We're about 2 1/2 weeks away from the French updates, which I guess could also be delayed due to Christmas. I thought i'd create a prospects list, please note:

1) It's my view of what SM will rise a player to not always my view

2) It's not an exhaustive list and the list focuses primarily on investment rather than top-end (88+ players)

I'll post an update in 2-3 weeks time with any changes to the ratings indicated. I've posted now as I know many of you like time to buy the players and save your pennies.

I've had a look and I think the 4 - 83's i've predicted are fine.

Ajaccio are 9th in league and 8 of 26 players are 83+ with the highest rating 84. Fournier has played the most minutes in that team, the maximum 1530.

Clermont are 6th in league and 5 of 28 players are 83+ with the highest rating 85. Franck CHAUSSIDIÈRE has played 1397 minutes (2nd highest) and Michael Fabre maximum of 1530 the highest minutes for a Clermont player.

Nantes are 2nd in league and 19 of 28 players are 83+ with the highest rating 86. Remi Mareval has played 1416 minutes, that's the 3rd highest in the team so in theory if he didn't rise to 83 would it be fair for Nantes to have 26+ other 83 rated players ahead of him?

No, i'm totally comfortable with ligue 2 players getting 83-85 range ratings.

Re: Bestpay's French rating change forecasts - 37 players

Nice list but :

Vercoutre doesn't deserve 88 : he's strictly a backup who will disappear from Lyon's roster very soon (Coupet is back from injury) and has never been a life insurance policy

Bayal Sall is one of the best midfielders in France, but has just been condemned to à 4 months ban, because of double contract signed, and that will refrain him from continueing his progression.

Kaboré is well regarded but it is only his first full season, moreover in Ligue 2 and has not proved anything at high level yet

Be careful with players from League 2 : there are a lot of french teams in this league who have pretty low levels.

I would add Hoarau, nice and powerful forward.

Be careful too with stats of games playing : that doesn't indicate anything concerning the players playing level. For example, taking Paris SG, regarding current team difficulties, or Metz, regarding the team (very low) defence level : the number of games played must be regarded with caution.

Re: Bestpay's French rating change forecasts - 37 players

Hatem Ben Arfa' date=' 86 should also get a good rise. He's been on form for Lyon and has made his debut with the French national team. 88-90 is possible.[/quote']

Good one snike, I think he'll go to 88/89. He wasn't on my prospects list as he was taken in single league.

But a great signing for anybody who can buy him.

Re: Bestpay's French rating change forecasts - 37 players

NGOYI' date=' Granddi, Paris SG, 73/19/200k - rise to 76

VALBUENA, Mathieu, Marseille, 82/23/2.8m - regular for marseille, rise to 86.

AYEW, Andre, Marseille, 74/17/380k - rise to 78

RAMI, Adil, Lille, 73/21/192k - rise to 81[/quote']

Ngoyi - Don't know why he's missed off my list but i've got him down for a rise to 78.

Valbuena - I would say for 791 minutes and with 82 professional games to date that Valbuena will rise to 83/84, but I honestly can't see 86, maybe next time around if he continues to play he'll rise to this.

Ayew - He's played only 183 league minutes so I see that as staying at about 74, unless he plays more in the interim.

Rami - Again only 247 minutes, probably deserves a rise to 74/75 only. Rami's only played 5 professional games ever, which will go against him and to be honest you'd probably need c800 minutes to get to 81 as well as games for 1-2 previous seasons.

You would think so wouldn't you!! Unless your name is bojan Krkic in fact, in that case you only need 12 mins to get an 80 rating!:rolleyes:

Krkic is the special one, the player equivalent surely of Mourinho. I remember many forumers saying he should be put on the DB at 85 straight away!!!

This is true I don't know why some players get put on the DB at 78 when they first play but looking at French Premier league stats a player with 247 minutes like Rami should be 74/75. It's a game of opinions though so everyone's welcome to their view.

Re: Bestpay's French rating change forecasts - 37 players

Burkina Faso's midfielder Charles Kaborè has reached an agreement with Olympique Marseille that has engaged him from Libourne Saint-Seurin.

He is surely going to rise but do not sell him . i am sure he will get some more games in Ligue 1 which will increase him further , who knows a new talent has emerged .

Miralem Pjanic' date=' Metz, 17/70/£10K - Rise to 81...............

[b']Are you sure he'll rise 11  [/b]

Ya why not? In the league has 13 caps, 11 starts, 2 sub appearances, 1 goal, 1 assist(if I'm not mistaken) so far. And then you could compare that with the other midfielders at Metz and then look at their ratings, Pjanic shouldn't at least be rated higher than a few of them. The number of appearances that a player has doesn't exactly justify a high increase but for a case like Pjanic, a 17 year old getting a lot of playing time ahead of other older players in his position, should indicate that hes a bit special. Increase to 81/82 should be about right. :D

Hey' date=' just sold Fred,Coupet And Juninho, because i feel thier ratings will go down in the next rating changes.. am i right of doing so ? Fred has only made 2 aparences this season.. so he shud go down..

Thanks In Advance[/quote']You are correct with the exception of Juninho, who continues to be a phenomenal player according to my 'sources' in France :D I think Coupet will fall but will reclaim his rating sooner or later.

Ultimate french statistics : M. Sissoko + C. Malonga

Regarding other recent changes (I mean Dirk Marcellis, who's now 83), Moussa Sissoko and Chris Malonga should get both 83 ratings.

Moussa Sissoko : 18 games (including 4 european games and 1 french cup game, and all recent games as full starter) for 1 goal scored + strong interest from top european clubs

Chris Malonga : 17 games for 5 goals (including 1 in french Cup last night) + 1assist, for 2nd ranked Nancy team (including the equalizer goal against Top team Lyon in December).

These stats are similar and even better as Marcellis ones (who deserves fully his 83 rating).
