Aboubakar at Porto. Good chance of an 89?

I think it depends on how generous they are with the Portuguese league. They were very harsh on the likes of Russia, Ukraine, Greece etc.

It also might depend on how Porto are doing in the Champions League. They had a terrible result first off at home against Besiktas...

Nice and thank you :) Though I personally don't expect Brazil to be again reviewed this year (last update was in April), maybe early next year, they're too busy reviewing Vanarama.

Any chance you'll be here to enchant us with the Big 5 predictions ? :P

Yeah, even if Brazil isn't reviewed in the near future, I think it was still a useful league to rate.

Out of all of the major leagues, it is probably the only one where they have played a significant number of games.

Nice to see outside eyes looking in on Brazil, very accurate predicts there..., however many of the 85/86 wont rise again, IE at Santos, Braz, Ferraz, they just arent enough quality to warrant 87s etc

Dont expect many rises above 80 for the lower table sides.

86 is the peak for many players in Brazil, youd have to be exceptional to start going higher IE Henrique Dorado, Andre

87/88 normally reserved for domestic national team players

Id like to see Jean go to 82 (Bahia GK) & Trauco to go to 86 (brilliant fullback),amongst others

Finally, bar the top handful clubs the league is so tight right now, so have your edits at the ready, its going to be a rollercoaster finish to the league

I'm happy to see your input into the forums once more Sir Rahul

Looking forward to see how these Brazilians pan out.

JMH - the breakdown is very helpful when looking at long-range predictions and muddling through my own evaluations. Question for you, has the "average peak" of 86 remained constant in the Brasileiro over the last few years?

As always, much appreciative of the ratings, and of the all the hard work of everyone who contributes

Cheers

Brazilian football has peaks and troughs. Stand out players can rot on benches from one season to the next. Players truelly are expendable in Brazil. Clubs have salary caps to adhere to, and coaches can be flavour of the month then handed there p45, which means certain players may well be moved on as the next coach has his own ideas and will discard the personnel he doesnt see fitting into his own system. It is a very turbulent league.

We had at a stage an 'inflated' rating cap. Driven by Neymar and Corinthians. It dragged several top league players ratings possibly a little too high (Damiao, Dede, Paulinho) but they were star performers for club & National side. Today there is a gulf in the upper rated players. Some have definitely paid there due to be there (Luan, Dudu) but then you find a handful of these upper rated are trailed by a plethora of low to mid rated 80s, who quite a few, have settled into club sides and are putting together season upon season of consistency. We could see many more start to creep to the 84/85/86 level after what i see was a gulf where there was a handful of top league players, supported by an average cast who were wheeled and dealed round the league.

Brazilian football is also driven by financial paydays. Top talent is pushed to the fore in hope they can string some decent games together, and again in hope a European club comes a knocking. You have seen it every season, a mulitute of young lower rated players left low rated after stints in Brazil. As they are moving away, the cycle starts again with an experienced campaigner, or a new talent.

Essentially, due to the inconsistent lineups and heavy rotation of players so said reasons above, a stable player in the upper league rating average seemed difficult to obtain. In answer to your query, 82/83/84 was the norm, now we are seeing that number slowly creep up. Clubs like Gremio, Ath PR, Botafogo, Flamengo now cementing themselves as solid clubs in the top end of the table along side your already frontrunners Corinthians, Palmeiras & Santos, they all have solid cores of players who will establish these mid to higher 80s.

https://www.transfermarkt.nl/unai-nunez/profil/spieler/338285 hasn't been added yet I think, I looked for him long ago

all this is based on my prior knowledge, because I didn't check each player for his gametime stats.

Nantes have an 87 and an 88 rated player so I'm hoping they get another 87 rated one. Gambling on them being comfortably in the top half by the time the review starts (*on 2nd thought nobody is after Carlos so I'll wait to buy him and see how they fare first). ASSE and Bordeaux also have quite a few interesting players but I'm mainly looking for 85 and above.

Lenglet is one of the players that has played the most at Sevilla and together with Rico and J Correa one of the few youngsters on a very decent team.

Sule played a lot more than Boateng and only has one app less than Hummels. Hoping his big transfer move and SM's eagerness to add more 90 rated players earns him a +1 (would be great if Fekir gets it too but he isn't at massive club). I won't complain if Sule doesn't get a +1 in the next review (Hummels should have risen last time though). Both will get it sooner or later.

Fair enough on Carlos

Yep then Lenglet to rise. Joaquin is class, wrote a profile on him recently.

Sule could get, 50/50.
