Hand-Man Leighton Baines. Not a convincing win and Lens will need to improve fast to challenge for first place.
LauraAFCA 3,707
Re: Cam's Premier League World Chievo Verona slumped to a 1 - 0 defeat to FC Nantes in their Division 1 fixture. Unable to bag our second win, mostly due to great goalkeeping on the other side. Joe Hart managed to save all of our 12 shots on target, and Nantes scored the winning goal out of one of their 8 shots on target.. Better luck next time!

TomOwen 8,151
Re: Premier League World. GENOA CFC 4-0 OLYMPIQUE LYONNAIS After a confident 2-1 victory over Chelsea, Genoa hosted bottom-of-the table Olympique Lyonnais. It was predicted to be a tightly contested game with Olympiqe Lyonnais' many stars such as Vincent Kompany and Yaya Toure. Genoa started confidently with an early goal as Steven Naismith received Marco van Ginkel's through ball and slotted a low shot past David de Gea. Things went from bad to worse for the French side in the 22nd minute when James Milner was sent off for his second yellow card after a dangerous tackle on Cesc Fabregas. Steven Naismith turned from scorer to provider in the 34th minute as Genoa capitalized on their man advantage when Darren Fletcher got his second goal of the season. In the 59th minute, Genoa CFC scored their third after a penalty when Victor Moses was fouled by Victor Wanyama in the box and Cesc Fabregas easily fooled the goalkeeper with a fantastic penalty. Five minutes later, Steven Naismith got his fourth goal so far this season with another fantastic goal after some great work with Marco van Ginkel. The victory over Olympique Lyonnais leaves Genoa third on the table, with seven points after 3 games. Genoa travels to rivals Sampdoria in the first of two games at Luigi Ferraris. Pham will have to be wary of some of the threats in their team such as Alexis Sanchez and Andre Schurrle. Cesc Fabregas slotted the penalty home
