Re: Luck of the Irish

Just gonna throw some info on derbies/rivalries!

Dublin Clubs

Shamrock Rovers

St.Pats Ath

UCD

Bohemians

Shelbourne

Although Shelbourne are not in this game...

Biggest derby is Shamrock Rovers v Bohemians, they hate each other,St.Pats v Shamrock Rovers is big too.

Drogheda Utd and Dundalk are also major rivals, they are in the same county.

Sligo Rovers and Derry City also have a rivalry

Cork City v Limerick City is a munster derby.

The biggest club in Ireland is Shamrock Rovers.

The smallest club is UCD(at least in the top flight)

Ya they are the Man U of Irish soccer ;)

UCD are a college, but they produce alot of good young players, they do very well to stay in the top flight on a regular basis, however they end up selling their best players very quickly, and usually to the likes of Shamrock Rovers and St.Pats.

Current league champions are Dundalk and FAI Cup winners are St.Pats.Shamrock Rovers finished 4th last season but were never in the title race, they underachieved to be honest and scaked their manager. They have the most money and the best squad of players.

So the pressure is on Noisy! :D

Re: Luck of the Irish

Some nice talented stars have arrived at Shamrock for acceptable fees too.

The only one I feel I slightly overpaid on was Stokes but being Irish he is a vital player for the team.

Kramaric' date='Mason,Wendell,Gestede are among the names coming in.

Old timer Shay Given will keep sticks in goal too.[/quote']

You beat me for Wendell! I wasn't willing to pay as much as you did,so thats fair enough!

The following are on their way to St.Patricks Ath...

Joey O'Brien - My Irish first teamer

Lee Desmond - Real Life St.Pats player, and filling up the Irish contingent

Sean Hoare - Same story as Desmond

Karim Rekik

Sergi Samper

Ryder Matos

Hector Bellerin

Vincius Araujo

Nat Chalobah

Jadson

Caio

Re: Luck of the Irish

First round of transfers produces a Dundalk line-up looking like:

Henderson (83)

Yadlin (84) - Hoedt (80) - Muniesa (84) - Kim (83)

Foket (82) - Tielemens (85) - Bailly (78) - Bernard (80) - El Ghazi (80)

Uth (83)

Chuffed to bits with Tielemens at CV - easily my star buy.

Got some really sneaky players too, Bailly & Kabasele being the main ones (even though Kabasele is down as a FC when he is actually a DC).

Also very happy with Stephen Henderson, Irish Charlton no.1 keeper so will play every game for me without using up an outfield position :).

Hopefully some more on the way so the line-up could change.

Bringing Serie A to Ireland!

A few days into the job at Belfast side Linfield and already Baldo looks close to completing his squad. The Anglo-Italian has stuck to what he knows best and brought in players mostly from England and Italy. Brozovic and Rugani are the stand out names, with international experience already, but the real experience should come from the 31 year old Braafheid, who cost just 2.3 mil. Oliver Kirch is another older player, in an otherwise young squad, but his versatility could be even more useful than his vast experience.

Empoli have been raided of their top talents. The club have seen Rugani, Verdi and Valdifiori leave. And considering he's already 28 and only making his debut in Italy's top flight this year, Valdifiori's signing must be seen as the shock of the 3. However, statistics do prove he's among the top 3 midfielders in Italy. Can he carry that form over into this new challenge though?
