After Donnaruma's latest shenanigan looks like he will move to PSG but play somewhere on loan for a season.

My question is all good teams have good GKs and he is rumoured to join Roma or a club like Roma who are not 1st class but 2nd class. So if he joins a club like that and doesn't have an outstanding season will he be likely to drop?

He won’t drop as long as he plays especially at a club like Roma, as @sparkrightly said the likes of Areola kept his rating and I would expect him to stay at 89 in this upcoming review despite Fulham’s relegation.

Funny thing is Areola is actually a PSG play so I wonder where that leaves him next season, could be an interesting player to follow and a really solid keeper for a lot of decent teams.

Can afford one of these, who would be the best choice with the reviews imminent

1) Chiesa

2) Locatelli plus Curtis Jones

3) Kessie plus Curtis Jones

Chiesa, Locatelli and kessie would all be starters, Jones one for the hopefully not too distant future

But surely his stats will still be good. Yes clean sheets would be down but shot stopping you would expect to remain high. Look at the goalkeepers from WBA and Fulham

What I will say is I think SM finds it difficult to draw a line between CS and save percentage.

A GK playing at clubs like Fulham, etc will always face more shots and hence save more but have less CS.

Take the example of Fabianski. When he played for Arsenal he had the odd mistake in him which got highlighted a lot more coz he was, for example, making a mistake every 7 shots.

For WHU he was still making the odd "easy" mistakes but was saving 10 tremendous shots. Must say, he has been fantastic for WHU for the past 2 seasons.

The conundrum is huge.

I asked about Donnarumma because he set a standard for himself. Now for a season that bar is lowered because of the club he will play in.

Will his bar be the past seasons of Milan or his new club will set a new (lower) bar?

I get into fantasy football for a few weeks at the start of a season sometimes and then lose interest and never log in again.

Same. I am sure I have accounts in every fantasy league one can think of but I don't even last the first month.

Though I will add the one time I took a season seriously I was top of the table for the month of October (if I recall correctly) in my workplace in whole of UK and got free tickets to community shield the following season - United vs Chelsea. BOOM!

He’s young and highly rated, I think SM will find it hard to drop him playing for a lesser team. Like you say Roma is a second class team but still a good team in Italy.

If he starts throwing them in and has a terrible season then I don’t see why he wouldn’t drop.

Hate to go back to Areola again but he’s a great example because his rating is much higher than most in the Fulham team. Areola’s bar had been lowered but he came out unscathed.

I thought I was the anomaly in not liking fantasy football. But some big guys in forum are with me.

I will go further and say I also dislike football manager.

To join Euro 2020 app fantasy football for forumers the code is -

i joined as its just for a few weeks but i'm the same.

The thing with fantasy football that bothers me is that its seem like for some football has become the means to FFs end. Like people are more concerned with the fantasy team points than their actual team.

A bit like when someone wins 5 olympic gold, or the PL and CL and people saying "yeah but....are they gonna win the sports personality of the year?" 🤪

It's not good when you almost find yourself celebrating a rival team goal.

TALENT ALERT 🚨

Ivan San Jose ‘Chuky’ (17) is widely known as one of hottest prospects in Spanish football, playing mainly as an attacking midfielder or support striker Chuky has an incredible ability to find space in between the lines which he uses well, scoring many goals in the process.

9C7F613B-DA0B-4E5D-81A0-E7453DBEC2FC.thumb.jpeg.ddc22408a41a9504fbef6cfcfbafd865.jpeg

Its no surprise that a wide range of clubs are interested in Chuky this summer, most notably Barcelona who are looking to add him to their La Masia academy. Some are likening this potential transfer to Pedri who has been ever present for Barcelona this season after joining from Las Palmas.

Couple of clips below

Chuky scored 22 goals in 21 games for Cadete A and Juvenil B last season.

Now that’s not to say Chuky will be straight in the team, but it’s clear to see that Barcelona are focusing more on youth currently with there financial situation. Proof of this is the likes of Moriba, De La Fuente, Mingueza and Araujo all getting minutes this season.

Currently not in SM but once again another MUST BUY when that day comes, remember the name!

Is onana worth getting? Understand he is currently on a 1 year ban till feb 2022. Then again, he is still young and is already rated 91, i have a chance to get him for me giving up Jonathan David and soria. Currently still negotiating for me to give zubeldia (89) and soria (89) instead. What do you guys think?

Potential transfer

Pedro de la Vega being linked with a move to Fiorentina or Norwich. He's part of the Argentina under 23 setup

He is a winger who has played just under 70 games for Lanus and has been tipped for a move to Europe since he broke in to first team.

One to watch

Rating - 82

Value - £2.8million

I would try and get someone else. Keepers aren't as important in SM as other positions. Definitely keep Jonathan David who has had a solid first season at Lille after a slow start

Keep both duos! I would be more tempted with Zubeldia and Soria but there is no guarantee that Onana won’t drop so it’s a bit of a risk in my opinion.

Minutes will vary game by game and league position also helps a lot. Anything over 0% indicates likely riser, higher the better/safer. Negative percentages don't predict a drop just less chances of a rise. The more games played the more accurate the predictions will become.

I am concentrating mainly on Younger under 89 rated players as these are more consistent risers and more profitable, Goal keepers are dealt with by SM in a completely different way, which is why I mostly also ignore Gk's

PrediSpSheePremiSouthamp15th.png.d903badfaa3e2e17aac5109ea6713d88.png

8 Players below the Over0% line means it's debateable whether they will get the predicted rise. Che Adams should as he has recently become a Scottish International, which adds to his chances just a little.

To SM Search for this post EnglSout ie two 4 letter keywords for Country and Club into one word no spaces, I will try to remember this each time. Please remind me if I don’t and I will edit.

Thanks for the Forum’s interest and support for the Spreadsheet, which is greatly appreciated, Cheers Socca😀

What do you mean by "keepers aren`t as important" ?, don`t they add to the overall team average like every other player.

Talking of keepers, is Strakosha liable to drop in rating ?

Cheers

I think Strakosha will drop, no longer first choice at Lazio.

I have won league titles with average on pitch 85 and a 76 rated GK who was getting same ratings per game as most other GK. Just as likely to have a 10/10 game as my other GK was and saved me lots of wages.

The Future sweetner is getting Curtis Jones and Either of the two, possibly Locatelli but not a lot in it.

The jury is out on that. But down the years lower rated keepers getting MOM and winning matches. So it's not a bad idea to concentrate more on players rather than GK's without going too low. Easier to get a Meslier type soon 87? Indeed so was Onana not that long ago, 2years?

I need to sell one player .
Between Hermoso and Lodi , who would you sell ?

I have enough coverage in the team on all positions , so my only focus is who will be able to get the highest rating and evade potential future rating drops .

Upcoming review I think Lodi has 0 chance to rise , while Hermoso might have a slight chance to 91 ?
