I'd hazard a guess that those 12 clubs will somehow end up better financially anyway. The new structure of Champions League isn't far off a Super League anyway.

It's sad for the game.

Honestly, I love the new UCL format. I just hate the fact that there is 2 slots for "historical" teams.

I also not quite understand why they decide on 36 teams instead of 32 or 40.

I guess they will have 6 pots of 6 teams each. And Pot 1 team will play twice against Pot 2,3,4,5,6 teams. If that so, I think it is kinda unfair. Pot 1 team have the easiest schedule, Pot 6 would have hardest schedule...

Yeah that’s true, they hold all the power unfortunately and I hate to bring it back to Newcastle but i’m convinced the premier league was influenced by the top 6 to stop the Saudi takeover, why would the top 6 want more competition and this ESL idea has just confirmed this thought with their being no jeopardy to having a bad season without relegation (exclusive tournament)

Isn't the fact that he is a heinous criminal and a murderer enough?

These clubs need to be sanctioned in some way but I’m guessing UEFA and the premier league will forget this ever happened in 6 months time.

I agree those teams must be punished, just curious to see how, if at all.

UEFA might likely forget, I hope the fans won't. Regarding my team, I won't.

The new UCL format will further reduce the unpredictability of outcomes, yet another favour for the big clubs. It will be even more unlikely for a mid-level team to make it to the final stages of the competition. And having slots for historical teams is just as disgusting as the ESL.

As I wrote somewhere else, UEFA was a useful evil to prevent the ESL crap from happening, but it's still evil. The corruption in UEFA and FIFA is just as nasty. I think that the pressure on the football system shouldn't stop now that there is some momentum, and fans from all teams should demand some real change. I don't believe any of that will ever happen, of course.

On top of piracy claims as well, it was a flawed takeover from the get go.

Some Liverpool fans are already saying if Henry buys Mbappe all will be forgiven 😂

Should there still be a punishment for English clubs ?

Dortmund have the right & best idea the fans own the club or is it half the club?? Other German clubs have a 50%+1 fan Vote. Not sure exactly.... just Looked it up here:-

https://www.bundesliga.com/en/news/Bundesliga/german-soccer-rules-50-1-fifty-plus-one-explained-466583.jsp

"Watzke told SportBild that he never wanted to see German fans being “milked” for money “as is happening in England.”

The government should Compulsory Purchase 50.1% of shares and give it the Fans / Supporters clubs.

Boris would get another million votes, so he's in, he loves spending other peoples money and whats a few billion more from that sturdy Money Tree 😜

then there would have been 7 english clubs involved....

the solution isn't to have more of these sportswashing dictatorships, hedge funds and oil states taking over clubs. its to wrestle the ones back that already have been.

Yes I agree, this isn’t the point I was making though I was just pointing out one of the reasons why the takeover collapsed which ties into the fact of the big 6 wanting a closed shop so the likes of Leicester City, West Ham United, Leeds, Newcastle etc can never replace them.

Waking up to the news that the Super League has been stopped in its tracks

If there’s one thing we’ve learnt from this is that it doesn’t matter how many billions you have you can never BUY FOOTBALL!

WE THE FANS STILL OWN THE GAME!

It is great to see the power than fans still have. Great for the owners to see that! Maybe it'll teach them a lesson.

The thing is though football was bought a long time ago with introduction of Champions League in place of old European format, introduction of English Premiership and Sky getting involved.

Fans priced out of going to games, expensive TV subscriptions and the big teams continue to get richer.

This is where I hope that football learns its lesson. The way the money has spirriled out of control over the years, was always going to lead to something like the ESL. UEFA, FIFA, The FA, PL etc etc have had many chances to curtail the crazy money, but did nothing. Something has to change, or another ESL will pop up at some stage.

Well if he wants to repair the damage, it would certainly help. 😂

Unfortunately It will never happen though, Newcastle can’t even run Ashley out who’s a small fish compared to the Glazers and Kroenke’s of this world.

I suppose Rio could organise a whip round worth 4 billion if the fans wanted to buy United.

They had a small review with Holland and a few other clubs but I’m guessing the major review will be in a couple of months or maybe later.

One player I’ve asked to see a rise on discord is Luiz Junior at Famalicao, he’s way overdue.

I've not that convinced that a lot of the foreign owners are good for the English game. I think too many see it as a hobby.

Fan power is required like business model in Germany.

All political parties were prepared to step in so they should force the owners of the 6 to sell their stake for half price to the NHS to help pay for the pandemic. Saves punishing the players and staff who had bugger all to do with any of it! Well, we can all dream!!!

Spreadsheet Predictions For Best of Spain:-

Bestof-Spain-All50.png

Hope the above is clear enough to read. The above does not include all clubs in La Liga, only the clubs that have been predicted and uploaded from the spreadsheet are included. Tomorrow I will upload Best Of Spain U23's at the usual time.

As the warning in red above, be careful of the players Red Boxed!

To SM Search for this post SpaiAll  ie usually two 4 letter keywords for Country and Club into one word no spaces, I will try to remember this each time. Please remind me if I don’t and I will edit.

Thanks for the Forum’s interest and support for the Spreadsheet, which is greatly appreciated, Cheers Socca😀

Florentino is back on El Larguero tonight and is doubling down on his horror interview on Monday! I am really loving this content, he is so of touch and some of these quotes are hilariously absurd. You'll be hard-pressed to find a worse launch for anything in this world.

If they made the Americans sell this to the public, it may have gone slightly better. Even Agnelli. Do they not have a WhatsApp group to decide these things? Florentino pissed off all 16-24 aged football fans, today he had a go calling Turkey a small league, doubt that will go down well with them...

We are lucky this idea has been so terribly marketed and handled.
