Hi all, As you have seen, I have not really been active over the past few months other than updating my preds. It's just been me phasing out of the forum. Now that the reviews are done, I can say

Just noticed this thread has crossed 1 million views, 23k odd replies, 930 pages.  I know this is 3 and a half years old but I never intended for this to monopolise the forum back then (I would h

I am pleased to announce that I list a "must buy" position by position. There will be a link for this in my OP to my Belgian thread. You can find them there yourself. I also distinguish between the players. First, some will be mentioned because of great potential and personal belief. Second, some will be named and will still have a rise. Finally, as always, there are players who are not yet in the database.

The purpose of this is to buy these players before they have a random rise and the "must buys" that are announced in the past are into 1 list. An overview.

Next days, next weeks I post position by position..

Goalkeepers

Right & Left Defenders

Central Defenders

Defensive Midfielders

Centre Midfielders

Attacking Midfielders

Right Wingers

Left Wingers

Centre Attackers

De vrij or sule?

De Vrij 92 rating, Sule 91. So go De Vrij for sure.

De Vrij is BOSS. The best inter defender in terms of defending, ball playing, and goal scoring threat. If he keep up his performance, he deserves 93 in my opinion. Inter is the team with the best defence in Serie A last season and the only untouchable from the defense is De Vrij.

And for Sule. He just come back from long term injury, so who knows how he will perform.

Hi guys normally i wouldnt bother with a transfer like this but i got offered Francesco Bardi 85(28) from Frosinone for my Jose Lazo 83(24) from Almeria. I know Almeria missed out on promotion last season but i dont know how good a player Lazo is. My best GK is Belec 83(30). Would that be a decent deal if i cant swap another player for Lazo? If you take into account that this is in Gold 1 so its very difficult to do any deals when you have a low rated squad.

On the subject of players in Scottish Premiership I'd recommend Josh Doig who was added to database in last few days. He is an 18 year old left back who has started every league game this season. He looks to have a bright future. Currently valued at 240k

Might mean he gets a rise in the next few days.

Maybe but might just be a hype increase.

Josko Gvardiol has been valued at 1 million for what seems like forever and he’s only 73 rated.

Same can be said for Ki Jana Hoever who I don’t think has even played a first team game, he’s also 73 rated and worth 1 million.

SM have a habit of doing this, I’m pretty sure there are many other examples.

Yeah, true. I was just thinking though there have been a few random rises for players playing in Brazil recently.

Bernardo Silva or Goretzka for CM?

Silva is currently highly rated, but with the way Bayern is steamrolling all in its path...

Goretzka

On course for it in the next review

I just came up with an idea:

I could create a new thread, where everyone can suggest people that should get upgraded/downgraded in their opinion(and explain why), and everyone else can go on SoccerWiki and upvote/downvote their rating(This way it might have a higher chance of changing their rating and we can "help" each other)

Let me know if you are interested in this :)

P.S This thread would be very useful for players that don't get updated regularly(years).

Don't think any of us here have power on SW

Hello guys

Do you know anything about the new SM update in September?

I remember it would be there for the 15th anniversary... right?

No updates yet mate

Sell Bernardo Silva?

I think he is in his higher rate with 93.

Depending on who you can buy

I think he has peaked at 93 too for now

How are fellow managers evaluating James Rodriguez potential since relocating?

Is he a candidate for a resurgence in the EPL?  If he performs this season could he get a rise?

Everton are good so far but James can only get back 92 with an extraordinary season coupled with Everton making top four (unlikely).

Of course, if he gets a 10+ goal + assist season then it is on the table.

I'd get Lazo, Bardi is unlikely to rise higher than that - but as you say Belec is also not too great. Any other GK options?

Wouldn't they start from the bottom?

I thought so too, who knows anymore

I'm keeping track of Segunda ratings above here - they were quite generous with Almeria today, but still plenty of high rated players that could do with dropping (even when you ignore the three relegated teams).

I watched Everton at the weekend, was impressed and wondered if he could have the same affect on them as Bruno had at ManU?

He might well and the question is, if we wait until Winter Review would SM already have "Random reviewed him" ? I myself will wait and see if his performances continue for a lot of matches b4 deciding. SM also don't like to reward previous players they have downgraded until they are confident.

Linked to Chelsea today, in a swap deal.

Don't Chelsea have enough incoming costly transfers and shouldn't they now concentrate a bit more on the defence side first? Ok Malang Sarr and Silva already but it may still be their weakness other teams will exploit.

Interesting transfers from an SM perspective:

  • Sam Lammers (83), moved to Atalanta
  • Ravel Morrison (82), moved to ADO Den Haag (more out of curiosity to see how he does)
  • Lucas Boye (82), moved to Elche
  • Pedro Pereira (82), moved to Crotone
  • Dimitris Limnios (83), moved to Koln
  • Runar Runarsson (83), moved to Arsenal - obvious back-up but could make it to 85 in that back-up role at least.
  • Alberth Elis (84), moved to Boavista
  • Moussa Wague (82), moved to PAOK on loan
  • Raul Guti (80), moved to Elche
  • Nazim Sangare (83), moved to Fenerbahce
  • Leonardo Campana (80), moved to Famalicao on loan
  • Ki-Jana Hoever (73), moved to Wolves
  • Leonardo Candellone (77), moved to Napoli
  • Tolgay Arslan (83), moved to Udinese
  • Arijanet Muric (80), moved to Girona on loan
  • Julian Pollersbeck (82), moved to Lyon - back-up GK but could get a minor rise
  • James Garner (76) - moved to Watford on loan
