but which is the next league? EPL?

Last summer the order was:

  • Germany (May)
  • France (May)
  • England (May)
  • Spain (May)
  • Italy (May)

There have been a few guesses as to what the order will be this year, whether it'll be based on UEFA coefficients or not.

Country coefficients seem to be used for the big 5 end-of-season review (contrary to the one in winter).

Germany is being reviewed now. After that one the order would be France, Italy, Spain and finally the PL.

Oh no Sr....no comparison here...Bernardo Silva, Gonçalo Guedes, Quaresma, CR...no spot for him

Nainggolan best Belgian 8 for me

Of course it's comparable, it's always the couch choice, Martinez said he wasn't the best fit tactically.

Although i agree with you that Radja definitely had a place in that team, being by far the best belgium midfielder this season, i also though that Rony was one of the best Portuguese players this season, like Rubén Neves was too, Santos preferred to take others. One could argue that Rony could've been there instead of Martins for example.

Think the point is Lopes May be a good player but nowhere near the level of Asensio now or in the future

Martins? Gélson? i forgot that one lolol i disagree...

Portuguese "Wingers":  1 - Ronaldo, 2 - Bernardo Silva, 3 - Gélson Martins, 4 - Ricardo Quaresma, 5 - Gonçalo Guedes, 6 - João Mário, 7 - Bruno Fernandes, only number 8 in the hierarchy for Fernando Santos..believe me

He was happy just for being in the last 35...

Agreed

I don't know where the direct comparison from Lopes to Asensio comes from, the Deal was Bailey + Lopes = Asensio, while Lopes alone probably won't be better player than Asensio, Bailey in the other hand has the potential to be, so it's a good deal.

Of course you disagree, like you disagree of Radja being left out of the Belgium squad but it was Martinez choice, i disagree with Santos not taking Rony Lopes and specially Ruben Neves.

And let's be honest, Ronaldo is barely a winger anymore.

no lol

Yeah, they seem to do one team each day and maybe one or two players in another team the same day then finish the team the next day so tomorrow will be Dortmund finished and a couple of players from Hoffenheim and so on.

Although i agree with you that Radja definitely had a place in that team, being by far the best belgium midfielder this season, i also though that Rony was one of the best Portuguese players this season, like Rubén Neves was too, Santos preferred to take others. One could argue that Rony could've been there instead of Martins for example.

De Bruyne has had a better season. Nainggolan wasn't as good this season as the one before. He definitely should have been in the squad though (also because he's quite versatile and Martinez has stressed the importance of tactical flexibility). Radja would be a nailed-on starter in the 3-5-2 and 4-2-3-1 that Martinez has used and in Martinez's usual 3-4-2-1 he'd either be a great supersub or offers a great alternative for the starting line-up.

Martinez views Nainggolan as a 10 and he prefers to use a 3-4-2-1, with Hazard + Mertens in support of Lukaku, sometimes switching to 3-4-1-2, with either Hazard or Mertens dropping into the 10 role and the other joining Lukaku up front. IMO there are plenty of benefits to playing with Nainggolan + Hazard or Mertens in support of Lukaku as Radja covers for Mertens/Hazard's shortcomings (different approach, both can be useful, and the profiles of Radja + Eden/Dries fit well together, especially against better opponents). Also, Nainggolan said he'd move heaven and earth to protect the back if used in the holding role, which he has proven when used as a 6 in the past, yet Martinez wants to use Witsel instead. Radja even told Martinez he'd accept a bench role and wouldn't cause trouble. Nainggolan isn't being left out because of tactical reasons TBH.

I totally forgot about De Bruyne, but comparing to the likes of Fellaini, Moussa Dembele or even Witsel. I know he isn't, but that's what Martinez said as an excuse.
