Does this game-or maybe more the forum bring us into the category of being sad people?

I, and many of you spend alot of time on this forum and the game for enjoyment. However i've been thinking, despite having a good time on here I am sat for hours infront of a computer screen wasting valuable hours of my life.

Why do you continuously sit here debating what needn't be debated if you get out there and do something about it!

I am on here a fair bit but others i know are on here a **** sight more than i am...and i have a question to you

Q. Do you have a life?

A. (reply)

I have been here for half a year-ish,no doubt someone will now come out with a statement saying 'No actually, you have only been here for abour 5 months'

SO WHAT?

You all care a little too much about this game.

I'm off

Thanks for some good reads and some information.

The only really great forumers are the two main scouts (Bestpay & insider-Good luck with the op) You are the ones that i enjoy most because i get to gain something from your post(young talents), and for the time you must put into it, Thanks:).

To all people here that are currently studying for an important qualification from GCSE's to a university degree,Do not waste too much of your time on this game!Come back and play it when you are old and wise but not before! I suggest you come on for 5 months or so and then leave because it really is time consuming.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL x

I'll be back in 50 years or so :P

See you all, Have a Good,Active life!

Willo x

Re: Is this an indication a sad person?

:)Hey nice post Willo!!!:)

Yea i do have another life apart from SM,i look after along with my partner up to 100 stray and abandoned dogs and cats which we rehome etc(some may say what sort of a life is that!!:)) but i enjoy it and get a lot of satisfaction from it.

SM is my escape from this and i am lucky in the respect that i work from home and get some time to go on this, done all the partying and travel etc and i would be in that older age bracket you talk about:),i see your point about young people like yourself wasting a lot of time in front of a PC screen but at least they will not come to harm here or get themselves in bother.Moderation is the key as is all things in life, hope you don't disappear completely Willo and please don't leave it till your 50 as by that stage i will be long gone:D

BTW.Hope your sticking with your all conquering Man U in the What if setup!!:D

Re: Is this an indication a sad person?

Nice to know you do something to help mate! Sounds like you do a fantastic job.

And yeh, what you say about moderation is 100% correct however i have such an addictive personality along with a love for managerial games so i end up on here at every given oppurtunity.

I have never been a mega-poster but i read just about every thread that is made and i am ever presently online.

I have just sat my mock GCSE's and with my predictions of A's and A*'s i need to knuckle down in and outside of the classroom to get them as i am currently only really gettin b/a's.

Of course i will be keeping my mighty United and hopefully i can clinch the title with them,it would be nice because with most of my teams they start realy well and fade off towards the end of seasons.

I am keeping 3 of my teams so should be able to cut the time down a lot.

And i'll be back before your gone, temptation will haul me back long before then. See you later, and good luck with your animals mate!B)

Re: Is this an indication a sad person?

well to be honest i think this boils down to time management, which if your good at you can enjoy the best of both worlds.

Im currently studying at uni, iv had a girlfriend for 5 years, go out on the lash at least 3 times a week, play football two times a week, do my work ( ;) ) and when i get back ill have time for SM. Only havent been on recently due to internet problems.

When i was doing A levels, i had SM up and my work did a bit here and there. I see no problem playing this couple hours a day , i mean why not ? if you havent got anything planned. If people are lucky enough to have a laptop they can watch TV, film listen to music with SM just running on the side.

Everyone has a life outside SM, but they spend most probably all their spare time on SM. Thats a couple hours a day where they can just have a bit of banter.

I salute you for not coming on SM cus you want A*'s etc but at that level its the work you put in at school thats helps the most not your homework, thats more A level and uni. But i bid you good luck !

Re: Is this an indication a sad person?

My view on a sad person , is someone who pretends to be someone there not, in this case the forum and game. Some one whose life revolves around this game ( excluding SM devs that their jobs ;) ), spend there whole days on it, whose social life suffers because of SM, and whose academical and career prospects suffer because of it. There is no one on here that much imo, that it would cause them to be classed as a "sad person" in my view.

To be honest before i joined the SM forum i thought that forums were a bit of a looser kind of place, associated with geeks etc etc. But i see it as a bit of banter where football fans just talk !

Re: Is this an indication a sad person?

Both of your posts are also 100% correct and thank you guys for your feedback because i also wanted to get some views and advice and to my amazement i get two greatly respected forumers commenting on one of my posts!Best response i've had since being here!

Thank you again.

Is Uni worth it? because i've been contemplating whether to or not.I'm interested in setting up my own business and have been looking into it for ages and while i finish off with school and whilst in 6th form i will just browse for any gaps in the market/ideas to start off with.

But before i pursue my business dream would you recommend Uni just to get myself a backup qualification if all else fails?

Re: Is this an indication a sad person?

If This "So Called Sad People" Werent Here They Would Be Just Playing Football Manager or Watching Needless TV like Poop idle Anyway.

Also If These So Called Poeples Life Did Actually Revolve Around SM I Think they Might Go Jump Ofa Bridge Now That You've Spoeken To Them In Such A Way.

Anyway Im Off Out, When Id Rather Much Rather Stay Here B) But Whats Gota Be Done Has Gota Be Done!!

Obviosly This Thread Is Directed At Certain Poeple , & I.M.O It Shouldent Be Any Of You Ear Wax How Long ANYONE Stays On SM

There is a wide variety of Degrees within the business sector. So firstly that one thing to consider' date=' you might find a course that specialises in what you want to have a career in. However this is important, you dont have to go into the industry which your degree relates too. many employers see a degree as a sign that there potential employee has commitment and clever amongst other things.

Personally, i need a degree to go into my field of sports psychology but Uni is the answer for everyone. If your in your final year of GCSE's it shouldnt be on your mind, it should be on the back burner, just make sure you get your A-C's in english, maths and science and get enough to get into 6th form and college. Then when you pick your A levels do it wisely, obviously you need business whether you go to uni or not. Other than that its up to you, your 6th form / college will discuss all the options available to you at this point. On my course alot of people took a gap year and they went travelling thats the only thing, not many worked.

I dont know much about business but im guessing you have to have some cash to start up your own business and know the ins and outs of legislation etc. So a degree would help, it could potentially lead to geting a good job which would give you the financial backing to set up on your own.

HOWEVER THATS ALL IFS AND BUTS, its not plain sailing, and i wish you good luck !

Yeah i totally agree with that !

whats this mean shels ? dont fully understand . .

Re: Is this an indication a sad person?

imo this is just a case on someone seeking some attention.

Making a thread like this is not going to change anyones mind about playing SM or using the forum, if you had second thoughts if you was running your life poorly then just say so and say goodbye etc etc, I dont see the need to start calling others because you have had enough.

using the forum unlike you by looks of it I have gotten to know half the members properly, most of us have jobs, families, or GCSE's and all manage to do fine with each and also manage to spend time on here.

Teb I belive has one of the highest post counts and is on as much as anyone yet he has a full time job, girlfriend etc etc.

This is just a pointless thread which luckily was repsonded to 1st by some of the best forumers otherwise it might have turned into a pointless fight (prob what was intended)

maybe I just just read it wrong is so another admin can re-open it
