Elohim 16,771
Re: Cam's Premier League World RCD Espanyol have now won 4 games in a row after beating Tottenham Hotspur setting a new club record. After their result against Tottenham Hotspur, RCD Espanyol are now unbeaten in 5 games setting a new club record for most games unbeaten in a row. RCD Espanyol outclassed Tottenham Hotspur and beat them 1 - 0 in their Division 1 fixture. Mikel scored the winner for RCD Espanyol and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance. TomOwen 8,151
Re: Premier League World. METALIST 6-5 GENOA In perhaps the most ridiculous match in recent history, Genoa slumped to a 6-5 defeat at the hands of Metalist. Although the offensive game was on point, Genoa's defensive frailties were fully exploited in the match. Andy Carroll got Metalist off to a good start in the 9th minute when he headed home a Siem de Jong free-kick. Siem de Jong himself was rewarded in the 22nd minute when he beated Thibaut Courtois with an ambitious shot. However, Genoa soon came back from this two goal deficit with a free-kick from maestro Cesc Fabregas and a header by Mario Pasalic. However, Siem de Jong put Metalist back in front 3-2 in the 40th minute with a free-kick. The second-half was once again full of attacking intent, and Genoa actually took a lead, as they scored a quick double salvo in the 61st and 62nd minute through Victor Moses and Mario Pasalic, both via great assists by Czech midfielder Tomas Rosicky. Andy Carroll was quick to equalize in the 68th minute with a powerful header. The striker then completed his hat-trick in the 84th minute with another header before Leon Osman scored one goal for each side in consecutive minutes to complete the 6-5 score. Andy Carroll scored a hat-trick of headers GENOA 1-0 TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR Tom Pham's side bounced back after their disappointing 6-5 defeat at Metalist by edging out Division 1 team Tottenham Hotspur in a closely contested match, which saw the only goal scored by Tomas Rosicky in the 22nd minute. However, things did not go all perfectly to plan, as defender Jon Flanagan was sent off after a nasty challenge on Benjamin Stambouli Tomas Rosicky scored the only goal GENOA 2-0 ELCHE CF After taking his time to find the net this season, Italian striker Graziano Pelle has added to his account as Genoa cruised to a league victory against Elche CF. With a goal each side of half-time, Graziano Pelle added his tally to 3 goals so far this season, with a flick from Cesc Fabregas's ball in the first half and great through ball by Marco van Ginkel in the second half Graziano Pelle scored a brace CHELSEA 1-1 GENOA Genoa could not capitalize on their good momentum to complete the double over Chelsea this season as they were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge after winning 2-1 at home earlier in the season. An early header from Chris Herd put the hosts in front, before Victor Moses came back to haunt his own team to beat Brad Guzan with a header after a cross from Graziano Pelle Victor Moses scored the equalizer JUVENTUS 1-0 GENOA After a Cindrella-esque run in the cup to reach the final, Genoa's dreams of lifting the cup were dashed after a poor performance against Division 2 strugglers Juventus. Despite appearing to dominate the game from start to finish, Genoa's lack of clinical finishing at the Olimpiysky NSC. The only goal of the game came to French striker Loic Remy as he perfectly placed a free-kick past Hugo Lloris in the 49th minute after he was fouled by Jose Enrique. Loic Remy scored the only goal in the final OLYMPIQUE LYONNAIS 0-0 GENOA The team looked to bounce back from a disappointing cup final with a win at Gerland. Olympique Lyonnais had previously lost 4-0 when they visited Genoa, but the visitors could once again not complete the double when they were held 0-0 at Lyon. Thibaut Courtois put in a man-of-the-match performance, making 8 saves to earn the team one point. This draw places Genoa at third on the table, three points ahead of Sampdoria, who also have a seven goal deficit in the goal difference rankings. Genoa will host Sampdoria as their fierce rivalry is renewed this Sunday. Thibaut Courtois put in a man of the match performance OTHER NEWS In other news, Tom Pham has completed the signing of Jon Flanagan from Liverpool for a fee of 4.8m. The young defender is versatile and easily fits into Pham's plan, able to slot into either right back or left back roles. He has made three starts so far since joining the club, receiving one yellow card and one red card so far. New signing Jon Flanagan Tom Pham has also decided to take charge at Brazil after their FA offered Pham a job. Pham said he couldn't turn down the job as he tries to rebuild the team back to their World Cup winning glories. In his two games as the Brazil boss, he has won all three points, with a 1-0 victory against Denmark with Givanildo Hulk scoring the only goal and a 4-1 thumping of the United States with Givanildo Hulk once again in a starring role, bagging two goals, and Scherer Maxwell and Moura Lucas each adding a goal. Givanildo Hulk has scored 3 goals in 2 games with Pham in charge
